- In this video the Syx Moto 50cc Holeshot won't start once again. The throttle is sticking and it is having carburetor issues. I put a new carburetor in and upgrade the fuel shutoff valve.

Ah man !!! Thanks for this and previous video !!! I'm getting 50cc for my lad and Ur videos were very helpful to see what's what and what to look for in case of any breakdowns.
Great video, i really liked the fact that you are putting the xmc17 beofe the embrilon so the wheel doesn't go off in a 827pm road with a quarter pickup. Keep up the work man !

4 months in with kids riding daily. So far we had to do this with the shut off valve. Broke 2 clutch springs so far and brakes always need adjusted but overall for the price of the bike it was worth it cuz all the parts are cheap and they are easy to fix

Just bought a used one for my kid. The starter sting came off, put it back in but then the back spring on it got un wound inside. I think I saw one on ebay for like $12. The the star on the gear box is broken because it slides like in and out. So might have to replace the whole gear box and pull starter. Is that correctly diagnosed?
New to bikes. I have the 50cc syx and it seems to not want to leave the low rpms. Will only accelerate when assisted down hill
You Sir, are a life saver. My son's birthday is tomorrow and the dirtbike wouldn't stay running. Adjusted the carb and now it starts first pull and idles

just bought a used one it idles but when you throttle up and let off it dies thinking that fuel filter and scum bag shut off valve built into the carb is the issue and yup the plastic cog in the pull start shit the bed thinking ill machine a metal one to replace it rather than buy a new pull start . you do good work was just looking at what other people have done to these Chinese bikes and came across you. the carb has a air to fuel mixture screw which makes no sense if im trying to adjust the idle but then again its a cheap bike lol
One side question: Doe it have a primer, I kinda saw you priming something? But I may be wrong. I bought a used one and didn't see if it had a primer. Thanks

Yea I think that’s the number one cause of these things being hard to start. It’s such a terrible design to have them on the carb.

So you don't need the fuel filter u can run it with just the inline shut.of valve? It won't hurt anything without the filter?

@MarleyJax Garage man, these little bikes are driving me nuts. Helping a buddy with his sons, wouldn’t start. Watched your first video, determined no spark and that the coil pack was bad. Bought a replacement. Ran for Ten seconds. Shut it off.. won’t restart again. Seems spark is gone. Coil measures same now as the original one did. Any ideas? Also, is there a metal pull start upgrade available? Like the whole housing.
Yea they are definitely not being checked over very well at the factory before being shipped out. Seems like 1 hour of ride time = 30 minutes of wrenching. I would try to re-gap the coil and see if it changes anything. If there is still no spark just get another coil. They are pretty hit or miss but once you get a good one that issue should be solved. I linked a metal pull start in my first video and it seems to of held up better than the plastic one.
@@MarleyJaxGarage appreciate the reply. So I did buy a replacement coil, it worked for 10sec and then died. I am sorta confused by the whole resistor cap vs resistor spark plug and what to buy. People are recommending the ngk8051 but no one has one locally. Would love to pick your brain for a couple min..if u had time
What size is the fuel line have same issues out of the box with fuel leak ??
Is there a web site that i can go to and get a service manual for the SYX Moto PAD60-1 (60cc)? I am trying to get the valve clearance for this model.

I never found any service manuals for these Chinese clones. It looks just like one of the Coleman or Motovox clones. I would probably just set the intake to .003 and exhaust to .004 and see how it runs.

Quick ? I realized that the bottom part of green ground wire broke off any ideal on how to replace that and fix would and ground wire work or would it have to be a certain type I have the xpro 50cc dirt bike I tried to get it from them but they don’t carry the ground wires
You should be able to make one yourself with stuff from Lowe’s or Home Depot. Just get another end and strip the wire and attach if it long enough. Or just get another wire that’s the same size and put the ends on it. I bet if you take the wire to the store they will tell you everything you need.

Hey buddy…I’m having the same issue I believe…kind of new into dirtbike but I’m mechanically inclined…I’m thinking it’s gotta be the fuel valve ,the carburetor or spark plug so would u have any recommendations on where I should buy these parts from and what brands? I just want to get good quality parts to do the upgrades.
I linked the fuel shutoff valve and carburetor I used in the description of this video. You can switch the spark plug to a NGK (6703) BPMR7A.

