Those days are kind of over, but back when physical media was pretty much the only option for consoles it was very common. ICO and Shadow of the Colossus got bundled together, God of War, Kingdom Hearts. That sorta things. As long as the price isn't absurd. I was very happy to pick up the Shadow of the Colossus and ICO bundle for $30 on my PS3 back in the day.

For a minute I thought a proper Sequel to Game Dev Tycoon came out. Although upon literally waiting 30 seconds into the vid, it does seem fairly proper.
I've played both Mad Games Tycoon games, and would describe them as immersive tycoons, because the joy for me comes mostly out of living out the fantasy of your own game studio, publisher, console developer etc. (arcades as well in this one). It is much much deeper than GameDevTycoon.

In fact games are getting uglier in 2023 than they were 5 years ago but require nearly twice the power and 5X the money to run that slightly uglier graphics. It's rather sad really.
I think it speaks a lot to the maturing of the devs in this industry that the first game was about working hard on your passion for video games and making art, trying to genuinely make good combos and greatly punishing you for rushing or repeating yourself. Whereas the 2nd game has a corporate air, and such a huge emphasis on marketing and lots of options for cheating. Kind of sad, would be cool if the world worked more like the 1st game and less like the 2nd.
The 3rd game will likely come with the ability to whore out your ip to the film industry, retna scan tech, digital currency scams both centralized and decentralized, and the ability to refuse to issue refunds for purchases and then deactive purchases remotely.
and finally the ability to lobby (bribe) the government to overlook your crimes and to try to win court cases when it backfires because too many people caught wind of it. I for one can't wait for the cube crawls with drunk staff to cause the cleaning robots to have an existancial crisis and turn on their employer in a sort of hybrid manhunting spree/ ai takeover freezing bank accounts etc.

I don't understand how digital releases of games can eventually be "taken off the market." With physical releases, this makes sense. You only make so many physical copies of a game and don't want to put more money into manufacturing more when sales are petering off. But with digital releases, there is no risk. You can keep selling them forever, even if they don't work anymore! Looking at you Steam!
I think that's inevitable with games like these, there's always going to be a superior or rather broken way of doing things, it's seemingly impossible to simulate, even if you included more random elements players would just save scum.
