I eat the white every day on open face sandwiches or toasted with butter with my eggs and bacon. It does not spike my blood glucose and i do test to 3 hours after consuming. I love the stuff. Thank you for your testing.
At different points of my keto journey I was having 1 piece a day of this white bread (i purchased it on 3 occasions before i realized a common factor. each time i started a new loaf, that on sbout the 3rd day, my glucose showed to have been on the rise. Because this happened every time i began a loaf, it was enough for me to " assume" the bread was the culprit. I made the decision to throw the 3rd loaf once I discovered this. I think this was a classic example of " carb creep" for me.
I eat unbelievabun 1 bun every 2 weeks as a treat, with a hot dog or burger. When I get the delivery, I put each bun in a ziploc and put in freezer then just take 1 out every 2 weeks. I am ultra low carb and IF on other days, otherwise.
I buy this bread. I love it. It’s so soft and is the best sub in my markets by far. It’s suppose to be chilled/frozen bc it molds really fast. Anytime I don’t keep it in my fridge it molds pretty fast. If I keep it in my fridge it lasts a very long time. That’s why you find it in the freezer section.
I have been making my own keto bread for 7 years. I have tried other keto breads but none can compare with my own, especially when it comes to taste, texture, cost and glucose response.
I'm shocked that you ate products with soybean oil and sacrificed your body for these tests. I hope it doesn't cause you further discomfort! That alone is a reason to love this video, thumbs up and comment! Thank you for all you do for the Keto community! 😁
I've thought about making my own bread but I just don't miss bread enough to be motivated to make it so I have tried various ones and they all spiked the sugar but I only eat it when I want a cheese toastie which is maybe 2x a year. Thank you for testing these breads. It is nice not having to do it.
I've had both the white bread and wheat bread and never had a spike on my Levels/Dexcom CGM. Don't think I've ever had more than a 15 point rise in glucose using Extraordinary Bites products. I never tried it by itself, always paired it with some protein and fat so I'm sure that was the difference. You are right, it's not the cleanest bread, but it's convenient and I don't eat it daily.
Thank you for being so thorough, as always! 👍👍 I will pass on even trying due to soy and wheat, but I still very much appreciate the info on your glucose & inflammatory responses.
I actually fell in love with their Texas Toast. It made great French Toast...which is what I mostly used it for. Their other stuff was meh. Walmart is not great about keeping the full line in.
It baffles me as well. I mean, keto people are used to paying more for these sort of products and we also tend to be fairly ingredient conscious. So why not use a better oil and raise price of the bread by a few cents?
Thanks Steve for doing this with different types of bread. I have never found anything that matches making my own low carb bread using indigo Nili 2.0 bread recipe ingredients, healthy carbs, healthy my blood sugar, not jumping.
Thanks again for taking one for the team! I avoid all bread products, slippery slope and all. But i will always watch your videos. Always entertaining.
I had tried the white bread and it spiked my blood glucose, making me shy away from the other products. After seeing this, I'm going to give the rolls a try.
Thanks for "taking one for the team" once again. Nice to hear that most of these work well. I wonder if they make full size buns at all. I miss the Aldi ones.
So true the texture changes when toasted. The feel in your mouth is completely different. I use bread from Aldi that has Zero net carbs. I toast with butter. I only eat it about once a week with clotted cream and my homemade cranberry jam. It’s a real treat!
I really enjoy videos like these and even just reviews in general without glucose testing. I applaud you being a guinea pig so we can be more informed. I'm still trying to get my a1c out of the prediabetic range so I'm hesitant to try these breads at this stage. Plus I follow Dr. Westman's program and stick to 20 total carbs. Hopefully someday I can add/try one of these.
I like the bagels and hamburger buns. I do have to drive to a Walmart further away from my house, so I buy a few of each. I don't eat them every day, maybe once or twice a week. I do agree with you on the white bread. I also found pizza crust at my Walmart, they taste like the bagel, but very thick. I would slice in half or just us a bagel. Thanks for the review.
I wonder if the addition of allulose to the Hawaiian bread caused that dip. Allulose supposedly keeps your blood sugar from rising even if you pair it with a higher carb meal and it could also lower your sugar after eating it.
Thanks for another review, the bagels and rolls might be worth looking into. I saw some low carb bread in the freezer section, don't remember the brand, but I couldn't justify the cost considering how little bread I eat
I’ve pretty much given up breads. I haven’t had one that tastes as satisfying as traditional bread. And they just open up a door for me to overeat. Same with other commercial keto snacks. They just don’t work for me. Thanks for trying these.
Thanks for another great review! Right now, I can't find these anywhere, and nobody seems to have any in stock, including their own site. This appears to be a problem with several keto companies. Lately, I have had to cancel a subscription with another company charging me and not fulfilling the order, then refunding me in around thirty days. They did it to me for three months and made me feel like a thirty-day no-interest loan company. Hopefully, they'll get some in and get their supply up. For now, I'll keep making my own.
Isolate is simply protein powder. It’s usually not listed that way because it doesn’t say what type it is. Protein isolate is generally described as whey, casein or whatever the type. Not sure I’d trust such an incomplete description. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I can’t eat anything with wheat, so these wouldn’t get past my door. Thanks for doing these tests. It often brings some things to my attention that I can test on myself.
