So as of the time of this comment, i am 15, I just finished a full rebuild on my 2008 kx85, i post this comment in hopes to encourage people and prove that it isnt as hard is it may seem. Also thank you sooo much for the vid, it was really helpful and structurely sound, helped me get my bike fixed.
Just like to say thank you for the guides got my kid 85 for Xmas now it has a full rebuild you saved my bacon first time ever building one 😂 thank you very much
We love hearing that! Glad you got everything figured out and were able to tackle the job on your own.
We got our boy his new 2022 KX85 for Christmas, and he Absolutely loves it! Thanks for these videos they are deffinetely going to help a lot of people..Thank You RMATV!
Огромное спасибо за такое видео и в целом за Вашу работу. У меня в России мало специалистов по такой технике. Огромный респект!
Пожалуйста! Спасибо за просмотр!
Thanks for the in depth series for this rebuild. My son just put straight gas in his 2021 KX100. That was my fault for not teaching him the color of the fuel going in. Anyway, I ended up getting all OEM parts which are super pricey. Especially the cylinder. Crank checked OK so it looks like I got somewhat lucky. The bike wasn't run hard on straight gas. Only until it wouldn't start. Some piston material was deposited on the cylinder wall and the piston ring was seized on one side at the gap. The whole thing didn't seize up. We live and learn.
This video series and channel is awesome!! Thank you!!
Glad you enjoy it!
Thank you so much man you helped out a lot
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the video awesome to follow along to. I am trying to figure out if my 97 kx100 is supposed to have the two dowel pins on the bottom end to cylinder studs. Mine did not have them when I opened it up. If so where can I get the correct pins?
Best video
You say part two when this starts but its listed as part 4
Part 2 of top end part 4 or rebuild
Great video!
Bellissimo video molto preciso. Grazie.
I just redid the top end on my 07 kx100. Should it bog even after being warm on the first or second crank? It was running really crisp before but now won't rev out. It's still in the beginning of being broke in
Disregard, I had the carb/needle jet installed incorrectly. Runs great now.
Please do cr125 top end next
What transmission oil u recommend
Bravo preciso 👍👍io ho un kx85 motard !!!
Not like it will fall out or anything. So I’m hoping it will be okay. Bc like I said it was slid in from left to right. not right to left like you mention and like the book mentions. So hope to hear back saying that it is fine. Bc I really don’t want to have to take things back apart to fix it
I wonder why the torque values for some of the the cylinder fasteners (bolts) changed from 18lbft to 15 on the 2022 112? They also changed the order.
love the videos
Good 👏
How heavy did you mix your fuel?
Where can I find the top end rebuild with the cylinder head included
All the parts and tools we used in this video are linked in the description. The Cylinder Works cylinder kit will come with the piston kit, cylinder, and gaskets but won't include the cylinder head. If you need a cylinder head, you may have to check the OEM parts finder here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/oem-parts/Kawasaki
Will this rebuild process work on a 2000 kx 80? I know it says it’s for the 85 and 100 but I was thinking it might be similar enough to base my build off of this but I’m not too sure on it
It should be almost the same but when pulling the top end down you shouldn’t have to worry about power valve stuff
Idk if you will see this im a little late. But you didnt do anything with the ring gap. Does that not matter?
Most quality pistons will come with properly sized piston rings that won't require any gapping. But it is a good idea to check the ring gap and make sure it falls within your specs.
This video was very helpful. but unfortunately I put the bike back all together. Before seeing g this video. and I may have put the pin in the wrong way for the power valve. But when I took everything apart it Was put in from the left side sliding to the right side. but there shouldn’t be any difference really between what side it slides in from because it all looked pretty uniform
Hope to hear back from you thanks ,hope you understand what I’m trying to explain lol
What type of issue is the bike having?
No way that cylinder went on that easy
💎
👌🏻
i didnt see any ring gap measurements in the cylinder. no measuring of squish or piston to head clearance which is important for a good performing engine then of course its important to make sure fueling is correct. why does every body just shove a piston in and think its ok. thats not how you builld an engine. uyou should know this.
You make everything look to easy lol
Cause it is lol
