I just got done going over my daughter's DR-X Holeshot 50cc. Had the same issue with the chain on the swing arm. Loosened the motor, removed one bolt & slid in a washer & a lock washer underneath the motor. Repeat for all four.. Sprayed 'em black to boot! Can't even see the difference, but it worked perfectly to create the clearance I needed & it didn't change anything except for having to clearance the top bolt hole on the bracket for the top motor mount.
Dude seriously, I am so glad this is done. It rips! I just took it up the road it's so much more responsive! I wish I could call you to share my troubleshooting during this project, so crazy.

Notice alot of parents chiming in your channel having issues with this bike- These chinese motors are finiky AF. But since I'm mechanical I've been able keep it running for the kids. Good job Dad 👌
the reed valve should be ok , as long as the carb intake to reed bolt holes match up , a 20mm carb and a 25mm carb can use the same reed , the reed stops backfire into the carb , on the compression stroke . 1991 I built a yz 80 for my son it was a 1984 yz It needed a bore and piston and few other things , when it was done it looked brand new . under 200 bucks . Won't be long you will be needing to upgrade to a nice 65 or 80 cc . did you have to change out the reed body to match the carb or it fit?
Hello I was wondering if I don't have the tether kill switch cap will the bike not start? I have the syx moto 50cc. Fixing to replace spark plug and carborator and ignition on it. Just didn't know if not having that on it would affect it or not?? Thank you

Honestly all I know is it is a ZK. I do not even know the jet size it was really just a guess and I just made it work. sorry to be so vague but I really don't know exact. I just hope for the best in the end. But if I figure it out I will be sure to reply. I am currently working on the bike.

Well it moves but it does what you were saying starts moving slow and then picks up speed. I changed the spark plug last night. But its still bogging at it shuts off after running for like 30 seconds. An i need to run it with the choke on a little
Now i understand that this is a 50 cc dirtbike but what other specs should i look for when it comes to buying a new carb. I dont want to order the wrong one

Hey bud I went through the same chain issue I had to make sure I was keeping the back tire perfectly centered while tighten up bolts use the 2 adjusters on the frame swing arm . Hope this helps

Check your fuel shut off if that is not the problem there is in adjustment on the trans side tried messing with that if that does not work see if it has spark if no spark. You will need new coil CDI Box.
@@ld3941 ok thanks it has spark but the little spring came out the boot I put it back in it sounds like it wasn't to start but I just doesn't I ordered a battery charger because it has the electric start option to since I can't start it with the pull start it also sounds like I may had broken the pull starter buy pulling it so much what cdi do I order for this bike
@@younghandsome225 There's many different choices you can Google. and it will give you many options depends on what you plan on doing with the bike you can get performance ones. We are still running stock on that part.
@@younghandsome225 Carburetor came from Amazon clutch came from Amazon with a trans for different style bike and gears. Amazon will not give me link. It's a bit of a guessing game but it just happened to workout.
The carburetor on the stock SYX is troublesome there is an adjustment on the carburetor I believe on the left hand side try adjusting that and sometimes the shot off valve is an issue if it's not positioned perfectly.
@@upstatetreesevice9966 Also a new sparkplug even know the bike is new would probably help as well ngk is good. And e3 is a really good one to try as well.
Hello,i wanted your help with something if possible... this dirt bike is too fast for my son as he is a beginner ,I put training wheels on and he whiskey throttled the first time riding. So I'm trying to slow it down for him. I lowered the throttle govornor to the lowest setting but its still too fast for him. I also tryed a mod where I put some gas line above the needle in the carborator on the throttle cable, but that made the bike idle too high even when turned all the way out. I was wondering if maybe I could drill a extra hole where the speed govornor is and put the screw in higher so it will have less throttle? Please let me know if you have any recommendations, thank you.
I would recommend trying limiting the twist throttle an extra hole might just work. But I do not have many ideas on this as we always just went full out.
Hi do you by any chance know if this engine is already 44 mm bore? Because I was looking around on Amazon and noticed they have a 44 mm bore upgrade cylinder and piston or total engine package but I don't wanna drop the money on that if this engine might already be that size.

Yeah the stock reeds did work. We are hoping one day to have a bigger better bike .but we are going to try to make this bike better hopefully.
I disconnected suspension and swing arm. Made it easier to access.

Unfortunately no it will not run without that but you can bypass it. that’s what I ended up doing.

Sounds like the clutch is out if it's revving up and not moving that's most likely the issue or the transmission on it.

@@michaelbaker6060 yeah if your choke is on then thats fuel related. Check fuel line and shut off if not that new carb time.

I had the same problem. I noticed they only use 1 nut for the adjusters I had one on both sides seem to solve the problem.

Honestly, I can’t remember, but if I did, it was probably for the break in.
I couldn't get it to run at 25:1 I'm currently running 40:1 and it runs great but get a little hot. I'm gonna try a little more oil.

Yeah they come with an air filter on them it's located towards the back of the motor