Not that I know of, the only adjustment on the carb is the idle adjustment. Make sure you are getting good fuel flow
what your gas mixture? it look clear are you mixing 2 cycle oil with the gas if so what your ratio
Yes I am mixing my gas. You can see the smoke coming out when it’s running. I think this was 32:1 91 octane. The official mixture is 25:1 but I don’t have anything that runs that and didn’t want to mix up a bunch just for fixing it.
Did you use just some sheet metal to block old shut off valve?
Yea I think it was 12 or 14 gauge and an o ring I had that came in a big pack from harbor freight.
My throttle is stuck open on mine but it looks like I put it all together like you did. My clutch blew junks on the old motor so I got a new one for like 50 bucks on Amazon. Yes the whole motor. I got it all put back together but the throttle is stuck wide open and the throttle tube has no resistance or snap back. What you think it could be?
50 bucks for a new motor? That’s crazy how cheap they are. Make sure the slide is not in backwards and being held up by the idle adjustment screw. Also check and make sure it’s not the cable get stuck. I usually put the throttle cable on the carb before mounting it to the intake so I can see what I am doing.
@@MarleyJaxGarage I got the slide to work so my throttle snaps back as it should but now I’m running into the issue of when I hit the throttle the bike stalls out. It’s all a brand new motor/spark plug/carburetor so I guess I just gotta keep tinkering with it
@@MarleyJaxGarage I did have to swap the gear box from the old motor because the new one was too long for the frame of the bike
What size is the fuel line need to order shut off valve and do same thing ??
I’m not sure but I think it was 1/4 inch.
Hey mate , i have this bike and would like to replace the front fork springs. there's a video on youtube of someone doing it with a razor mx650, would you know if it would be the same process for this bike?
Yea I think you might have seen my video on the mx650 suspension upgrade. If not check it out, I think it would be the same process. I would check it first to make sure the new spring and bolts would be long enough. There is a guy on eBay selling springs for 40 bucks with bolts if you search “Razor MX650 MX500 Front Suspension Upgrade”.
@@MarleyJaxGarageI have that suspension upgrade kit from Ebay and yes it was your video i watched. After taking the front wheel off and doing the necessary disassembly its like there isnt a big enough whole to fit an extension bar down there, like the razor mx bikes have. no videos on youtube for doing that upgrade on the syx moto/amazon bike..... would love to see a video on it.. hahaa thanks for the response.

How were you able to tell the carburetor was having issues? Is that one of the first places to look if the bike won't start?
There were a few things going on with this one. The throttle was stuck and it was hard to start which usually means the carb. The first thing I usually check is spark then go to the carburetor. I also knew the fuel shutoff was a bad design and was causing problems.

Does it have spark? It will most likely be an issue with the coil or the carburetor. I have another syx video changing out the coil.
When we hit gas on ours it turns off on its own instead of going it turns off what could this be?
Does it run better with the choke on? If it does that means it needs more fuel and could be a carb issue. Make sure your fuel shutoff valve is opening all the way up.
Is there anyway to convert this to a thumb throttle?
Yea you would just need to find a throttle cable the correct length and a thumb throttle. They make a bunch of small Chinese 4 wheeler so I bet there are cheap parts.

Hey, I just built your modded mx650 but it’s not running. The voltmeter turns on and shows 53v but when I pull the throttle nothing happens. What do you think the issue is?
The volt meter coming on means you have power making it to the controller. The first thing I would do is disconnect the brakes if you have them to make sure that is not the issue because it will not supply power to the motor if brakes are pressed. Do you have a 3 speed controller, if not you will need to wire the middle and high speed wires together. Also make sure the e lock wires are connected to a switch that works or are just connected together.
@@MarleyJaxGarage I did everything in your video that you said. I bullet connected the 3 speed and plugged in my e lock. Things still aren’t working. Is there a way I can just test that the motor is working?
The controller has to command the motor on. It’s brushless so it requires electronically controlled timing. I would disconnect the brakes first to make sure it’s not that. And just connect the e lock together to rule that out as well. If you think it’s the motor you can get a multimeter and check the resistance between each pair of terminals and they should be equal.
@@MarleyJaxGarage I tried taking of the e lock and it wouldn’t power with out it. I put the e lock on again and with power and it powered the volt meter which would show it’s getting power to the throttle and controller. If it’s getting power to both controller and throttle y wouldn’t the motor work. I have new brakes and they aren’t plugged into the controller so that can’t be the problem. What do you think is wrong
I’m not sure, i would try the one speed throttle that came with the motor/controller and connect the middle and high speed wires together. If it’s not that I would see if you are getting power to the motor with a multimeter. If it’s getting power I would check the resistance of the motor. If it’s not getting power you either have it wired wrong or the controller is faulty.

what oil to fuel ratio do you use on the little motorbike ?
32:1 premium gas only
I have used 40:1 as well but 32:1 will make sure it’s well oiled. It’s basically a weed eater engine and I just use the same gas I put in that and my leaf blower.
@@MarleyJaxGarage yep I use 24:1 on some Chinese bikes 32:1 is the most common and I find 40:1 is more for dirtbikes like Yamaha or Kawasaki. I use more oil then told because I rather replace a 5$ spark plug then a 100$ engine rebuild kit.

You need to figure out if you have a problem with spark, fuel or compression. Turning the screw in just adjusts this idle. I was using 32:1 mix.
