Mosul was hands down one of the best war movies I have watched. I will never forget the sacrifice the Nineveh SWAT team made in liberating the town from terror.
0:01 As the terrorist ran to turn the corner, hoping to kill at least a few police officers before he goes down. As he turns the corner he sees 4 swat officers with automatic rifles at the ready, as he raises his gun to fire, he is shot 70 times. “Suspect down” Is heard over the radio as the officers continue.
15:10 Considering how he went down, that man didn't get cooked, he got bricked in the face with the heavy bottle, and is probably just unconcious. Well, at least until the fire gets him.
Must say Rimmy I did the university one by just sending in ranger and only clearing the left side of the map like you can even let the explosives go off and it doesn't matter just get the hostages out
You know I was playing this and thought “what the hells the point of the militia? They have nothing, they’re worthless.” I was not aware you could get a 2 for 1 deal on them.
My one big problem with Mosul on Netflix; there's only subtitles for about half the dialogue. They don't have any for the banter, many casual or background conversations or even that TV show from one of the breaks. It's a good movie but unless you're fluent in Arabic you don't know what's being said half the time unless it's an area the person who coded the subtitles deemed "Important".
Insert joke here about the Commonwealth officer using Native levies to enforce Imperial power, also this game is so freaking cool. Well worth it at any price.
Rimmy raises a good point: Mosul is a pretty good movie. It's still on Netflix, so I advise checking it out. And there's a good reason why he didn't want to divulge too much about the story. It's not exactly rife with twists and turns, but it's better to be along for the ride. Great production values, too, and it goes out of its way to show regional rivalries that often get overlooked. Point is, good movie, would (and did) watch again, etc, etc.
Watching a more serious playthrough's of this game, using tactics and strategy .... and then switching over to just pure chaos, mate you got some love right here lol
Finally! Someone is talking about Mosul! I love this movie. I've seen it way too many times and am enraptured with their portrayal of war. No American heroes, no artillery or close air support and little to no help from their own, just cause they know how corrupt it is. I could gush about this movie all day. ❤️❤️ Watch the movie. Won't regret.
@rimmy you should take a look at No Plan B, the main dev behind DK2 actually commented on the guys steam page about the improved timeline system in their game
The fun part is that considering the next try where he goes in expecting him what likely happened was the suicide bomber got whacked by the door on the way in and was sitting there reeling and holding his head as the officers rushed in, killed his friend and started freeing hostages AND disarming a bomb. He then looked around and went 'Shit' making both officers notice he was there who started to turn around only for him to press the button and die only taking one hostage with him.
I've read on the roadmap in the Steam discussions tab that they are planning to add Green Berets, Delta Force, Navy SEALs, British SAS, Norway and Romania special forces
If you like the idea of having tons of micromannaged troops I recommend jagged alliance: back in action, I've arranged about 12-20 or so troops to manager prone into position and then engage several enemy simultaneously
Damn I haven't thought about JABia in Ages; never got around to finishing a campaign for it. Just wish there were some more elements from the original Jagged Alliance as part of the game like replaceable ballistic armor plates (so I don't have to worry about replacing expensive and heavy vests every other mission), drivable vehicles, destructible environments, armor piercing ammo, and snazzy demo charge mechanics.

Unless they are topping the charts I wouldn't raise the price, it is just going to discourage people from trying the game. Think of it like this, would you rather one guy buying your game for 30 euros or 5 guys buying it for 10 each. This is also a major problem I see with specifically Japanese devs, they refuse to put their games on sale and when they do it's like 5-10% even when the game is a decade old and still costs 60 euros. I'm not saying this dev team is as bad, obviously but this is a classic trap, people raise prices without knowing if the demand is there.
Sappers with this squad are so much fun to use, since they can have three charges along with the other charge, you can literally blow-up entire walls and make a damn killzone. Edit: oh, and something that I think was added with the update that added this squad, if you click on the hostages after you free them you can tell them to run to the exit, so it frees up an escort and at least how I play, I tend to make sure the area's cleared before doing that anyway so escorting them isn't necessary.

