    Hey Bob I can honestly say I think Chris found the ideal spokesperson for Wolferidge. You do an incredible job of demonstrating and explaining all the features of this machine. I’m a huge fan of the vertical machines and I think Wolferidge has outdone Eastonmades Axis with the log lift and moveable conveyor.
    Cheers Woody !!!

    Bob, good demo!
    CHRIS, since you own the business, and your the top Guy, may I suggest painting all the wedges on the VS17 Red for a better visual on the down stroke. Really like the color scheme with the gun metal gray.
    And, upgrade the foot pedal to have some open metal grating or some sort of foot hold so your boot wouldn't slide or slip off when in the snow. Thanks, (I know you can run that by the R and D department.)
    I like the new VS17, I think you're gonna have great success with it.!

    I watched this morning before signing in..... Bob, Are you guys still planning on showing the 17VS-C (with the bigger pump and motor ) soon? You said a while back maybe by the end of January. Is that still the case?
    You guys are top dog in the vertical splitter game right now from the manufacturers currently making them that I've seen. This machine blows the Eastonmade away hands down. Not even close. Also blows away the Power split and Supersplit machines as well. There are a couple of others also not even close or as well known ( I cannot even remember their company names ).
    I'm sure the 17VS-C won't disappoint either since It's never been shown with the bigger pump and motor to my knowledge due to waiting for parts and such ( according to Chris a while back ). Thanks for the video.

      We worked on that before, but video didn't turn out very well. It's an easy add on that only takes about 2 hours or so. The bracket gets sandwiched between the hydraulic tank and the frame and just a couple hoses to add on. Run power wire to battery box. Easy Peasy

    Bob, this was very well done.
    If you were gonna split 50+ cords, small splits like this, would this be your go to machine, or a box wedge splitter, or something else??
    TIA😊

    • @BacktoBob1
      @BacktoBob1 5 місяців тому

      Thank you! That's a tough decision for me... I really like both machines. You get more of an upper body work out with the VS, which I don't mind, but you have almost no kindling or chaff and have the utmost control of split size. The box wedge machine would be less physical handling, depending on your logs, but the nature of the box wedge produces more kindling or chaff. If you were getting big rounds all the time, like 24" diameter or so I would go with the VS.
      Thanks again for watching!

  • @waynetharp
    @waynetharp 5 місяців тому

    Absolutely a solid unit and beautifully made like everything they produce!👍
    However...I felt Chris ran just short on time getting the 17vs ready for debut at PB show. I was hoping that this winter the 10% that was rushed would be readdressed and maybe done a little better before actual production of these units began. The stickers for controls just dont cut it with me. I would rather see some wording or symbols etched into the panel that will withstand time. I read your comments on already looking into a better foot control. I see it bending backward with each push, which can't be good in the long run but better ergonomics and grip would be a plus also. I am not sure how peddle locks up? Can it possibly bounce out of lock position in transport with a pot hole? One other thing is changing the motor oil. It appears the whole mounting plate will be covered during that process?
    Again...Awesome machine but at the price point I would like to see a few things improved that were rushed at the end for these to meet the standards we have grown to expect from Wolfridge being bulletproof units! Nice job on the video and have a great weekend, Bob!👍

    • @WolfeRidgeSplitters
      @WolfeRidgeSplitters  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for your feedback. This is Chris commenting....
      There is an oil drain hose like we use on our other high output splitters.
      The pedal has over an inch of pin engagement with spring lock. The pedal can not move that far due to the channel it rides in. This will not bounce out of stowed position. Also, this pedal is made from hi tensile steel and can flex with no concern. I do not feel that adding traction to the pedal is necessary. We want to make sure it is not able to be engaged unless the operator is in position to run the machine.
      Better decals are being designed for controls, but etching is not a viable option due to rust concerns. Also, laser etching will not show thru powder coating, if done before hand.
      We improved just about every aspect of this machine from Paul Bunyan to now. We added fenders, electronic throttle controls, added clearance for log lift and other safety features.
      The first VSC sold to a gentleman in Maryland, and he likes it so much that he ordered another one, so I think we are doing just fine with them!

    • @waynetharp
      @waynetharp 5 місяців тому

      @WolfeRidgeSplitters Thanks for the reply...I had yet to see the hose in any videos! The peddle does not look awkward in any way to me. I did just notice it bending. Way to nice of a machine for those generic control labels!👍Have a great weekend!

    • @BacktoBob1
      @BacktoBob1 5 місяців тому

      There is a 6 inch stroke limiter, which would bring your stroke length to 18 inch but there’s very little margin for error then with round cut lengths. I can do a video with these limiters soon to show them all.
