As a garage mechanic, I have used my cooking oven to heat bearings, case halves, any number of interference fit parts for years and never had a single issue. Ofcourse I clean up the parts before I put them on there
Will a kx 85 cylinder work on a kx 100 bottom? Curious. I need a whole bottom. End for my 2006 kx 85. Amd was thinking about using a kx 100 bottom end Cades amd all. And slapping the kx85 cylinder and piston kit on it. If it's possible. Any info
I have a confusion, with the crankshaft in thread and the crankshaft with the clip. Could someone explain to me? I'm a bit lost with that. HELLLPP AND THANK YOU FOR HELPING
Buddy of mine has a kx100 bored stroked sleeved raced and clapped out that thing gives big bore bikes a run for their money 160 lbs and 40 horse it feels like this death scooter on dirt
Hey I have question my left side case has some bad scrapes from a crank that had a bearing explode inside was all replaced but the previous owner may have installed the new bearings improperly and they failed but did not explode and it seized so I am wondering if it could have been the case itself that caused it but the bearing seat in the case has no damage at all
Just to be clear, the left crank bearing exploded, the engine was rebuilt, then the left crank bearing seized? Is that right? Was the connecting rod big end bearing ok? Did any foreign material get in the bearing or was it not getting enough lubrication? How do the rest of the parts look? -Charles
Well, I've seen gears weld in place from no oil/getting hot (check our CRF450R bottom end rebuild), does it look like that? Did you double check to make sure it's supposed to be a freewheeling gear? It's hard to imagine it rusting on if there was oil in it, but you can always try penetrating oil if you think it is.
I'm not sure if you need the actual cylinder or just the piston, but we do have piston kits and other engine parts available for your KX85 here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/dirt-bike-engine?v=2015-kawasaki-kx85
@@tripleefl5053 You can get the OEM cylinder and/or piston from our OEM parts finder, but the cylinder is a bit pricey. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-parts/Kawasaki
@@rmatvmc Yea I changed my mined, I bought the parts and it comes on Monday. Ima be soo happy and Im going to watch your video on how to assemble the parts thank you so much! 🙏🏻

This here works on the 1998-2000 Kawasaki Kx80 engine, a whole lot of the same stuff
This video is gold
Indeed!
When splitting, tighten the case splitter and use a center punch and tap on the counter shaft to keep the cases even
We'll have to test that out next time we have a stubborn case. Thanks. -Charles
did a kx 100 rebuild 2 years ago and couldnt find one good video on how to do it, of corse here it is, just a little late.😂
Sorry about that. We've got you for next time lol - Wes
Nice work
Hey rocky mountain i was just wondering if this works the same on an rm 100 and also where can you buy the crank and all the bearings.

Which size is that flywheel puller?

what is that little spring on the shift shaft going from one end to the other
Are the kx85 and kx100 bottom ends identical?
The whole motor is the same. 100’s are just big bored 85’s
thats the best way to look at it

I about died at 14:15-14:21 with it touldn't ,shouldn't take too much effort. The brain can't always keep up with us great techs! Hahaha
Does thissame rebuild process apply to a rm85? Sorry i am new to bikes
No rm85 is different the rest of the 2t rn/kx are the same
How offten should i replace motobike
wheels beering
Would a 2006 have a snap ring or a bolt on the primary gear
Hey Rocky Mountain, I have a 96 kx80. One of the gears in the transmission is supposed to free wheel but wont. How can I free it up?

My stator plate looks like it has 3 screws??
I have a 95 kx80 is it the same concept?
Yeah, but there will be some differences. I don't think you'll have a power-valve on yours. -Charles
Tools list?
The first link in the description will take you to all the parts and tools used in this rebuild.
I know how to do this but hey 😁
