- In this video I split some quality Hickory with the Eastonmade AXIS. This awesome splitter is on loan to the 608 woodyard for a week courtesy of Brittany & Francis of @bfoutdooradventures. I split the hickory into my truck and then stack it in a woodshed.

I know it’s not cheap but the conveyor that’s available for the Axis I think would be a must have.
It works without but it definitely would be nice! $3300 option
@@outdoorsinthe608I'd have to get the Axis with a conveyor. But at a retail of $16,300 without shipping plus the prices are going up again soon, not worth it. I'll be looking for different vertical splitters that are also very well built.

Jeremiah I stored the split hickory under roof and found the boring bugs still create the sawdust but it just blows off or falls off easily when ready to sell. That Axis is awesome with precision wood. You’re not going to want to give it back to B F.👍TCT

I’m low on hickory and bitternut is some of best, ship it over here across the pond (Lake MI). The boring bug saw dust won’t hurt the wood

That was nice of them to let you use there machine. You could get them a brush to brush off the table from time to time. Something like a wood shop uses to brush off there table saw. I seen another channel got one and stores it in the fork pocket hole just below the table. Nice splitting peace.

There are lots of options and designs out there for newer splitters. How much longer are you going to “tolerate” your splitter now?? 😊

Waiting to find the right vertical splitter option, or going with box wedge. It all depends on if I land a few bagged wood accounts.

They need the conveyor! I wasn't sure if I'd need the conveyor and I honestly haven't split anything without using it yet! It works for ibc totes, smaller dump trailer and smaller trucks. Not long enough for my bigger trucks though.

@outdoorsinthe608 definitely, they went up $3650 since I got mine so got lucky I ordered when I did. Just saying I'm shocked how much I actually use the conveyor.

You’re not going to want to go back to your box store splitter after using this. I do keep my old Huskee around for a backup splitter for the Ultra or for nasty knotty rounds. Unfortunately right now both of my splitters are down for repairs.

My biggest complaint with noodling into halves/quarters is when the chunks are split. The splitter follows the grain unlike the chainsaw and I end up with alot of triangle shaped pieces. The Axis had a couple triangles I saw hit the wheelbarrow but overall it split them into much nicer pieces!👍

Made some beautiful firewood! That piece you held up when talking about the Axis not liking knots. I don’t think any splitter would enjoy that one. How long did it take to process that truck load?
