Morning Andrew! Hands down, the AXIS is a well thought out and well designed machine. All of us here are big fans of the machine. The cylinder adjustment is a big plus (except when Huskie Bob is bucking long lengths but saying they are 16" - LOL!). A few other things I like about it that you didn't mention - The pedal also has an adjustment so you can adjust the height of the pedal relative to the ground and to your foot. So, if you are on uneven ground, you can quickly and easily adjust the height so it will activate even when the machine is on a hump, and also to adjust it for the pivot height of your foot - very comfortable and I can attest, I don't need to lift my leg to engage the pedal - simple teeter off the heel. Uneven ground in the forest? No problem - the stand has extendable legs to distribute the weight and also allows us to level the machine when working on uneven ground out there. It also has pockets welded underneath the table for pallet forks, if you have a tractor or skid steer to move it around the woodyard. The axle and tires for trailering - torsion axle ( I believe) means it pulls really smoothly and tracks nicely behind my pickup truck when taking it down to another property. And the extra huge log lift means we can pile it up with a lot of rounds at once. And the steel you use - I am not sure what the measure is but it is thick and stable - it is a firm, sturdy workspace. Lastly, it is ready to take a conveyor as an option. Sorry - got carried away. Have a great week!
Lol. Loved it gord. You have a lot of great points there. That darn husky bob hahaha
Totally awesome machine. Fast, precision, premium firewood
Can't wait to run the AXIS ~ been working too much and did not get my Thirsty Thursday on last month...sorry Brad
@@cowboyjoyandtheRoughCuts no worries. Hope to see you next month
I don’t have an Axis but I love watching them run!
Nice shots getting those straps through the totes
Lol...it harder than it looks. Must have took me ten tries putting them on hhahah
I wondered if the first one was luck. Then he really concentrated on the second. I bet he’s good at throwing corn hole bags!
Tell ya what, I don’t need to be hear’n or watch’n the virtues of the Lexis. I’m sold on the mechanics of the splitter. I’m a Pennsylvania sort of a small firewood entrepreneur. I bundle and offer firewood for sale. The demand has exceeded more than I anticipated. I’m no spring chicken so I need to be concerned about reducing touches and physical lifting like I use to be able to do prior to reaching my 87th. Still have’n fun and want to continue. I will be making a contact regarding a purchase. The conveyor accessory is a winner.
When the owner of the company splits his own firewood instead of taking from the 48C pile, you know he is serious about firewood. Split to the size you want, even the wife can handle it lol. Cheers and stay safe, its hot out there.
I have my stroke limiter set and use it as a gauge for the finished product. If it don't fit it don't ship! 😀 Honestly the only thing it's missing is a cup holder. 🔥
Slicing n dicin..... absolutely no debris..... outstanding!! Just a big geewizz!! Well done Andrew!
Was in Ottawa many years ago visiting my cousin. His buddy across the street burned wood. They told me he burns 25 cord a year. I said jumpins, that’s a lot of wood. I then came to find out it was face cords. They in that area measured in face cords. I had never heard of face cords before, and I’ve never heard that term or rick used here in PEI since then. This was 20 years ago or so. Average usage for most wood burners here is about 8 cord. 128 cubic foot cords.
That looks like a excellent machine Andrew.
Have a great day. Hope your wife is doing well.
When I was young, people would ask if I was over 6 foot tall. I’d tell them, nope just 5 foot, 14.
It’s a great machine. Works well! We put a lot of wood through it and no issues with the machine itself.
Thanks for making a good product
Hope your Wife and family are doing better now! I love this splitter and would love to know the story behind designing it and what R&D went into it with it being a vertical.
Thanks doug. Really appreciate it. Wifes doing great
You know I love mine! Fantastic machine and company!
Though there are several vertical splittersin the market, the Axis you designed eliminates a lot of pain points on the competition.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and I’m sure the competition is going to be imitating the Axis in the future!👍TCT
You have made your brand your dad would be proud
An excellent machine.👍👍
WHY,,, WHY,,, Why do you just keep teasing me with this Beautiful Machine That I just can't Justify Buying !!!!!!!
Always a pleasure Andrew ❤😊
Awesome equipment and service is second to none...........
Great to hear from you ken
👍
The ankle pedal is awesome idea keeps your feet flat on the ground
Cubic metre here in Australia 👍😉 And ❤ the Axis such an awesome splitter👌
Andrew you and your people really make fine equipment
Thanks brian
My dream splitter. Who knows, maybe one day.
Andrew ~ I've got my rounds at my new Axis and gonna give her a go this Saturday! Thank Sandra again for working with me in the office end of the purchase. Will let you know how it goes!
