Andrew, this is Ken from Lumber Capital Log Yard. This is an awesome machine. We cannot wait to put it through the paces. Thank you for the opportunity. Happy Holidays.
The Dragon teeth upgrade rocks!
Andrew seems to be a nice up grade working good be talking to you soon on one of your machines 👍
Excellent improvement. Neighbor Doug and I are going to work on trying to copy this and show anybody who may have a previous model axis how they can do this upgrade themselves
Looks great!
Looks like the chain improvements work great Andrew! Great job to you and your team!
Thanks joe
Nothing wrong with inproving ur machine ,i think its great that admit its a floor but uve made sure it aint now good job xx
I got to run Tony's Cool Tools Axis this past weekend. Is an incredible machine! Is everything you and others claimed it to be. But for the way I do wood, the Axis is a bit too clumsy to move around my tight-ish woodyard, especially with the conveyor. The speed of the splitter doesn't scare/concern me at all, floored the foot pedal almost immediately when trying it out. If had tried out the Axis before ordering the horizontal splitter I did from another company, I probably would've bought the Axis without the conveyor. Like you said, it isn't more productive than the horizontal machines but it is incredibly precise!
Hey Andrew new sub here from Illinois. I see a lot of your Axis on other channels and love it! I would say you just improved the only flaw! Great fix. Well done👍🏻👍🏻
Nothing better than improving your products. A company that rests on its laurels goes out of business. Good going on ya Andrew!
Hi Andrew, I suspect product improvement is a large part of your everyday thought process. I agree that probably the best way to get this in people's hands would be to sell the lugs as a "weldon" upgrade kit for people to install themselves. I enjoy your channel and am really impressed with your products. Cheers from PEI, Chris
Great work Andrew and team, love seeing the products progress and get better all the time!
Really like how you listen to your customers so improvements can be made. Have a Safe Day
At a commercial landscape mower manufacturer we had 20% margins, dist had 20% margins, and dealer had 25% to negotiate down to 20%. Parts were 100% - 1000% (wire harnesses for example) markup. Simply offer conveyor replacement with minimal % markup for 1 year. All our "bad design" fixes rolled out with similar pricing.
So excited for mine to get delivered!!
Every iteration is intended to be better than the one before. Just keep moving forward. Thanks Andrew and team.
awesome work guys
Good job and good explanation of your improvement thoughts.
Nice
Nice improvements!
Thanks!!!
Hi Andrew,
That is a huge improvement on the conveyor chain. I have a STK32 conveyor on order, will the chain improvement be implemented on all conveyors?
Morning Andrew! Two thumbs up ( I can only give you one) :)) Great new enhancement to the conveyor. Much more effective - Love this AXIS!!
Andrew, I want to commend the Eastonmade team on all the efforts you guys put it to sell a premium product and continue to engineer it to be better. The products you create are excellent from what I can tell. I hope one day I can justify purchasing one. An idea you might want your team to look into given the material constraints of the world. Would it be feasible for those who run a conveyor and would want the modified chain maybe do something similar to a partial refund if original chain is returned. You could get the original chain back refurbish it, bring it up to the new spec and be able to sell it as a replacement. Yes, it would definitely add logistic costs but would significantly reduce material costs. Please keep up doing everything you do!
I ordered my Axis in late April, and I sure hope I'm able to score one of these upgraded chains!
Some manufacturers, when they have significant upgrades, offer a 50% discount if the client sends the old "model" back. In your case this might be too much for a client to remove and ship because of cost and downtime but maybe people more locally would take you up on it?
Also, they could be designed in such a way that they are an upgrade that can be added by the end user by simply BOLTING them on instead of welding as was suggested. Maybe they could be clamped on or directions to drill holes in their current setup and install these. I am sure there are some positive solutions to make everyone happy as this is a significant upgrade since I've seen this issue numerous times on numerous channels. GREAT FIX.
U do great work I like your videos
Thanks robert. Appreciate the support
Looks like a nice upgrade. How the improvements be looked at is people ordering now are paying 15% more then most units out there. So the new orders will get an upgraded chain due to R&D. Nothing wrong with that. Peace
Andrew I'm a big fan brother
Just an idea wouldn't want to tell you how to make anything k
How about bolt on claws for the lift rails
For the people that already have your wonderful equipment
Just an idea brother
Keep up the great work
Love the fact that you are a Canadian company building amazingly tuff and reliable equipment making made in Canada something to be proud of again
Thank you for the great videos
Have a good one
Just saying
Thanks for the support mike. Might be worth looking into!!!
That’s fantastic Andrew thank you! Now please install that toothy chain on the axis you are currently building for me. I’m in the que but not sure where….a ways back I think. I don’t mind the wait…the anticipation is awesome…I feel like a kid again. Good luck and keep up the good work…Jim
If you havent got the axis yet it will have it
Hi Andrew!!😀😀
The new conveyor chain seems to work much better.
Another thing I would like to see is a longer wedge on it like the one you tried out on a video you did.
I think about 3 to 5 inches longer than what it has would work better than the one you have on it now. It should be almost the same length as the table.
That's just my input!!😀😀👍👍💚
Logger Al
Makes sense Al. Really appreciate all the support
I agree. I tried to order it with the longer one and was told it’s not offered.
