Today we're checking out a classic Gundam title. One from the PlayStation 2's Golden Age. Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs Zeon Let's see how it holds up.
“If the idea of piloting a grunt Mobile suit to your certain death sounds appealing to you then boy do I have a game for you!” What, me playing Support on GBO2 when my team crumbles and lets the Raids through? Also Federation Forever!
I pulled a stark Jegan move on the Sazabi using the RGM-79N GM Custom and won and almost downed the Sinanju before tm8s came in and helped I almost died hard tbh to Sinanju
@ChadmasterDante I didn't get left behind I bummed rushed the Sazabi because it was destroying my whole team so I was screw it all or nothing I managed to turn match around because of how I set up my GM Custom using lots of health parts and some a lot of protection parts against beam weapons and just targeted the Sazabi while my team focused the lower skilled players plus it was a general use MS
Amuro on the zeon side is terrifying in zeon campaign. Low key turns into a survival horror with mechs 😅 since he can one shot or combo you easily until you get more durable units.
@@Rallzit In the mission on Texas colony I was able to beat amuro only with chars gelgoog. But I had to trap him in the cliff. It takes 30 minutes lol but it's doable.
I remember feeling cocky and taking on the mission to delay the White Base as Zeon retreats into orbit in nothing but a Zaku 1. I felt like it was a real achivement to shoot down the Guncannon and Guntank while playing enough of a game of tag with Amuro to run down the timer. Those were an exhausting 15 minutes.
This is what the more recent Gundam games lack. Being able to play as yourself. A faceless grunt who will most likely die faster than you can say It's a Gundam.
True. And the emulation of being a slow giant robot whose shield can break and have limited dodging. The new Gundam vs games feel like iron man suits fighting eachother. No sense of being giant.
Climax UC does it even better. You can't select the missions on the map thought, only factions what you will fight for. Sadly, it was never translated. Then there is games like Gundam Assault Survive or Gundam Seed Battle Destiny that have even better playable character customization.
@@Rayan-yw2xd Age games on PSP (there is two but it's really the one with two options for additional suits) kinda does it, but only for a short while. Old MS Gundam Online (when we all fought for Australia) is probably the most similar experience to this.
I always felt like the Federation route was a lot tougher than the Zeon one. Once you lose access to the Ground Gundam and GM, you're pretty hosed for backup suits in Space.
You really ARE a gunt in this game. Playing on Zeon side, comming across any of the white base crew, especially armuro, meant that you where in serious Danger. Amuro one shots most Zeon MS, and yours is no exception
heh. Ive just been doing a feddie campaign of this recently. I forgot how rough some of the "story" missions could be. Noting your camera comments at the 6:30 mark, you do have to remember, this is a port of an arcade game.
I love playing just grunts and nameless soldiers in franchises. So Fed vs Zeon and like the Star Wars Battlefront games fulfils that fantasy for me. Sieg Zeon! For the Empire! EDIT: Ah you mentioned Battlefront. I loved the campaign giving you upgraded suits, I loved the enhanced Zaku I with the Commander Horn. It would be cool if the more modern or a new Gundam Versus entry would have an extensive campaign like FvZ.
I loved playing these gundam games in the PS2. I was motivated enough and challenged myself by using the grunt models more than the special mobile suits and with how the suits varies in controls. You do feel like an Ace Pilot simply because you know how to pilot the generic, mass produced ones very well and can take down dozens of suits with them. And that satisfaction taking out a Gundam while using a Zaku, priceless. Especially since you do know how superior that suit was after using it and saying to yourself. "Nah. I feel more comfortable with this one".
Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam woulda been better but it was impossible to find. I still have this game, Zeonic Front and Gundam Battle Assault 1 & 2 on my Gundam shelf. There is a New Game + mode after you beat the game. Earth/Space map turns red and you have a limited number of MS.
Yeah, and it's a shame that ROM sites are starting to get cracked down on, because it's going to make it harder for folks to enjoy games like Gundam vs Zeta that are getting more expensive and harder to find. Maybe it means we will be getting re-masters in the future though.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon was one of my favorite games to play on the ps2. I played it all the time. I played both the Zeon & Federation sides but my favorite side was the Zeon because it had a wider selection of MS & my favorite MS was the very one that gave the Federation side a hard time, the Gelgoog, especially the Char's custom version. All hail Zeon!
