    Does your clutch feel like it's slipping, chattering, or just not operating correctly? It's most likely time to replace it, or at the very least, inspect the clutch components for wear. So, in this video we show you the proper procedures to replace the clutch on a Kawasaki KX100. The steps shown will be similar for all year Kawasaki KX85 and KX100 dirt bikes but check your OEM service manual if you are unsure.

    I have a KX 80 I put new clutch plates in. I installed the cover. I have no tension on my clutch at all. I squeeze it. It doesn’t retract back.

    My clutch on my 01 kx100 doesn’t seem to disengage fully. Won’t kick over. Only way is bump start. After I ride it for a minute it starts to work again. Check the plates and basket. All seems well. Any idea of what the problem can be ?

      You need to add one or two shims in between the release rod and pressure plate bearing until you reach the 15 degree angle I mentioned. On the newer bikes, the manual might give you a measurement. You'll find those shims on the OEM diagram on our website. They should be part number: 92025-1780 but verify that on the diagram. Let me know if you have any more questions -Charles

    Very nice vid, thanks. You oiled the bearing race and soaked the clutch friction discs in red "transmission oil". Finally you added red oil to the case. Is this oil MA2 rated motorcycle oil? Does the engine share this oil with the clutch and tranny?

      @sveref 2 роки тому +1

      the engine gets the oil from the fuel that is mixed with 2stroke oil the red oil is "just" transmission oil :)

    Hi! One of my bikes I have is a ‘07 kx100. The clutch worked fine one day, I put it away, and the next time I rode it the clutch didn’t work. It’ll shift, but when I pull the clutch lever in, the clutch won’t disengage. Any idea what it is? Thanks

    does this transfer to kx 112? and do i need plates if i put my bike in gear and it doesnt move if i give it any amount of throttle

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  6 місяців тому

      Yes, this process should be the same for the KX112. Check the clutch adjustments to make sure those are set correctly before replacing the clutch. But it does sound like something in the clutch system is the problem most likely.

    Hey I have a 2009 kx85 and just installed a asv clutch lever but now the clutch won’t engage so it’s not letting me coast in gear or take off , I think I might of stretch the cable but I want to know if I need to order new clutch plates or something??? Please help me

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  2 роки тому

      If all you did was change the lever, it's more likely something simpler. Did you check the adjustments on the cable by the lever?

    • @NHR_Joey
      @NHR_Joey 2 роки тому

      @@rmatvmc yes I did check but I adjusted the cable at the lever to the max and minimum and still doesn’t let me put it into gear and roll , but all I did was changed the lever and bracket to the f4 ASV lever so I’m not sure what I did wrong I’m gonna check the actuator arm in the morning and see if it’s too far back

      I would personally download a user manual for your bike off the internet and use a PDF reader for that. That way you know for sure that the instructions apply to your bike.