Andrew that conveyor is awesome! My only suggestion would be to space out the teeth to 18”-24” inches apart and no less than 18” inches! For your wood splitters and for the firewood processor’s just a little bit wider and use same teeth as firewood processor! Keep up the great and awesome work! Have a blessed day 🙏
Thanks kevin. Paddles are spaced 22-24" right now
What makes a best product in the world is a company that is always making improvements keeping up with technology (Growth) that’s why Eastonmade is #1 . 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
Thanks brad. Really appreciate the support
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters your welcome just like to help and spread the word when when there is amazing product I believe in and support the best way I can. Thank you for my game changer 12-22 🍻
Looks like that works better.
Fantastic news! The conveyor is the biggest gripe about my new Axis.
Appreciate the support chuck!!!
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters now, how can I get a set of paddles to weld to my chain?
I'm happy with chain vers. 1.0 but I also made a small change to the flapper at the base of the conveyor. Before the change I was kind of hating life...LOL Good to see the improvements being made in your product line.
@@circlebmn please explain your mods as that’s another area that needs improvement.
@@LakesideAcres what worked for me was to trim the rubber flapper so that it did not touch the bottom of the chute then add a stiffner behind it using the same hardware as the flapper mounts with. My stiffner is 1/4" HDPE cut to clear the paddle by maybe 1/4". The logic is the longer original flapper allows the woud to be lifted as the paddle passes and the leading edge of the paddle does not grab the wood. The stiffner is required as shortening the flap allows wood to fall down the end of the chute. Combined, the shorter flap and stiffner work together and have solved 99% of the issues I had using chain vers. 1.0 Lot of words but really a 10 minute job at most.
Should turn those spikes around to grab the wood better
Is there any reason you can’t sell the lugs so owners can just weld them on to their existing conveyer bars? Secondly, it would be awesome to see a tour of your manufacturing of the different products! 👍
Yes it could easily be sold just as pieces to weld on if someone wanted to. We have a couple of videos of the shop. We will try and get some more as time goes on. Really appreciate the feedback
Is the table on the left going to be extended about two inches to get the teeth away from the tire?
Looks like you fixed that! Great news! How much are the new chains and how do I order one? Bravo!!
Give us a call and henri can get one heading your way.
Hi Andrew any thoughts on what size chain you consider best , and is one center chain better than two ?
Very nice improvement!
Thanks harry!!!
G'day Andrew, Ohio Joe reckons out of all his equipment the only thing he would let someone borrow is his axis because you can't break it 👍.
Andrew, ever a chance you would be making a splitter attachment for a mini skidsteer?
Might do it in the future. Just dont have many mini skid steers around us to try them out
Great 💡 idea, MJM Tree service 👍👍 a splitter for a mini-skid would be awesome.
Just a dumb question, why are the curved teeth turned around, so the up right side of the tooth catches the wood and wont let it ride over. I mean the notches are a good idea but I think turning the teeth around would really catch anything that drops in the chute,, just MHO,,, ya done good
Hi Andrew, looking at purchasing an ultra in the very near future. Do the nee ultras come with a bigger push plate? I do some bigger issues logs and it would be great to have that bigger push plate
They now come standard with the bigger pusher
Nice. Have you guys ever built an axis with a more narrow left (conveyor) side? Would you be able to kind of just let the splits fall onto the conveyor? Also, any option for a "belt with paddle"conveyor on these?
We have thought about...only issue is the tire and hydralic tank get in the way
Since you're continuously making improvements on your machines, have you thought about a kind of "quality assurance" contract you can sell with your machines? People who buy this with the procurement of their splitter would be entitled to get these improvements as you bring them out. Benefit for you is up front and annual recurring income of cash that to could finance your R&D into these improvements.....
My little 2 cents .....
Cheers_Phil
That might be something worth exploring!!! Really appreciate the feedback
Do you have any free samples?
The conveyer seems to be able to move slower.
Will this reduce the power needed to run the conveyer?
Also slow moving things generally wear slower than fast moving things.
Yes it does. Yhe conveyor robs a little bit of flow from the cylinder.
Has Eastonmade thought about offering models with electric motors. Might be cheaper to build and operate depending on the customer's yard.
They're a little more to build. You will see them in the near future
I ordered an axis June 2nd, would it have the newer conveyer for sure by the time its ready or should I call and request it? I forgot to ask about the wedge length when I ordered as well. Seen you were testing other lengths not to long ago, did you find that longer worked better?
We normally dont change the length of the wedge. It will have the new chain on it
Will this be an easy bolt on conversion or does the whole chain have to be replaced?
Would be the entire chain
I also notice you’ve added more stiffening ribs to flatten the bottom of the conveyor. Mine is horribly rounded and BOTH ends of the paddles are cutting into the steel because the roller track is too low because the bottom is NOT flat. I sent photos showing this problem to warranty but was told it was “fine”. It really would be better to not tell a customer it’s “fine” while you’re making changes to address that exact problem. At least be honest with customers and don’t blow them off while you’re fixing the problem they’re having problems with.
Get ahold of henri in the morning and ill take a look early next week when im back. Im sure if its an issue we can get you fixed up
@@EastonmadeWoodSplitters thanks Andrew!
Can you roughen the deck where the wood rests during splitting. This would solve random kick outs under pressure
We have thought about it, but it would make it really difficult to maneuver the log inder the knife
I’ve thought about the same thing but spinning big rounds is more important to me than preventing the occasional “squirter”.
Watching you split, I think the left side of the table is to long. The effort to throw pieces over that could almost naturally just drop to conveyor...???
