I was in the 9th grade in 1978, and I got snide remarks from white students and Black's for being a black youth who liked and listened to BOSTON .My middle brother got their first album . I bought the Don't look back album and Pieces of Eight album by STYX with money from my summer job that year. The point is that I never listened to idiots and I'm a professional musician now, and I still listen to these bands. I'm nice, but Im stubborn, and I like what I like . To see the hosts here digging that Boston song 🎵 for me is CONFIRMATION. HALLELUJAH !!
I was high school summer DJ. Played all genres. Love all kinds of it’s good. I grew up when all kinds of music was played on the radio. Pop, singer songwriter, rock, metal, country, funk and r and b. It’s all good. Well no, most of its crap, but I find good in all the genres. Hahaha. Fuck what other people think ❤
I was born in 99 and in 2005 my dad was playing boston and what I heard literally changed the course of my life. Started playing guitar cuz of this song and now I'm actually playing professionally. Tom Scholz is my idol

Been a Boston fan since I was 10 years old, just turned 57. This was the short version of the song that was cut due to it being a promo. Check the audio version, it is longer and sounds better than the video you saw. After all these years I still hear different harmonies and melodies to these songs from Boston. And they sound great live, seen them about 10 times and they never miss a beat. Thank you for the reactions.

I have a special relationship to this song. I was several months after graduating college, living in New Jersey, working for my father. I had always worked for my father and figured I would eventually take over the family business. This put a real strain on my relationship with my father, and I was pretty unhappy. My then-girlfriend (later to become my first wife, then my ex wife) had a connection to get a job in Boston. So we drove to Boston one weekend for her to interview for the job. I fell in love with the city. She got the job, and I was to find a job myself and meet her here. It was a huge deal for me to think of leaving the family business behind. At night, I would frequently play this song loudly (in headphones so as not to disturb my landlady) while building up the courage to tell my father I was leaving. Not only were the lyrics exactly what I needed, and not only was the band from Boston (the city I was headed for) but they bore the name of that city..
Years later, I'm 61 now, my first wife has long since moved away. I'm married a second time. My father's been gone for more than 20 years (and my mother for a year), though I made peace with him before he died. And I'm still living in and loving Boston (and loving the band Boston too!)
Make sure to react to Boston's studio version of each of their songs. Their live songs are often cut off and shortened. They have so many great hits. Boston's entire discography is packed full of feel good, rockin', inspirational songs.

Boston is one of the most harmonious rock bands ever. I never get tired of that song, and you guys put an incredible energy into what you do.
Just so you know , all those guys were attending MIT when they made this album. The drummers daughter is married to Dwayne Johnson (The Rock)

One..listening to this band with headphones on is the best way to hear it. Two..I'm 57 and still get goosebumps.
Three..on a spiritual level, this is one of the bands that taped me on the shoulder in the dark & said hey there's light out there.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Boston!!!!!!!!!! My spouse had me make a promise to them,when he passed away,I was to play this song by his graveside,once everyone had left. His reasoning was he had lead his life to the best of his ability,there was no looking back,he loved,lost,had a career,and he felt that he had lived his best life,and he was not looking back.(fyi,this is my husbands account,as I don't have one myself...)Thanks for playing this song...Makes me think of Thomas when I hear it,and all the memories we've made together over the last 40 yrs together.

I am 53 years old and I listen to a lot of different genres of music. This is one of my favorite songs of all time and that freaking guitar riff. Wow! I live in Florida, so whenever I’m driving back from the beach I’m always playing this song.

This album/song came out in 1978.In 1995 I was in a dying relationship. I bought a house and moved out. The last time I left that appt on my car, left her standing there lookin stupid, this was the song that came on the radio. Felt like God was telling me I was doin what had to be done. All these years later, no regrets.
Oh my I saw the title and I was like " I don't think I know this song" but as soon as I heard the first note I was like "oh yeah I know this" lol I love it lol and you guys are so right. I miss feel good music like this. I feel like the music nowadays can be so negative or overly sexualized.

This is my all time favorite Boston song. As with most “Official” song videos, they are lip syncing to the record here. All the crowd noise you hear was dubbed in which I think took a little away from the song, which they also took part of the song away making it shorter.

This isn't the whole song.
One of the greatest songs ever on my list, however this is the worst version of it to listen to, it's a chopped down version of the studio recording which wasn't done live in front of an audience, and much of the great parts of the song are missing. Try listening to the full length studio version with lyrics for a better experience. I never liked any songs done with an 'official video', somehow they lose something in the process
