    As a strategy I set up one of my opponents to start an argument thus making him mentally weak. He argues at the start of the match it must be a woman serving to a woman. Then he demands that my partner may not choose which side she stands on when I am serving. 🙄I tell him the woman can stand where she wants. The only exception is that he must have a clear view of me serving. (Illegal: hiding the shuttle behind the woman's back & then serving it). He also starts this argument when he is a spectator. It is entertaining!

    🏸🏸 can't wait for next week's vid! One more question though, at club level, we would usually play XD vs MDs as we don't have many female players, how do we alter our strategies for XD vs MDs or even WDs? TIA!

    • @JLneonhug
      @JLneonhug 2 роки тому

      Common misconception is that the woman has to smash as hard as the men's, this is not true and usually a disadvantage. For the XD pair they would focus on placement and tactics, you'll find cross court shots more effective as it works the MD/WD to rotate/move more. Assuming all are fairly equal, the XD man will need to work much harder on footwork if you go at speed, or if MD/WD decides to lift everything... Its best for XD to play as much attacking placement shots as possible, minimise on high "reset" lifts, more counter lift/drives...
      Finally, the XD lady has to be active/aggressive at the net, this is the vital thing in XD, you cant win rallies at the back with XD vs MD (unless your XD man has killer smashes).

    🏸🏸 great work as always! One question: As a male, returning on the odd side, a typical return in MD is the forehand brush/push down the left side (receiver’s POV). However, this can easily expose my female partner to a deep backhand if the opponent’s shot goes over my head (which is the common shot). Should I always just look to move back as quick as possible, or is this just considered a bad/rare return in XD? Thanks so much!

    Thanks guys. Good video!
    My woman likes to tell me she wants to learn to be stronger at the back, and therefore wants me to stand in front of her when I’m serving. But er... she hasn’t gotten better (😂) even after years of playing together. Thank God when we play in competitions she’d revert back to standing in front.
    Another thing is, how do we overcome the fear of the flick? Many amateur players stand too far back in court when receiving, resulting in them having to lift when playing the return of serve.

      Oh no that's not the best match to watch! First tip is to not get an incompetent service judge (not saying they were) and second tip is to just try and lower it!
