- In this Live Lesson we take one of our players through a doubles defence session.
First we made a few technical changes, before stress testing the new technique.
Then we look at how he can improve his tactical defensive play, a lot of players play reactively instead of proactively when defending.

Great vid. Liking that it's aimed at those in the intermediate to advanced classifications. More like this please!
Pleased you enjoyed, thanks for the feedback. 👍
Great session for Andrew 👍
Thanks ! Again, such an amazing video. It's really hard to improve for amateur players, once their reach certain level, because there is very little information on such thin aspects across the internet. You have such unique content ! Hope your channel will grow really big next year, because you deserve it.
Thank you very much, this comment really means a lot to us as we think long and hard about how we can make new and unique content. Thanks for your support, it’s much appreciated.
Excellent lession. Thank you for teaching.
Glad you liked it! Check out our other lessons on our channel. 👍
i start watching some of your videos. gotto say it. Amazing job bro. Love that litttle tip that can make your game a lot better.
We really appreciate it! Hope it helps you with your game. 👍
A good offensive win matches.
A good defensive win championships!
It’s definitely important to have both skills when needed 👍
Great video guys! Both for players and (starting) coaches. It gives insight in the technical part but also a bit on the tactical part for the player but also for a coach on which details to focus on but most important WHY!
Besides the level of exercises is really for intermediate players instead of the beginner throw (maybe feed with racket) & hit exercises you often see.
Keep on the good mix of technical, tactical and live lessons!
Thanks so much for your detailed feedback, really pleased you enjoyed the video. 👍
Another great in-depth video!
Glad you liked it!
Superb video. Rarely seen such good tactical analysis and purposeful defensive shots.
Thanks very much for your comment, pleased you enjoyed the video. 👍
This video is excellent, enjoy this style. It’s very helpful 😊
Pleased you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching 👍
it's a great video and i love the way it was presented. you talked to andrew about bringing his racket up a bit when he forced you to reply from below the tape. if you watch players like tony gunawan or lee yong dae, you'll see they not only brought their rackets up in these situations but they also brought the dominant leg slightly forward for a more aggressive reply. lyd in particular would be constantly judging this and adjusting his stance between more defensive (dominant leg slightly behind) and aggressive (dominant leg slightly forward) positions
Thanks for the positive comment, pleased you enjoyed it.
Very good comment regarding the racket leg coming forwards when the shuttle starts to turn flat, this is due to the player no longer feeling like they are on the defence and see it as a great chance to counter attack and therefore can lead with their racket leg. 👍
Very nice videos. We tryed out your doubles drills yesterday and we could allready see an improvement after the first training. We are exited for the next training sessions. So keep up the good work please ♥🏸
Thanks for the comment, great to hear you’re trying out some of routines and you are finding them useful.
wow amazing content. some of the best badminton content on youtube right now
Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a positive comment, this really means a lot to us. Thanks for watching 👍
Awesome, I feel like I am learning loads from this style of video, keep up the great work
Glad to hear it! Thanks for the comment 👍
Very nice video. Totally different with other badminton video where they only show how it is done without really coaching and correcting technique. It would be nice if there's a video similar to this for smash technique
Thanks for the positive feedback, we can certainly look at the smash in the future. 👍
Nice video! Hopefully u guys make a video on BODY ROTATION in doubles overhead shots! When to take backhand and when to take overhead! I always struggle in games with this@@@
Pleased you enjoyed it, we can look at that in the future 👍
Thanks for watching
Amazing video! One question, will the grip always be in bevel or backhand thumb?
Pleased you liked the video. You will start on the bevel grip as it is more universal and most shots will be played this way. Some of the higher shots may use more of a thumb grip. It’s important to keep a light grip pressure which makes changing between grips easier. Thanks for watching 👍
Thank you for the lesson bros❤️🙏
You’re welcome, pleased you liked it 👍