That's one Sniper Rifle I'd love to *NOT* be on the Receiving end of, especially with that distinct Sound of it Firing. Also, Top 3 Rifles to keep on Hand: The Belgian FN FAL, The American M14, and the Australian SLR!
for the sappers actually with the lv4 shield, the HP45 is the best in terms of damage, even tho it lacks a bit of accuracy at range for the most part, i think its hard to adjust ur squad to move behind the shield cuz the shield is so slow so i just usually bring 3 shields and no one else and fill the whole building with wall breaches
The funny shit is when you just say screw it, and use every single militia you can in the bigger maps. Like It always is chaotic when you say “Hostages, dont care, Civilians, dont care. Im gonna give them what they are waiting for just times 10.”

I remember seeing your reference to Mosul in a video from a year ago(“grab anything sharp”) good lord is that a fantastic movie and definitely gun p@rn
I'm late to the video, but i have to point out that each Militia member seems to be REALLY good at one thing, and since Malik's was assault shooting, so Malik went off that hard on the last mission dodging bullets and clapping fools because those were his optimal conditions, i wouldn't be surprised if some those countless clutch save shots over the video were from Militia that were built for that
My god there are so many good strategy games and I am only one man with so much time...*sigh* Does anybody know if this game has a story campaign or is it like a never ending replay expirience like a PDX game?
Yeah it has a campaign, there are several “chapters” with levels in it. Each update they tend to add some new maps. There also is a random mission generator, and it has steam workshop support (TONS of good maps on the workshop). And it also of course has a level editor in case you want to make your own map.

Loved the video @Rimmy Downunder! Can't wait for the next video man! That Sniper in the "Precious Cargo" Mission had a Freaking Dragunov Sniper Rifle. That's one Sniper Rifle I'd love to *NOT* be on the Receiving end of, especially with that distinct Sound of it Firing.
Also, Top 3 Rifles to keep on Hand: The Belgian FN FAL, The American M14, and the Australian SLR!
First time on uni assault, was doing it with one of my Arma unit friends, we had the suicide executioner kill 4 hostages in one go
for the sappers
actually with the lv4 shield, the HP45 is the best in terms of damage, even tho it lacks a bit of accuracy at range
for the most part, i think its hard to adjust ur squad to move behind the shield cuz the shield is so slow
so i just usually bring 3 shields and no one else
and fill the whole building with wall breaches
The funny shit is when you just say screw it, and use every single militia you can in the bigger maps. Like It always is chaotic when you say “Hostages, dont care, Civilians, dont care. Im gonna give them what they are waiting for just times 10.”
So there is something called an "infiltration" then there something called an "assault"
But, I daresay this is an "invasion"
Milita is Civillian Short train like poor train I don't know, mean you I don't know what you where fight is you move? I don't know I hear History napoleon ww1 & ww2 Militia is very weak and useful everypeople fight
I remember seeing your reference to Mosul in a video from a year ago(“grab anything sharp”) good lord is that a fantastic movie and definitely gun p@rn
I'm late to the video, but i have to point out that each Militia member seems to be REALLY good at one thing, and since Malik's was assault shooting, so Malik went off that hard on the last mission dodging bullets and clapping fools because those were his optimal conditions, i wouldn't be surprised if some those countless clutch save shots over the video were from Militia that were built for that
I was godamn rooting for these guys.
Pls do more
My god there are so many good strategy games and I am only one man with so much time...*sigh*
Does anybody know if this game has a story campaign or is it like a never ending replay expirience like a PDX game?
Yeah it has a campaign, there are several “chapters” with levels in it. Each update they tend to add some new maps. There also is a random mission generator, and it has steam workshop support (TONS of good maps on the workshop). And it also of course has a level editor in case you want to make your own map.