We are forgetting a few secrets such as RX-78 when it loses it's shield it can now make use of both it's sabers and butcher things within seconds but at the cost of being not protected depending on it's position.
All of these ps2 era Gundam games were so awesome. Journey to Jaburo was one of the first games I got on the system, only one I never really got to play was Zeonic Front.
I remember playing this game on New Years Eve 2002 and having the PS2 unplugged so my family could watch the ball drop. Easily put 100+ hours into the splitscreen with my friends... Getting your first 3-star Zaku and seeing that satisfying helmet fin (in green no less!) was a real treat, same as your first green gundam or your red-white-and-blue Zaku. Blows my mind that Bandai abandoned the Vs. format in favor of Extreme Vs.
While I love this game for as you said the ability to be a grunt mobile suit pilot during the One Year War and the ability to use captured enemy mobile suits, something that I wished Zeonic Front had, I actually preferred the Gundam vs Zeta Gundam game instead of this one at times. As it had some decent "what if" mission which does change things with the main story. Like one memorable mission you can play where you as a AEUG pilot end up fighting against Titan-colored Nemo mobile suits which was quite interesting. You can also "save" some of the killed characters from both the original series and Zeta Gundam. Like saving Lalah during the end of the original series or keeping Emma Sheen alive at the end of Zeta. Such things will result in an aternative line of missions which really does change things with the game and its story. Though I don't remember if Gundam vs Zeta Gundam had that using captured enemy mobile suit gimmick that this game sported. Sigh.
Love the game, so much fun, played is so many time. I had the goal of taking down every instances that Amuro's gundam was in the mission, even if he was supposed to be unbeatable and the only one I never managed to get him in the Texas Colony mission, despite being a hair breath of getting him with Gyan. God he is a nightmare to beat and I can get why the Zeon rightly feared the Gundam. It was fun doing various VS combo with getting both sides MS and AM available and do the most uneven tables like beating three Gundam's in the Ball or Zaku1; you grow to appreciate a well timed crack grenades' throw very quickly. Weirdly enough Agguy was particularly dangerous and useful if you overlooked the slow waddling, take the time to practice with it; man was it's head Vulcans useful, and the arm cannon had quite a punk if you timed it right, and it's CqC could seriously shreed you. This game was ENDLESS fun, and G VS ZG was just as fun.
@@SuperDarkSamurai1 The Gelgoog, even Char's, is just not fast enough to respond to the fully buffed up Gundan with an easy escape. I got way better results with the Gyan which is the only MS who is as fast at the Gundam and it's shield can take more then one or two direct hits, along with two weapons which could stun and knock out well in the middle of CqC but not actually knockout the Gundam, which was it's recovery invulnerability which made it maddeningly impossible to actually. The best strategy that I found was to corner him in the cesium, but it's also it's rout of escape, and I never could see to be able to steer it away from that area of the map. Still respect to anyone who actually managed that on hard
Yeah I did this with Char and the only stage I could ever really reliably really kill him on was the Jaburo one where he shows up in the interior and trying to trap him by the buildings as the stage won't progress until he's defeated and he keeps trying to move to a specific part of the stage to leave rather than leaving at any border like the Aces do on most stages. Most other stages either were timed and he just had too much health for it to really be feasible or he was teamed up with Lalah and avoiding her while taking him down is just impossible.
Awesome game, was everything that I wanted from a Gundam game back in the day. I own a copy of Gundam vs ZZGundam, which I hear most people say is the superior game but honestly I think I prefer Federation vs Zeon despite the smaller roster.
I got this game in my early teens, I played through this game so much its really fun. I played it again a few years ago and its still just as good for a mobile suit gundam game.
I sunk an insane amount of hours into this game when it came out. BandaiNamco has no idea how much a game like this would be appreciated again minus the fighting game aspect the VS series has become. There is a Gundam SEED variant called Federation VS ZAFT, unfortunately it's a Japanese only release.