Hi just wanted to congratulate you on a fantastic machine, do not have one(do not need one) but have seen it on a couple of channels DDDiy & BBRay,both channels show your splitter in an extremely good light, and so congratulations and keep up the good work.👍🐝🌞
Blue and Orange 👍👍
Hey Andrew Nice job
I'd love to try out an Axis with conveyor for a few hours.
Nice trailer Andrew. Millroad eh? Have not seen one of those before.
Would love to see you do the face cord challenge with this splitter.
Where can i get one of those shirts?? I was one would have come with my ultra. Im definitely interested in purchasing one!
I also notice you have brackets for a forklift to transport the machine around the wood lot without hooking up to a tow vehicle.
The fork pockets are handy
I’m surprised that the stroke limiter isn’t mentioned or used more. Maybe because even without it the axis is fast. From my limited time on one I’d say it’s plenty powerful as well.
The first demonstrations I saw on the Axis, the operators were unaware of the stroke limiter.
Do you offer financing on your splitters and what are the lead times on a axis with a 8ft conveyer im looking to upgrade from a countyline splitter in the spring
We do if you have a business to put it under lead times are 6-8 months.
what is the splitting area on the wedge is it 16 inch
Enjoyed mine about a month now and put over 14 hours on it.
Questions:
I have noticed an oil can sound sometimes when splitting tougher stuff that pops. I have had people ask me if that is normal.
Also noticed the cylinder has shims at back 2 of 4 cylinder mount bolts- Monday I split hackberry, Osage orange, cherry, and mulberry. If the log was too hard to split with the full wedge I would try the front 1/4 to 1/3 of it and noticed it gouging the back rails at the bottom. There seems to be about half an inch space between the rails and wedge where it bolts on the back. Kind of concerned that the movement might stress the cylinder mounts- I wonder if the spacers are removed and some uhmw plastic between rails and rear of wedge would help.
The lift is lower than the table so have to keep slightly lowered to not catch when sliding.
Would I buy it again- absolutely!! The huge rounds I split I don’t worry about having to pull back and re-split. The ability to quickly turn and split is great. The log lift is necessary and really useful. It seems like two or three people are required to reach maximum efficiency: 1 running controls, 1 loading and moving pallets and totes, 1 stacking in tote. You don’t wait for the splitter- it waits for you!
Great machine!!!!
Ill check that out in the morning for you chris. Appreciate the support
I am wondering whether the tabletop is flexing and making that sound. If it is you should be able to see it or feel it, I would think. If that is what it is you could stiffen the table or use it as it is. Oil-canning on the flat part of a standing seam metal roof is almost normal.
You are holding the wood while it splits. I would count that as waiting. That is why the vertical has low output.
One guy, I think it was Tony's Cool Tools, put a thick sheet of plastic on the lift to equalize it to the table. The lift should have been built 1/4 inch higher or something like that. Design flaw.
Because it is a vertical, the splitting wedge is not as stable as a horizontal. That is my impression. I have no experience with either one.
The only downside for me to an Axis is the height - it doesn't fit in my 7ft tall garage; thus I stay with the horizontal splitters. Other than that, they look to be another feature-rich machine which is a market leader.
Excuse me. I called the splitter a Lexis. I stand corrected AXIS.
The table is a bit slick at times. Think you could incorporate a table that (when down pressure in applied) would hold the bottom of the piece from kicking out? Maybe like nub ended rods through a spring loaded plate? The plate would push down a bit, with the nubs holding the wood from moving?
Did it kick you?
How many times
did it kick you?
Are you going to let it
kick you again?
Can you think of
any other remedies?
What about not putting wood in there that it does not like?
Will the remedy that you proposed allow the round to slide around easily? Will the remedy that you proposed add to the complexity and cost?
@Jake Bredthauer That's awesome. This place is great. Great is a great thing, awesome is even better. Great is awesome sometimes, but awesome is Great all the time. Sorry, thought I'd just put some random nonsense in here as well. Cheers! SOME people will realize that my comment was satire. If the wood is cut correctly it splits just fine.

Did it kick you?
How many times?
Do you have any more upgrades planned for the Axis? Not saying you need them but I know you are always innovating!
We've thought about a bigger pump and engine, but really only need one thats so fast
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters that would be cool to make one just to see what it would do!!! ☺
Mine is going into production in a couple weeks....hmmmmm. 🤔 😂
@@nickcr1312 how do you know that?
What is the cost of this
Love that machine fast and easy to use no doubt the best splitter out there .
I guess it’s good to be short. Lol
Still dreaming orange and blue
