It sucks for Oliver, but he gotta be driving a lot more defensively especially after being in a few accidents already. Like the Range Rover one, the guy is flying down the right lane and you kinda have an idea of what his intention is going to be. May as well give him the opening to cut. Same with the Mcdonald's one, he should see that the clueless guy in front of him is going to fail the overtake in the parking lot, and leave the space open. He also went way too quickly in the parking lot trailing the white BMW SUV and would have had a lot faster reaction time after seeing the SUV brake and swerve to the right.
Yeah, there are things he can do to make the events less likely to happen. He does fill up an empty space in front of him instantly, which can lead to some of his incidents. Still, his is a case where he could do things to make it less likely to happen, but he does not carry much if anything of the blame.
Just a bit more pragmatism in his driving might be smart. Assume you're surrounded by fools.

The amount of comments here not realizing that Oliver is indeed also a terrible driver, is fucking staggering. He drives like an aggressive asshole, but somehow its always everyone else fault.
@@splitloopgaming3523 Because *technically* Oliver is not at fault, as far as ICBC legal driving laws, but Oliver has absolutely no concept of defensive driving. He just keeps going or stays stopped despite clear signs that he should move his car to avoid an accident. The definition of book smart, but not street smart 😂

One day I'll see me in here (but hopefully not) and how close stupidity has come against me as a pedestrian. There's quite a few intersections I consistently see in VWDD that I frequent and often see the same issues, I've become paranoid crossing these streets over the years to the point I assume the car behind me WILL hit me even on a red or stop .Been tempted to carry a pov walking cam. The close calls when I'm already in the middle of the cross walk is disgusting to see the level of awareness some have

All these operators of a motor vehicle are in fact required to follow the motor vehicle act, which by the is supported or not by ICBC. All these individuals are taught, trained, tested, licensed, insured and sponsored by ICBC!
Some of these drivers submitting videos need to be proactive as well and SLOW the F down when there’s a car clearly driving in there way.

Not sure i feel bad for Oliver. Most of these could either have been avoided if Oliver used his horn or gave the offending drivers some extra space. None of these accidents were his fault per se, but a few could have been avoided.
Oliver's accidents 4 5 & 6 looked avoidable, maybe backing even a foot when the bmw reversed into that spot would've worked. Sometimes seems like people with dash cams don't bother cause they know blame will not be on them
I wish we had those GIANT stickers you could slap on a windshield, like they do in Russia, whenever you are someone parked badly. Perfect for that woman picking up her dry-cleaning

Don't drive in Vancouver anymore. Used to drive a commercial vehicle 4 a dozen years. Main reason i don't drive in Vancouver anymore. Only wish i had a dashboard cam when i drove here.
Best part about Oliver's situation is that even though he's legally required to pay for insurance. And even tho he wasn't at fault for any of the accidents. His insurance rate is gonna go sky high, and his driving abstract is gonna be beyond screwes

it seems like Oliver lives in my area, my car's bumper got scratched 2 times in 2 weeks and no note left behind. Edmonds area is full of people who don't take accountability for their actions :)

Alright...I really hate to say this, but technically, Oliver SHOULD be taking evasive action to avoid getting hit @8:45. There's a reason Defensive Driving is emphasized in Canada. If you have the ability to avoid the accident, you should take that action safely. I don't work for ICBC or anything but it's best to avoid any interaction with them if you can.

At 1:24 it's worth noting that many vehicles these days - particularly vans but also cars - have a real wide A-pillar that can hide a pedestrian on the far corner. The driver should look for them, instead of assuming they'll see them.
Pedestrians need to learn that pushing the button isn't enough, you gotta make eye contact with the massive thing that may just end you. Eh?
When turning always check for pedestrians, especially when making a left. I've made it a habit to move my head around the A-pillar as some people like to hide behind the pole. Also, be aware of any cyclists that may be coming from your left shoulder blindspot and I've had an incident where a kid on a bike was pedalling through the intersection at max speed to try to make it across in time.
As a pedestrian, you should also be aware of cars and that not everything is as careful driving as you may be. When crossing at a light, I always make sure the left turning driver can see me and make eye contact or just wave at them.
dark clothing on a rainy day, doesn't help either, in uk the pedestrians cross when no traffic is moving, its safer, and none of this turn right on a red light malarkey either.... blind spots hide pedestrians you need to extra cautions...
Honestly if you find yourself getting into multiple accidents, you should probably evaluate your own driving abilities.

Also sorry to say but Oliver needs to improve as a driver if he's getting in to that many accident's. Almost been hit countless times in Vancouver but being able to avoid an accident is much better then being not at fault in one.

I wish I had my dash cam last year. Coming down into West Kelowna I saw this late 1980's early 90's red Chevy Cavalier RS Coupe (N driver) with 5 teenage girls going at least 90-110 k weaving in and out of traffic. This was a Sunday late afternoon in the summer and traffic was moderately heavy. How they avoided hitting anyone, I don't know.

That is a great idea to have videos from all over BC sent. I see quite a few bad drivers in the Okanagan and many have lower mainland car dealer decals on them. I know it's only a few that make it worse for the rest.

@@vancouversworstdrivers The most common things I notice about driving here, driving slow in the left lane, when you use your blinker to change lane people will often just not let you change lanes speeding up just to spite you or something, and never turning into your own lane. I'm from back east, these are just some if the things that leap out at me as strange
