    before I got these down last year, while I was trying to work on them, I went to do one and gagged and instantly threw up all over my microphone.
    it was fucked.
    BUT THE POWER AND BROOT OF THIS STYLE OF VOCALS ARE SO FUCKING WORTH IT

    Goddamn dude is a beast. I had been letting my own vocals slip away from me and this dude "re-inspired" me to get back on track. "Misbegotten One" changed my life. Thanks dude. I hope to hear another "Dialectic" album soon.

    I had my doubts, but that was convincing. If Mitch doesn't make it in the metal industry, he could easily be a voice actor with that technique.

      One thing though. In your explanation, when you say you put your tongue against the bottom teeth and make a slope. By slope, you mean point the tip of the tongue upwards while keeping the tongue against the teeth, or put like the middle of your tongue upwards?

    do you think you have to have a certain gene to do vocals? or do you think anyone can do it with practice, like ive always been able to do highs super easy, like without practive, but the second i try doing low vocals it just sounds like shit and its hard on me voice and shit.

    Hey Mitch, was wondering how long I should be able to do this before it gets painful, I can get about 10 solid minutes in optimal conditions, seems like maybe I'm screwing up the technique.

    • @MauiHowie666
      @MauiHowie666  10 років тому +2

      Just do it until your voice begins to crack, stop. If it hurts too badly, you may be performing it wrong. It is alot of air, but not a lot of pressure. So don't strain yourself doing it. Just take it easy if it hurts.

    Can you explain how to do your standard vocals? I believe i'm a fry vocalist and i've watched a few tutorials on how to do false chord, i'm still unsure if i'm doing it right, and I have no clue how to do Gutturals (which I also want to learn) just seems like no one out there explains it in a way that I can replicate and understand.

  • @Skatelocks
    @Skatelocks 9 років тому

    When you say normal screams, do you mean fry or false chord? Everyone has a different definition for it, and if so, what do you do do this with? Can it be done with fries and false chord?

    • @danrob7439
      @danrob7439 9 років тому

      All of what Mitch does is false chord. And yes it can be done with fry. And what he means by a normal scream is without tongue position.

    • @Skatelocks
      @Skatelocks 9 років тому

      Yeah that's what I figured. I do these with false chord, for me it doesn't sound as good when it's done with the fry technique.

      Frank Mayhew What i do is curl my toung upwards on the roof of my mouth like a reverse hotdog, it allows me to use correct pronunciation while getting a beasty sound. though it takes a while to actually get, ive been doing it for over 9 - 10 months now and i still have yet to get a correct breathing pattern for it to last long.