Thank you for sending me this video. I did not know that you tested this already. I think I’m gonna stop using this bread as well because it does make me hungry.
1 NET CARB bread is very tastey, great texture(compared to other KETO breads)... however, this is made with Tapioca starch - varied reviews of this flour.
Thanks, Steve, I wish they would have the product at the Walmart near me, but they only carry the white bread. Maybe if it sells well, they will offer the other products. Those sliders you made looked delicious.
Hello Steve, thank for doing this review on this bread. Not good ingredients sadly, but it’s the one I find closest to my favorite Wonder white soft bread I grew up on. Soybean, palm oil, and or canola are not good at all. Any suggestions if there’s any lowcarb or keto bread brand closest to Wonder Bread id appreciate your suggestions.
We've been buying Arnold Keto Seeded Bread at Publix and it's honestly not bad at all, my husband really likes it. The seeded version is better than the regular version. The hot dog and hamburger buns are good as well. They're not dry at all, rather moist but dense. We tried freezing them to keep them fresh, but the moisture content must have done something to them because they became VERY dense and kind of flat. The Seeded bread freezes well.
Love those hamburger buns, (grilled is the BEST!) also the Hawaiian rolls, but we can’t get them anymore here in WA state, only the white or wheat bread. I want to make my own bread (well I tried once, it was indigo nili 0.5 version, not so good). Time for me to try the 2.0 mentioned in other comments herein, and Deirdre’s recipe (have a bread machine but I’ve never used yet.)
I am making Ketogenic Woman's Bread Recipe and prefer that to all the store brands. Basically eggs, cream of tartar, salt gelatine and butter. Sometimes I add a bit of yeast for flavour. So much cleaner and better for you than Franken Breads.
Does vinegar as an ingredient affect the glycemic index of the product? I know many people drink apple cider vinegar to control blood sugar. Could vinegar be incorporated into carbohydrate food recipes in order to blunt the gi?
I will stick with the ketobakes bread mixes based on this test. They taste good, don’t induce cravings for me and the ingredients are more clean keto. Thanks
Thank you fro your review! I was afraid you were going to be terribly uncomfortable with all that soybean oil, so I'm glad it wasn't too bad! I have seen this in our store but haven't tried because of the soybean oil.
yesterday i had 1/2 bagel and i had the worst gas! i try to eat 1/2 bagel every once in awhile and last 2 times i had bad gas. this was the first time in months. One reason because of the gas. I only eat wheat occasionally. This is why.
Thanks Steve for another great product review!😃👍 I will have to look for that brand, but in the meantime I'll eat Aldi's keto bread. Have a blessed week 💜 🙏 ✌️ 🌞 💐 🎶
Interesting, This is Hangry Half Asian's favorite bread too. I had to get a second opinion before i buy this. thanks for the test, i felt like this bread was too good to be true.
I'm Celiac and follow keto so gluten is a no go but if you happen to test any gluten-free keto breads I would be interested but as a type 1 diabetic I find this quite interesting 🤔🙂
Yeah, I was not a fan of the white bread either. Same for the hamburger buns. But I do like the wheat bread and the Hawaiian rolls. I buy a bag like once every 1-3 months. I have not tried their texas toast.
Ya der hey from another Scony! Thanks for putting yourself though this! I was wondering what you thought of Sami’s Bakery low carb 7 grain fiber bread. I got it at Woodmans in Waukesha in the frozen bread section. I thought it tasted pretty good, and the oil in it is olive oil instead of soybean oil.
Thanks for the info. I'm in the northwest corner of Waukesha, practically Pewaukee. I wish Woodman's were on my side of town, as I rarely make it over there.
Thank you Steve. Soy oil is cheap so the companies can use it to keep the cost lower. I would prefer to pay for better oil. I don't do well with soy so I try to avoid it.
the main reason I watch your video because you read, taste and test all your produce before I buy them. and also, being honest about it.
Thank you for making the time to test all those breads for us.
I will definitely steer clear of this. Thank you again for your sacrifice.
Thanks for taking another one for the team! If I can find them I might try the rolls. I appreciate all you do !

What kind of bread do u make? Recipe?

Is that the recipe you make with a bread machine?

Yes I eat the Sola breads as well....especially the blueberry bagels!
Thanks Steve, really appreciate all the testing you do for the community.
Thank you!

What Is fully refined soybean oil?
Well I would say at least use coconut oil olive oil avocado oil palm oil anything but soybean oil 😂😂 that's the cheap of the cheap

well, checked my local Walmart super center - they only have the one net carb, so that's a no go. Thanks for always being willing to try things out.

The wheat gluten and the soybean are not good for me. I track total carbs as well
Thank you for the test and review. ❤️🥰❤️

Yeah, ever since "supply chain issues" started being a thing a couple of years ago, it's hard to find A LOT of stuff (especially keto).

Arnold is Brownberry in the Midwest and Orowheat on the West Coast. Same company, 3 different names.
I've been using the Oroweat low carb bread. Its much better than anything I've tried previously.
Orowheat (west coast), Brownberry (Midwest), and Arnold (east coast) are all the same bread - just different names. In case you see reviews of those.

Omg you were so cute when you read the ingredient of water and said “that’s okay” 😂
We use the hamburger buns by this company. They hold up pretty well to a juicy burger, taste decent, and have only 1 carb!
