    As a garage mechanic, I have used my cooking oven to heat bearings, case halves, any number of interference fit parts for years and never had a single issue. Ofcourse I clean up the parts before I put them on there

    When splitting, tighten the case splitter and use a center punch and tap on the counter shaft to keep the cases even

      We'll have to test that out next time we have a stubborn case. Thanks. -Charles

    Will a kx 85 cylinder work on a kx 100 bottom? Curious. I need a whole bottom. End for my 2006 kx 85. Amd was thinking about using a kx 100 bottom end Cades amd all. And slapping the kx85 cylinder and piston kit on it. If it's possible. Any info

    Hey I have question my left side case has some bad scrapes from a crank that had a bearing explode inside was all replaced but the previous owner may have installed the new bearings improperly and they failed but did not explode and it seized so I am wondering if it could have been the case itself that caused it but the bearing seat in the case has no damage at all

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 роки тому +1

      Just to be clear, the left crank bearing exploded, the engine was rebuilt, then the left crank bearing seized? Is that right? Was the connecting rod big end bearing ok? Did any foreign material get in the bearing or was it not getting enough lubrication? How do the rest of the parts look? -Charles

    Would a 2006 have a snap ring or a bolt on the primary gear

    Hey Rocky Mountain, I have a 96 kx80. One of the gears in the transmission is supposed to free wheel but wont. How can I free it up?

    • @CharlesTheWrench
      @CharlesTheWrench 2 роки тому

      Well, I've seen gears weld in place from no oil/getting hot (check our CRF450R bottom end rebuild), does it look like that? Did you double check to make sure it's supposed to be a freewheeling gear? It's hard to imagine it rusting on if there was oil in it, but you can always try penetrating oil if you think it is.

    Hey rock mountain! I was wondering if you had a cylinder piston kit for a 2015 kx85?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 роки тому +1

      I'm not sure if you need the actual cylinder or just the piston, but we do have piston kits and other engine parts available for your KX85 here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/dirt-bike-engine?v=2015-kawasaki-kx85

      @@tripleefl5053 You can get the OEM cylinder and/or piston from our OEM parts finder, but the cylinder is a bit pricey.
