Thank you for making this. I’m going out try it on my Avet SX before taking to Squidco to get serviced. Just subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work and videos.
Next question on the spindle. Is the spep down also longer as i made a spindle for mxj no problem but the one i made for sx g1 2speed going tight when i screw back together
As usual your videos are very informative and fun. Have you chosen a career path yet? You would make a fine surgeon or machinist. Good luck with your life's ventures. I wish you well. .
The drag rail has one side with the cutout of freespool, the free spool cutout should be facing opposite the direction you turn the handle. I hope this clears it up you can watch the video again to clarify what I am saying
Two good questions for you on an avet g1 2speed i know the spindle. Longer to coupe with the extra gear do you be any chance have the correct size as im trying to make one
I do not know unfortunately sorry. Good luck on making one though! Avet makes spars parts on their website you might find some thing that works before you make it
There is a retractable ball that makes the ratcheting sound on the lever. Check so see if it is still springy or it is rusted in the depressed position
Hi Derrick I just finish maintenance my reel but the spool is not spinning correctly it's very slow. I follow all the steps that you did. Will you know why it's not spinning fast like yours
If you are having difficulties, look at my description and check out the reel schematic, you can see how the reel is assembled and see if anything is out of place. If you greased the reel body where the clicker is, make sure that grease is not touching the spool when it is reassembled (you don't see grease leaking out when its assembled at the part where the spool meets the body) because that will slow down the spin. Make sure that you didn't use too much grease cause that mind bind up stuff. Please update me on your progress I want to help you out!
i gave it some thought and I think I know whats stopping your spool from spinning correctly like mine, the raptor has 2 drag plates and in the video you see me put the second plate on top of the black drag washer, what you want to do in your case is put the second drag plate (the ones with holes on it not the one with spikes) and put it on the side plate (make sure the holes are still facing the drag washer, you aren't flipping the piece you are just putting it on the other side to make it fit easier, when you are putting the drag plate on the other side make sure the dog is seated, just rotate the drag plate until it catches) hope this helps
@@lonelyboi615 put the drag plate on the side like what you see when I reassemble it, I think your problem is that the spikes on the two drags aren't aligning and your drag is binding the spool, did you have any resistance screwing back on the side plate? The two body pieces should come together smoothly and the screws should go in smoothly
why doesnt any one in the states use kerosene to properly clean and soak gears and bearing and to properly degrease a reel fully ? i have yet to see anyone fully degrease a fishing reel completely and have all the parts super cleaned compressed air them dry then re grease the reel fully cleaned. Am i the only person who can be bothered to do this .
As per request by one of my viewers Night Life, I made a video on what I do to service my reels
Thank you derrick for posting the video I'm going to service my reel now. Thanks for the help
Thank you! I have a Avet MXL 6/4 MC 2-Speed so its not exactly like this one, but close enough. This got me there! Appreciate it.
Always glad to help

Great video thanks brotha

The side with the smaller diameter seems to be shorter

I have decided to work as a civil engineer :)
@@DerrickVan Good for you. I believe you will be a good one.
Thank so much, so helpful and I can do it by myself 😘😘😘
Glad I can help
Hey bro can u tell me which way the spacers go for the drag rail, I accidentally took them off and I don’t know which way they go back on.

Servicing my avet and noticed our profile pictures are almost exactly the same😂
Haha ours do like almost the same. Nice choice in your profile picture 😂
My lever isn’t making the ratchet sound anymore, do u know what I can do?

Tyyyyy!

@@DerrickVan I put everything in order just like in your video I placed the drag plate correctly just like yours.

@@lonelyboi615 9:39 you see how the plate is on the other side? When I put them together you hear a clunking sound, thats the spikes grabbing
Why don't u grease your drag washers
Per the manufacturer, it’s recommended not to grease the drag washer. Two schools of thought, but you can grease if you want to. Tight lines!
