Moameth Dark Rider Devourment. They are a brutal death metal band from Dallas formed sometime in the 90s. I think 97.. He died way back but he was a great vocalist just with a huge drinking problem (why he died)

Moameth Dark Rider if you are going to look up the band listen to their old stuff. Their old stuff was the best anything from Molesting The Decapitated is good

You probably won't read this but I wanted to say that you inspired me to scream, I mean I always screamed but I never put much effort, when I first listened to you, I got the tingles and it gave me an Eargasm, but I started to scream and SOME people say that I sound like you when I scream, and I saw you at the rock March 9th in Tucson Arizona, you guys were BADASS! The mosh pit was CRAZY! And your screams are to die for

I really appreciate it when people of an industry, release what works for them, and offers a lesson.
If people feel threatened to teach, they usually are afraid of competition.
    However.
It's not like people are going to get it right away.
It's taken me 10 years to sound like shit.
All you are doing by sharing techniques from a profession stance is expanding the genres potential with future and rising artists.
    Its beautiful seeing this.
    Thanks for posting your videos.

Ive been learning how to do your style of screams thru your videos but I cannot high scream without causing myself discomfort because I always have loved Whitechapel, early Suicide Silence and early Chelsea Grin. But I can hold some wicked gutturals. I kinda have the sound of when you did Unsanwered at the Mitch Lucker memorial show when I scream most of the time I from what Ive been told by many of my metalhead friends. Dont have the equipmemt for covers or video editing yet or id so post

    • @s.t.5590
      @s.t.5590 4 роки тому +1

TorrinVlogs practice to Satanic Warmaster for awhile if you want to learn highs. That made it so easy for me that by the time I got inti metal/death-core styles of music, highs were extremely easy and came natural to me. SW probably helps a lot because that’s all the vocalist does are high pitches screams maybe some can be considered mids, but I’m telling you practice to SW. it will take time, maybe even years. I taught myself from age 14-age -17 so it took about 4/5years before i really started breaking into things and getting good at it. However that’s also because I didn’t have much time to dedicate to practice and such so time length can vary from person to person.
Oh watch VoiceHacks too. That lady will help you learn highs too. But my main recommendation is listen to and practice to SW, you will eventually get highs.

a wind cup is a good thing, but they're usually built in to a mic on the inside of the head nowadays, but an extra windcup on there is usually good for cancelling out wind.
You almost always see news reporters with a mic with one of those fuzzy caps on the mic.
They can be beneficial for vocalists too, especially with metal where you have a lot of air movement coming from heavy drums, bas and guitar and even your own vocals.
it can basically reduce feedback, and make your own sound pop more.

I find that alot of times that the 'monk throat' voice gets in the way of my trying to acheive distortion... I am figuring out that the more 'falsetto' I push the distortion the better sound I can get personally.

Sick ass tips! Seen you live quite a few times and you kill every damn show you do. Defiantly one of my favorite vocalists by far!
And for everyone calling him a tomato. Turning red happens when you add pressure from your diaphragm while screaming with out the power behind it, the scream would be weak.

Oh, I think this is the best guttural lesson video, without the same words about practising))) I tried to make such sound like Phil, I've also moved tongue and found a sound i like even before watching this video. Phil is an only one, who told about this, noone mentioned it. I think it is the greates problem for people, who can't emagine how to do that. And Phil said about this shit.
The best Guttural Vocals lesson video, I think
