    Thanks, and to calculate the amount of strings , we have to weigh the square ex. If the square is 10 gr. And we need 130 squares , so 130*10=1300gr. So we need 13 woollen balls of 100gr.🌸🌸

    • @gretan4439
      @gretan4439 2 роки тому +2

      Your comment literally just saved me, I was about to order 20 balls of 100gr, because I never realised that you could actually calculate the amount you need, even though it’s so easy to do. I don’t know why I never thought of that hahaha Thank you

    Jayda I absolutely looooove your tutorials. I love that you explain everything so clearly & concise to easy understanding & of course I enjoy your bubbly personality. I'm currently working on a star stitch crochet baby blanket for my granddaughter. Now, my daughter and I would like to add a lovely soft minky back lining and binding to the blanket as a finishing touch. Now my question is....."What would be the best approach to do this?" We want a clean finished stitch, but we are skeptical of it gathering if I sew it with my sewing machine. Would it be better if I just hand sew it?? Could you please please please do a helpful tutorial on how to do this? Please???? I've searched UA-cam, and couldn't find a single tutorial for this yet.

    Hi Jayda, great tutorial! thank you for the quick reply on how many squares make a blanket, and this tutuorial really helps.
    Since I am a beginner crochett (two months ha!) I started making granny squares from your tutorial and after making quit a few squares and gaining confidence, I started wondering on the what I was making and how to put it together. With this new confidence I started a pattern of squares and placed them on a table to see how I wanted the pattern to look. I know it will take a few weeks to complete or more but once done I will share!
    thanks again! I love your tutorials!

      Hi Sharon, Thank you for watching! Yarn, tension, hook size and pattern stitches all vary and with it, the amount of yarn required...not to mention how big you make your blanket! The best way to get a solid "guesstimate" of how much yarn you'll need is to make a small sample, say around 6 inches by 6 inches. Use the hook, yarn and stitch pattern that you want to make the blanket out of. Once you've hit your target measurements, unravel and measure the yarn in meters or yards. This way you'll know that for every 6 inch (or 15 cm) square piece of blanket, you'll be required "X" number of meters or yards of yarn :)