One of my favorites I still have my copy from when I was younger and I have it on the retroid pocket 3. I love the campaign wish they did the same for gvszg
Damn!!! I still remember playing this one on the PS2, had a lot of fun with the missions and unlocking suits, I love playing as the grunts, the resupply mechanic is a pain sometimes but it forces you to try out different units that you probably wouldn't have otherwise
I loved playing as a Zeon pilot and getting my hands on a RX-78-2 it was fun to use it when fighting Amuro . Now I want to pull out my old trusty PS2 and fire Fed vs Zeon up or Zeonic Front.
Arguably the greatest Gundam game ever. Other names in the hat.... Zeonic front ps2 and 0079 side story dreamcast. Honorable mentions to Gundam battle assault PS1. Wealth and glory to the winner!
TBH, in regular mode I would use the captured Zaku a lot. The GM is not that great. I would also use the captured Z'Gok. Slower, but it does more damage. I actually prefer Char's Gelgoog to the Gundam. Way more agile. But if you want easier game play, choose Zeon. You get beam weapons much earlier. You aren't having to try to shoot Doms, which are harder to hit. Same for Gelgoogs. And the secret to hitting your target isn't just the red reticle. Look for a suit's rhythmic pause. This is BEST the time to shoot. Also, never use bazookas or missile launchers. It ruins your accuracy stats. EVERY missile & rocket counts as TWO shots. If you kill all your enemies without missing you will still get a 50% accuracy rating. When you have to fight the Big Zam, use the Char's Zaku you should've already captured & use it's Machine Gun. Beams will just bounce off of it's force field. The rhythmic pause works in space too. It's just a lot harder. And the missile/rocket rule apples to your Gun Cannon & Gun Tanks Cannons. Then when you bear the game, go into EX Mode. The game will be harder, bit you have ALL mobile suits. You can use Char's Gelgoog or Gundam on your second mission. The only time you can't pick a suit is when a level decides the suit or you are forced to use an aquatic suit. But besides that any suit whenever you like. No land/aquatic suits in space, nor the Big Zam, which is way too hard to pilot. Downside to EX mode, when a suit takes too much damage, you lose it forever. And again fighting on Zeon's side is much easier as you don't have to shoot at Doms & Gelgoogs. BTW, the game looks amazing to this day. Showed my cousin this game around 2005. He asked was it brand new. I told him it was from 2001.
Randomly saw this game at Hollywood video when I was younger, and had only seen Wing and G on Toonami. When they closed down, I made sure to buy it(and Zeonic Front), and I put hundreds of hours into them both for years. THIS is what I want in a Gundam game, not the newer VS style
I genuinely enjoy the "Grunt Experience" in a lot of games. I remember playing Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise from the Ashes on the Dreamcast and wondered if you can cover that game too
I will sound like a crazy person that may need to get shot, but I would like a gundam game where its strictly first person, IE style of mech warrior where you are "looking out of your cock pit", of course if your head gets destroyed you are forced to expose yourself. That is just me, the idea of Gundam being grounded, be it anime or game seems to be a concept that is terrifying.
I played vs Zeta and as much as I enjoyed the combat and variety of mechs you could pilot the game had no place being 40+ hours long. So many of the alternate timelines in the story felt redundant and could have just been done in form of teams or lets say "you can play this mission as this this this and that character but this other variation of continuity can only be accessed by that one character etc". As it is you have to play each identical timeline with every character involved separately, which often leads to playing the same set of stages 5-10 times over, it really doesn't make the game more fun, it just makes it take longer. How long does it take to beat Federation vs Zeon in both modes? is it shorter than vs Zeta?
Fed vs Zeon was definitely shorter, it just depends on how long you spend in the Arcade mode. I spent probably half the time in it compared to Gundam vs Zeta, and I haven't even 100%'d it.
Extra mode was so hard and man it sucked to lose a high star/quality good suit. I did try to cheese it a bit and use the goofy suits as shields and kept my good ones for the last half. Rolling in an upgraded RX78 and being able to one shot Doms and Gelgoogs is a great time.
