In the next one double your walls lol . I only know about this game cause of your channel , I’m invested , love the content , I’m addicted to it , something comforting about watching you progress through the game
From what I've seen in other playthroughts, it seems the steps for successful base is to grab medium-small house near some park (or other area that has lots of open greenery space), build small wall around HQ + gate and tower while getting a car and savage as much as possible. After that rush a basic shelter get the advanced walls and masonry technology, followed up by farming, the secondary walls and everything else.
haven't followed other videos, but two walls make a lot of sense, especially if you base it around how medieval cities used to be built.
you always had a main strong wall around the main keep / main building(s), then some smaller walls / palissades around the rest of the town if there was one around
then, if that town / keep really had money, they would upgrade that outer wall too
PS : then of course, some bigger keeps / castles had several layers of walls too
scav everyday, no matter what. Later those scav teams go to expedition ater your immediate and local area is depleted.
Create "killzones"
You can also cheese the game right now by adapting low cost buildings far away from your actual base. The infected go for your first line buildings first.
This gives you time to round them up and pull them into your killzone.
Lore: the camp is getting more larger horde every night because of the noise it has made, and because of that gathering resources have become more harder and because of the changing season, the camp decided to move to a more stable area that have consistant seasons and less zombies
I would definitely watch you continue play this until the new patch!

The defences need work, I know it’s a balance thing but…
No area weapons? No passive defence measures other an relatively easily destroyed wall.
Electricity! Exactly as a multiplier for the second or third level of the tech tree.
The vehicles are a good thing it’s just the exchange and the parking! And of course the fuel tanks being full when you find them…

The continual being on the edge of starvation…forcing you to scavenge from further and further away draining fuel and time.

Another great video. I'm glad to hear the devs have included vehicle repair. As per my suggestions on previous videos, I do think constructing new buildings should be a thing (as you said in your previous video). As you pointed out in the last video and this one, there are certainly things that need to be fixed - such as meat at cookhouses and walking to base instead of defaulting to using the car they were in. However, as I said in my last comment, I do think there is a lot more promise to this game and really want to see it succeed. If the devs other games are any indication, I think much of this is going to be fixed through Early Access and cannot wait for the final release. Can't wait to see more of this on your channel. Keep up the good work and great content.
To the game:
I ask myself if you could cheese the game a bit by plastering the terrain with watchtowers on Bow and Arrow and manning them just through the night. It would ask some micromanaging but you probably could safe some precious ammo that way?

Silly question: can you alt right click to unload into the HQ so it’ll park not on the road?
I think there is a bug others have had issues with their squads not unloading to the HQ

Keep the buildings up by your HQ so you can expand more
Maybe use the rest of your time on this one to experiment and take more risks ..
also I think you should have two towers on either side of HQ then they won’t attack HQ cause they would attack the towers first giving more time to defend HQ

It would be cool if they added attachments and made gun fire longer, and makes different raiders have different challenges.
I think if you set the vehicles to off road that might fix your parking problem
Very cool series. Does anyone know the developer? It would be cool to do research on housing to be able to have cleaners/decorators to paint the buildings in the base, to refurbish pieces of road chosen by you, so that it gives that vibe of rebuilding society, so that everything doesn't seem so sad anymore. This could also boost morale.
I'm enjoying the videos of this game so far, and I think when you do a fresh start is up to you, I will enjoy the series either way. This game series caused me to subscribe to you.

When you que searches, you need to click on the car at the end of the que and then the hq. They then go back to the car and then to the hq

If you restart. You should do an iconic HQ like the White house or something.
Tried the White House privately. It’s not a good start. The problem is that there’s so much empty space around it. If the game allowed me to make custom structures, fine, but since it’s based on building adaptation, and you can’t have mixed use buildings, starting with the White House is a pretty bad start.

i think they leave the car behind and walk all the way back when the car is totally full so they don't have anywhere to drop off so they go to drop off at the HQ
Love this series! In regards to a new playthrough, how about a new one immediately and then re assess if you want to start over again on release date. Location wise its very cool to hear your experiences with the area
Next one is in a location I know as well. Not as well, but it’s a more populated area, so should present a cool challenge

Well they can get busted, I had it happen on my detroit map, they dropped off sick people at my base and left but kinda ran into raiders, they still won, but left their truck behind, which gave me a nice big truck to send out on expeditions, but it resulted in the sick got healed they threatened me to return them I said I will but they end up staying in my hospital, not moving at all nor joining my base. But if raiders can attack them and end up giving me the truck so can swarms just overrun them and destroy them.
Would love to see ya start with the new update, don't wanna wait 5days for a video lol

Charlie.. I think I mighta figured out the meat cooking issue... you had the meat going into the secondary warehouse, and the workers were trying to take it outta the main.. maybe it wasnt fully registering it?
It’s a shared capacity game. Drop off in one location, can pick up in another, all they had to do was pick up in HQ
@@CharliePryor I know thats the method for storage.. I'm just thinking that maybe there might be an error when counting it going into the one storage and not accurately applying it to the main storage.. was just an idea to try n figure out why its being buggy
Just upload ifz don't stop, if u want to wait for release ok , continue
why don't u make some more watch tower on the other side so it wont get beaten up every time, just make your defense up for every night so u don't really need to keep checking base, also send more squad to loot place at the same time for saving time

Why don´t you check out what is in the new patch play a littel and then decide if it is worth making a new start... or is it impossible to revert to this game if you install the new one?

Hey. I know is completly off topic but hope you can forgive me.
I started the demo to get a feel for the game myself. I found two cars. How do you split squads so you can get two cars home without having one squad wandering through the city.
Sorry I asked in the Steam forum but got no answer.
Button at the bottom of the squad UI. I’ve pressed it every time I take a car like that, BTW
I hope that the demobuild is not too different from the alphabuild.
Down on the squadmenu I have disband, go back to HQ and exchange. So it's exchange then. I have to check next time when I find two cars.

Keep cranking these out…I’ll keep coming back…keep advancing tech and progressing the story…you are getting fixated on simply maintaining status quo and forgetting about making your community better…also…build more gates and give them the AKs if you know hordes are coming…they are clearly doing better as your first line of defense. Those towers in isolation are almost useless…build more.
I started this video with nothing. No food, no ammo, no fuel. I ended it with a week’s supply and super stability in a completely recovered and closed base with full defenses.
Half my comments telling me to give them bows and arrows to preserve ammo. You’re saying to give the civilians the AKs.
I’m doing just fine.

The hq isnt partially adapted.. it just needs to be repaired and the highlight will go away
It is partially adapted. It will highlight that way from the very beginning. There is a maximum size your HQ can be, and if you choose a building larger than that, it will be partially adapted. The rest of the building is unusable.

I know they're limited to food but is it possible to add more people
