    Really interesting insight into the psychological aspects of serve/return - I like the concept of natural swings too. Thanks Zach!

      It was great to hear Zach talk about the mental side. Something that can be overlooked and that can make such a big difference.

    Great video! Are you waiting for the grip to be fully black to change it on the 1000z? Still would go with the colour scheme tbf 😂

    What is the likely return of serve when hitting to the body? I think i heard correctly thst servinf to the t is more likely for a backhand push to the side snd to the forehand its likely going to come across.
    Thanks again for the video

      It would be dependant on natural swing still that zach was talking about and covering the more likely option, backhand would promote more a left to right swing and forehand would be more right to left swing (right hander). As mentioned it’s not to say they can’t play other shots but it’s covering the most likely and having a clear plan with your partner what to cover as a pair. Hope that helps 😀

    What hapend if we are holding nutral grip.. Not forehand. And not backhand

    • @TheBadmintonZoneHQ
      @TheBadmintonZoneHQ  27 днів тому +2

      If the returner has a neutral grip then you could use Zach’s advice about thinking about natural swing paths, also keep an eye on overplayed returns and focus on those. We hope you found the video useful.

    Awesome video....... how about some info on the signs you use to communicate..... please......

    • @TheBadmintonZoneHQ

      An example could be
      1. Low serve to T
      2. Low serve to body
      3. Low serve out wide
      4. Flick down the middle
      5. Flick out wide
      This can obviously be adapted to suit yourself and your partner. You could also add another option to the body due to the point Zach mentioned about natural swing paths. A serve to the right shoulder may promote a different reply than if you served to the left shoulder. Let us know how you get on 👍

    Most of your examples were drive returns that are categorically not as good shots as netshots. Drive returns are in the book only because when the opponent is so good that they'll be covering the net tightly, you need to go past the front player. If the server is sleeping and won't cover the net, play netshot return only, cos it's the better shot.

    • @TheBadmintonZoneHQ
      @TheBadmintonZoneHQ  21 день тому

      We agree the net return is a great return to play due to its short flight time, we highlighted this as well with Zach as he likes to play at the net so it’s a great way to stay forward.
      We looked at the return to the deep backhand corner as it’s such a common shot that is played at club level, however some players aren’t sure where to go after and we wanted to highlight some options using Zach’s experience.
      Thanks for taking the time to comment.

    One serve combo I received from a Malaysian coach is that serving(left) slightly right to a RH player left thigh(but not the single's line) will almost always be returned with a cross if the opponent is aggressive. Source: ua-cam.com/video/XxMk56Hj8aE/v-deo.html
    Very insightful videos. I hope you guys can elaborate and provide us more combos similar to this.

      This is what Zach was talking about in the way of natural swings as well. It’s a very effective place to serve for people that struggle to change the natural swing path.
      Thanks for the support, we have lots of exciting content coming up over the next couple of months. Stay tuned 😀👍

    Great insight in to how a pro player places importance on predicting replies to gain a third shot interception and dictate the rally and set up a play for your partner. Very helpful video. More please 👍🏸