The aiming in this game is terrible. I cant count the ammount of times i had full target lock, fired and missed without the enemy taking evasive action.
I played this game and Gundam VS Zeta Gundam and Gundam VS Gundam on PSP as well back in the day. The controls are what frustrated me the most and having to lock on to certain targets especially during the more difficult missions was annoying to me. Thanks for making another great video!
I wish I had this game and The second game when I was younger because I would have had so much fun with these 2 titles but now they're just really expensive and hard to find. I know I could just emulate them but I don't have a powerful enough computer to actually emulate them and even if I did there's something magical about playing a physical game in your hands.
Love this game. I played it a lot as both Fed and Zeon, but mostly Zeon. I would cringe and my hands would be sweaty whenever I had to face Amuro and the Gundam, just doing my utmost to stay alive while still fighting him. Still is a great game to play.
I miss the days of sifting through undisirable ps2 discs at gamestop, I remember going a city over just to get this disc only for 3 dollars 😢 I still own it. The only regret I have in my lifetime tho, is not getting the sequel that was 14 bucks. I was like 13 at the time, my parents wanted me to grow up and take a break from video games... I wasn't really that obsessive over games, it was more the deal and scarcity is what appealed to me 😅 And I'm proven right to this day lol
The first console I ever had growing up was the PS2 and my Dad happened to have Gundam vs Zeta Gundam. I absolutely loved that game. I have so many memories of playing it with my Dad. The selection of different suits is probably my most favorite part.
Gundam Federation Vs. Zeon is so good, and it's sequel, Gundam VS Zeta Gundam also goes hard. These were my first experiences with the franchise, along with the currently at the time airring Gundam 00. I still think this game, and VS Zeta have the best control vibes for a Gundam Game, just so weighty and the way the Mobile Suits, especially the grunts or older models seem to shudder with each movement like how I'd expect something that tanky to walk around. A Far cry from later titles that often seem to overexaggerate the boost, making things seem far more floaty and quicker paced, with less of that punch every movement and attack has in this title. Really Really great stuff.
Only big complaint of campaign is the Federation complete lack of midgrade-uppermid space suits lack of weapon options. Makes Federation end game soooooo much harder than Zion who get you get flushed with more than you even need. Beam rifles on lowerly GM's is kind of terrible compared since you do crap damage and huge amounts of time between shots and recharges.
My Favourite Grunts Zeons: Zaku II (Regular, Commander Type, Cannon, Half Cannon, High Mobility Type), Goufs, Gyan, Gelgoog, Zaku I Sniper Type Earth Fed: GM Sniper II, Sniper K9, Jeddahs to ReZEL ZAFT (SEED): GINN (Regular, Insurgent Type, Assault Type, High Maneuver Type, Long Range Reconnaissance Type), CGUE(Regular, Assault, DEEP Arms), GuAIZ, GuAIZ R, DINN (Regular, AWACS, RAVEN), Zaku Phantom Blaze, Gouf Ignited, Gelgoog Menace, Gyan Strom United Nations Forces (00): All GN-X variants and successors.
2002? God I miss this game. I played this game so often. Especially the campaign. Love using the ground combat Gundam. I want an avatar editor so you can see your character get promoted.
About the difficulty: you have to keep in mind this game is based on an arcade coin-up machine, and as such is built to purpousely become increasingly hard and unfair as you keep progressing without dieing. Also, don't even bother trying to shoot the characters from the show, they have plot armor and as the vid said can oneshot you easily, so just stay away from them and watch from the distance.
The Zero-G soace stages always had rough controls. In the sequel its a tiny bit better when you have MSes that transform. Helps out with things in general.
I love this game, but the gameplay is SUPER restrictive and clunky. Future Versus iterations didn't help much, and layered a convolution on top of it. PS: If you enjoyed this check out Gotcha Force, which is essentially Gundam Versus meets Pokémon.
Game was so much fun. I tried so hard to get a high newtype rating but it became so impossible as the game progressed. By the end you are just constantly dodging and firing wildly hoping to get kills. What a blast. The comparison to the Battlefront series is pretty apt. I would KILL to have Bandai create a battlefield style OYW game. Where I can start at a base and go infantry and get cooked or maybe get lucky and grab an MS and fly out.
