Thank you for the KX85 rebuild series. They were a HUGE help in rebuilding the “only needs a top end” KX85 I bought for my son (spoiler: it needed a lot more than a “top end”). My first ever engine rebuild and it went surprisingly well.
I think i watched every motor rebuild on youtube😂😂 now to watch these💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
I like it! Keep up the good work! - Wes
I got a 1999 kx80 and put an 06 kx100 piston and cylinder in it runs mint 👌

Brilliant Charles!!
Just finished up the top end on my sons race bike. Too easy. Thanks.
Snappy walk-through, thank you. I was intrigued by your wrist pin removal tool.
Glad it was helpful!
I thought you said make sure you have a clean bike first!..LOL...Thank you guys these videos help more than you know, im just starting to tear down my sons 2022 KX85 hopefully it goes well
Great video. Very informative and well done. Thank you, guys.
Just did this and installed the cylinder before lining up the power valve shaft. Appears it has to come back off to line up. I can’t get the angle with the cylinder on
9:48 The problem is, they don't want to unscrew. I tried so hard, i messed up those
I’ve never rebuilt any type of motor in my life… however, I have a kx 85 that’s been sitting for like 3-4 years and I’m well aware it needs a new top end. My dad rebuilt it the first time and he’s not around right now so I want to try and do it myself is there anything I should and should not do ?? I need tips I want to ride the bike again. Thank you
You got it bro
How'd the rebuild go?
you ever do it
I put a new piston in my kx85 however the power valve is catching on my piston. Plus the piston I bought my jug will not go bk on because it's like the ring's are to big
What type of muriatic acid do u use?
How similar is this to a kx125?
My bike runs great and sitting at about 108psi compression 😂 still going to do a top end though
Can you remove the power valve to clean it without removing the head and jug?
Do you have a link to the kit in this video?
Wonder how many people don't put a rag around the piston
I have a 1995 kx100
Are the engine parts the same though the years
At 12 hours I'd have to rebuild it 5 times a month
Would 52.61 be bad for the reading the jug got ??? I just plan to do top end but it sure if it's only needing that or sleeve ect
Can you build a kx85cc engine
You guys should do a rebuild on the Kawasaki gs550 you guys have.
Thanks, I enjoyed watching the video. I have a question, when should I move to a larger piston, and is there any work I can do about increasing the cylinder gap? I have a Kawasaki KX100 2013 bike. The piston gap now is 52.52 mm, and the service limits are 52.60, since I rebuilt it. piston and piston ring stand, and the pressure was 75 psi, and it is supposed to be between 119-180 psi, i.e. directives in this matter to gain high pressure in the engine
It sounds like you may need to measure your cylinder and order the next size up piston. Piston manufacturers will have many different sized pistons so you can get the one that matches your cylinder diameter appropriately.

I have a kx 112. Will these videos still hold true?
There may be some small differences but these videos should still help with your rebuild.
Around 6:25 i cant get that arm to move out the way what should i do
Bike engine is so dirty?
Are the cylinder and crankshaft of a 2013 Kawasaki KX 100 compatible with a 2017 model?
No, they use different part numbers between those years.
Does the kx85 2010 engine look the same????
It will be very similar. You should be able to do the top end on that bike just fine watching this video.
@@rmatvmc every 01-013 is basicly the same bike
@@rmatvmc My friend has this 2016 KX100 he bought for about $650 he needs the crankshaft, bearings, seals & gaskets replaced, do you think it would be worth it? He's planning on riding it only for a little then wants to sell for profit.
Yes, pretty much identical to this video. I rebuilt my sons 2010 KX85 using this (and the associated vids).
12.5 hrs... just get that rebuilt once a month ... jesus....

I have a kx100 my self the thing got some kick 🦾🏍
12 hours wtf
😂 Seems crazy but that's what Kawasaki recommends. Get your compression tester out 😉 -Charles
Must be for 12hours on full throttle.
I went 90 hours
@@Balbas831 did the cylinder survive? 🤔😁
Can 2013 kx85 parts fit 2022 sounds silly but I need an answer please community 🙏
There were design changes so the engine part numbers are different for the 2013 and 2022 KX85.
