By the time I heard Brad Delp sing for the first time, I was a classically trained pianist. And it irritated me how it seemed that none of my peers heard the technical and musical perfection in Delp’s voice the way I did.

Your channel is really cool. I love how you professionally break down what the singers do. That said Brad Delp was an incredible vocalist. I don't know where he would land and how great but he's got to be the top three or five in rock and roll for sure. He did every single Harmony on the music you heard as well as all the harmonies on all their other albums. The band though does pull it off well and cover his parts. Pretty good. He does all the real high parts obviously.
He lived in New Hampshire and was also in a band called Beetlejuice which was a Beatles tribute band when Boston wasn't touring. My friend who lives in Massachusetts used to go see them all the time. Another dear friend of mine who is now gone was a guitar tech to Tom Schultz, the lead guitar player and wizard behind Boston so he knew Brad very well. From what both my friends said of. Brad was that he was the nicest guy in rock and roll. He wouldn't leave until every fan got the picture or autograph they wanted. My friend that lives in Massachusetts met him about three or four times and always talk to him and even remembered his name. I believe. It's sad that Brad suffered from anxiety issues. My friend that was the guitar tech to Tom said Brad would always be petrified before going on stage and once he hit the stage you would never know he was previously scared. Yeah this band's incredible. I've had the pleasure of seeing them once live phenomenal.

I love Boston! I remember listening to their album over and over again as a teenager.
I would love for you to listen and react to Steve Perry/Journey Why Can’t This Night Go On Forever. It’s a beautiful song that hasn’t gotten enough credit. Tfs

Putting aside for a moment how amazing Brad Delp's voice was, I loved how he always seemed to be smiling, at least for the videos. Makes it so enjoyable when it looks like the band is having fun on stage.

Reaction Suggestion - Steve Perry (of Journey) told this guy he sings high. Wow!!! Check out the song Fight the Good Fight (or Never Surrender) by the band Triumph, Live at the US Festival 1983. The singer is Rik Emmett. He has amazing vocal range. And... imagine nailing these songs live in front of 300,000 fans!

Great to see Don't Look Back featured. Typically someone starts with More Than A Feeling but, as has been said, there's no bad song to choose.
I had their first album (on 8-track) when it came out in 1976 and basically wore it out. Then my brother bought this one and we wore it out, too.

You have a good ear. When you were talking about the “hey” you nailed it, it’s right in the middle, as you said.
Delp was an amazing singer with a great range. Be sure to check out some of their studio recordings. I know live recordings leave everything a little more bare, so you can see what a singer can really do. But the quality of the sound is better preserved in the studio, making it a bit easier to appreciate the talent.
    RIP Brad

This was another great album from the mid seventies. I had this on 8-track back then.

Boston was one of the many great bands on the radio during my teens. IMHO, the 70s pruduced the best music in rock history.

THe late great Brad Delp, one of the most outstanding singers of the 70's & 80's. Listen to the studio recording now - painstakingly engineered by the band leader/lead guitarist, Tom Scholz. In his basement. Not kidding. Tom played almost all the instruments on the first album. If he didn't have the right piece of equipment, he built one from scratch. Unfortunately Brad took his own life after battling depression. Rest in peace, sir.

Saw Boston 7 times. 1976 at Ohio State and last 2007 in New York. Incredible group
Best debut IMO for an American Rock and Roll band.

There's a mini documentary about Boston the one man band you should watch, it's an insane accomplishment how this band was created. The guy in white playing guitar with the smirk on his face is the mastermind behind the band that he created out of his basement.