I feel like something worth noting is that these quite slow and deliberate games, Federation Vs. Zeon and Gundam Vs. Zeta Gundam, would eventually evolve into the Gundam Extreme Vs. series... gameplay-wise, at least. In terms of presentation, 20 years of change has moved the tone from a grounded story-based game to a shooter/fighting game where iconic Gundam characters spout voicelines at a frequency not seen anywhere else that Bandai Namco refuses to release outside of Japanese arcades.
God i miss this game...i found it at a gamestop for 20 bucks so many years ago when the PS2 was still the large vcr box....so many hours just unlocking stuff for arcade mode...
Common misconception, Gundam Vs Zeta Gundam is *Not* a sequel to Federation vs Zeon, it's a sequel to Aeug vs Titans which Was the actual sequel to Federation vs Zeon, unfortunately it was never localized for whatever reason while Gundam vs Zeta Gundam was. It's a real shame because AEUG vs Titans had a similar story mode to Federation vs Zeon where you fight as a soldier during the Gryps Conflict.
I love the premise of playing as a regular mobile suit pilot. This game would be something I’d want to play. I love the strategy involved too, prepping for battle and whatnot. However… HP bars kinda turn me off. I love playing ArmA, War Thunder, DCS World, etc… I love to feel immersed in history or fantasy, and witnessing and feeling a sort of realistic environment. The day Gundam comes out with a simulator type game, I’ll be putting in thousands of hours into it.
All i can say is...To be enemy of Amuro is dangerous but to be friends with Amuro is fatal in this game...Also I'm GM lover...Federation GM suit my tastes...I tell you this game is hard as hell since old Ai from 2000 era cannot been programme like nowadays so that it will be balance...at every difficulty is like Dark Souls difficulty...Main Character and Protagonist is worst of all...oh boi you better get your leg moving...keep dodging and stay away from melee fight with them...man this game make you really feel like fighting a newtype and Ace pilot Mobile Suits...two mobile suits that help me progress the hardest missions No 1 GunTank(it a glass cannon but it firepower is what you need plus you can a few spares of them) and lastly No 2 Gundam(a bit durable against Boss, firepower is great and man this thing is very mobile as if it got magnetic coating)... honourable mention why i like Federation Mobile Suits in this game is the Shield 🛡️...it save me ton of times especially against Boss battle...i Luv GM(space type/vanilla) and Gundam Shield thanks to it size manage to block most of enemy shot until it destroys...For this i can say Press F for respect on those shields that sacrificed itself for me to progress the game 😢...
I remember playing this on arcade because I already tried Gundam Vs. Zeta Gundam on PS2 and it was fun as hell! Shame they didn't include the cast of 08th MS Team and Stardust Memory, a playable GM Custom would be great!
God, this game is SO under-rated for gameplay. I kinda wish I could find an old copy of this to put on for Discord Stream evenings. Cause this game is SO iconic...
This is one of my favorite Gundam games along with Zeonic Front. I don't like Gundam vs Zeta Gundam as much because I miss being a regular pilot in the campagin instead of following a hero's path. I usually play as Zeon though because the Dom is my favorite UC Mobile Suit, and the Z'Gok is in the top ten, maybe top five.
Yes! Omg I thought I was practically the only person to have ever played this. Still my favorite Gundam game of all time. The game quite literally boils down to how well you can pilot the suits you have available, and the poorer you do the less health you’ll have in the next mission. Freaking epic. I remember roping my friends into playing local multiplayer and using a Zaku-I against their favorite suits to see who won 🤩
The demo for this game was my first real (I saw ads for the WIng toys on T.V) introduction to Gundam. I didn't have satelite or cable T.V so I couldn't watch channels like cartoon network.
Loved this game. I actually preferred it over Journey To Jaburo. I really liked how you could use enemy MS. Something charming about doing a late war battle as a Zeon in a captured GM.
Oh man, I remember playing that in High School. I beat both the Federation and Zeon campaigns, but MAN there were some missions that were so painful. Space Missions in particular when you're fighting enemies with rocket launchers was guaranteed to have me gnashing my teeth. But getting a Gelgoog and seeing the havoc you could do with their beam rifles was SO satisfying.
I HATED this game as a kid... I mean, good luck dodging fire from every angle, good luck ever having the suits you actually need to be ready as, the stupid game will damage your suits even if you didn't take damage during the mission. Oh and especially good luck getting into melee without the computer just saying "screw you, I hit first.". Don't even bother trying to take on any named characters. They have a bullshit amount of health and one-shot anything they hit including you.
Gundam side story 0079 rise from the ashes on the dreamcast is by far THE best gundam game where you play as a grunt, albeit a Fedi grunt. Bonus points that its a first person cockpit view game done right
This is my all time favorite Gundam game. This is what the VS games should of continued evolving as a formula instead of into a 3d fighting game. Full story modes covering all the various Gundam universes and stories playing as grunts. This game and Journey To Jaburo was how I learned about the One Year War as a kid. When people ask what I want in a modern Gundam Game. It's this.
in Zeon side, although you don't mention it, you do test out certain mobile armors, like a Big Zam on Earth which while some might think is a breeze... yeah, it's not because of all the projectile using mobile suits, also there are the red missions like Assaulting Side 7 with the Zeon pilots and avoiding Amuro wanting to decimate your Zaku like it's made of paper or the stolen Gundam in the EFSF side.

Though I don't remember if Gundam vs Zeta Gundam had that using captured enemy mobile suit gimmick that this game sported. Sigh.
I actually am considering doing a series of videos based on all those what ifs in the future, stay tuned!
The favorite part is that when you play as Titan characters, you can go back to One Year War point to experience them as a Federation pilot.
@@talos1279 Those that were Federation Pilots during the One Year War anyways.
Ah, good ol New Yark
Yeah Texas Colony was the only mission where I was able to take out Amuro/Gundam as well. I would use Char's Gelgoog on that mission.
The game controls great man. The lack of camera panning a real non issue. The lock on makes it easy.
Yeah its not bad at all ❤️
Awesome game, was everything that I wanted from a Gundam game back in the day.
One year war for life. Sieg Zeon.
I actually loved this game back in the day, in retrospect it kinda feels like the Dark Souls of Gundam.
federation vs. zeon was a arcade port to ps2 which is why the controls are the way they are
Is it sad GBO2 controls the same way over 20 years later but slower and clunkier?
@@yoloman3607 GBO2 controls nothing like FVZ the cool down for the melee weapons and the slow turning is the most annoying thing ever
This is one of the best Gundam games ever.
1:16 HE'S ROLLIN' ROLLIN' ROLLIN'!
I remember coming home from school and turning on the PS2 to play this game, overall my Favorite game
The rhythmic
pause works in space too.
@@JarboeGaming i was recording vs zeta for a longplay. I only shown the arcade mode once since most of it was recycled from the story mode.
Loved this game so much
One of the games I spent hours on when younger. But Zeonic Front was better. Always wanted to get the Zeta Gundam one.
The aiming in this game is terrible.
I cant count the ammount of times i had full target lock, fired and missed without the enemy taking evasive action.
I played this game sooo much on my PS2! It's the closest to my dream Gundam game!
Finally the goat of all gundam games
One of the few games I'm enough motivated to setup the ps2 emulator etc to play it again once in a while
This game was fucking nuts and I enjoyed it heavily
Gundam Crossfire will give you a good idea of how it feels to pilot a ball even if the thing youre using isnt a Ball.
Absolutely wonderful game
Hated the downtime of used MS after each mission..
Hands down these where the best games during that time
I played this game and Gundam VS Zeta Gundam and Gundam VS Gundam on PSP as well back in the day. The controls are what frustrated me the most and having to lock on to certain targets especially during the more difficult missions was annoying to me. Thanks for making another great video!
I really enjoyed the Encounters In Space game
I wish I had this game and The second game when I was younger because I would have had so much fun with these 2 titles but now they're just really expensive and hard to find. I know I could just emulate them but I don't have a powerful enough computer to actually emulate them and even if I did there's something magical about playing a physical game in your hands.
The games are mad fun, but definitely much more so when played co-op. You need a second player cause the Ai backup you get is just trash.
My favorite game!
I read your channel as "jaburo gaming"
This is one those games I like to find others and have tournaments. The Zaku 2 with rocket pods on the legs is my favorite to play with. Sieg Zeon!!!
Love the ground Gundam with the 180mm cannon and it's elbow to the face attack.
Legitimately one of my favorite games as a kid.
your loser rx-78-2 is no match for my gouf. People sleep on the gouf, its the most broken MS in this game.ザクと違うのだよ、ザクとは
Hey if that's your biggest regret, you're doing alright 😂😂 still a big L though lol
@JarboeGaming But but my ps2 game mummy....yea u right lol 🤣
Hope this game re-release again
The first console I ever had growing up was the PS2 and my Dad happened to have Gundam vs Zeta Gundam. I absolutely loved that game. I have so many memories of playing it with my Dad. The selection of different suits is probably my most favorite part.
god i wish this got a remake
The nostalgia with this game!
The day after I find your channel it turns out you upload a video on my favorite Gundam game, the algorithm worked wonders for once.
Damn that framerate good
Only big complaint of campaign is the Federation complete lack of midgrade-uppermid space suits lack of weapon options. Makes Federation end game soooooo much harder than Zion who get you get flushed with more than you even need. Beam rifles on lowerly GM's is kind of terrible compared since you do crap damage and huge amounts of time between shots and recharges.
My Favourite Grunts
Zeons: Zaku II (Regular, Commander Type, Cannon, Half Cannon, High Mobility Type), Goufs, Gyan, Gelgoog, Zaku I Sniper Type
Earth Fed: GM Sniper II, Sniper K9, Jeddahs to ReZEL
ZAFT (SEED): GINN (Regular, Insurgent Type, Assault Type, High Maneuver Type, Long Range Reconnaissance Type), CGUE(Regular, Assault, DEEP Arms), GuAIZ, GuAIZ R, DINN (Regular, AWACS, RAVEN), Zaku Phantom Blaze, Gouf Ignited, Gelgoog Menace, Gyan Strom
United Nations Forces (00): All GN-X variants and successors.
Wow, it was my very first Gundam game on the PS2 so it's kind of nostalgic to see it reviewed. Thanks man.
Surprise you didn't mention how this game is the forefather that would end up spawning and creating the Gundam Extreme VS franchise.
The Zero-G soace stages always had rough controls.
In the sequel its a tiny bit better when you have MSes that transform.
Helps out with things in general.
I feel stupid for buying this game on the dreamcast (the japanese version) not realizing this exist...
LoL
Why would you want to side with Zeon? DO YOU LIKE TO LOSE EVERY WAR YOU'VE PARTICIPATED IN
Oh I missed this style of Gundam VS games, everything nowadays move either too quick (ExVs) or too slow (GBO2)
Do you plan on covering Battlefield Record UC0081? It’s pretty good even though it can be challenging
Common misconception, Gundam Vs Zeta Gundam is *Not* a sequel to Federation vs Zeon, it's a sequel to Aeug vs Titans which
Was the actual sequel to Federation vs Zeon, unfortunately it was never localized for whatever reason while Gundam vs Zeta Gundam was.
Man, I loved MSG:FvZ so much. I still have it and my old PS2. I still play it from time to time.
Bonus points that its a first person cockpit view game done right
Zeon in this game has space superiority in terms of mobile suits while the Feddies only relies in GMs, guncannon and RX-78 and ball
It's this.
My friend had Zeonic Front, and *loved* it. Maybe just because it wasn't excessive hero-fantasy fan service?
in Zeon side, although you don't mention it, you do test out certain mobile armors, like a Big Zam on Earth which while some might think is a breeze... yeah, it's not because of all the projectile using mobile suits, also there are the red missions like Assaulting Side 7 with the Zeon pilots and avoiding Amuro wanting to decimate your Zaku like it's made of paper or the stolen Gundam in the EFSF side.
