This album was the soundtrack to my senior year in high school -- and I grew up in Boston! It was playing everywhere... and it was fire. Rock on! 70s baby!
Awesome buddy! A little younger and Philly here, but I get what you mean about those days, I was around then as a kid in South Philadelphia and had a plethora of aunts uncles and old heads who made sure I knew what it was all about. Definitely not perfect days, But glorious ones for sure 🖖
I think the songs from the 70's and the meaning behind them , Not only ring true in today's world , But are even more important & relevant in today's society !
I was 13 years old when this album was new and my father gave me this album and Styx’s Crystal Ball! I plum wore this album out!! Ohh the good memories!!!
I noticed Mel hit by the lyrics "Lots of people out there make believe their living ... can't decide who they should be". Yes this whole album is KILLER!!!
Nothing like blasting this on the car stereo even today. Ealier this year I pulled into the school to pick up the grandkids with this album blasting the looks I got from the younger parents and teachers was priceless . My grandkids don't like coming over cause they say I play my music too loud 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Boston still gets a ton of air play on Classic Rock stations. That riff on this song is killer.
Everybody should hear this song each morning before we all start our own grind! Don't be worrying about anything others than who you love and DO YOU. One the best songs EVER!!!!
Rip Brad Delp one of the best voices in rock, and he never really gets mentioned all that often check out the song called Party on their second album don’t look back another great tune can’t go wrong with Boston
My personal favorite.."Hitch a Ride", but the entire recording from 1976 goes down as a glistening diamond in rock n roll history. I enjoy your channel and thanks for the video!
I was a student at the University of Massachusetts when this album hit. When we heard a band chose "Boston" as their name, our reactions was "Well, they better not suck!" They certainly didn't! We were blown away by every track.
One of my favorite tracks, not just of Boston. It rocks your socks off but the message is fantastic and not corny. Hey, I was just thinking, if you haven't done any Allman Brothers, you should try Whipping Post, Dreams or Statesboro Blues of the Live from the Fillmore East album. They were an incredible band from the 70s.
Awesome reaction DJ Shawn and Mel, Boston had hit after hit for a little while. Listen to these guys all the time growing up. Songs- smokin' amanda, party, rock and roll band, feelin' satisfied,( hitch a ride ) is a banger. ✌❤🤘
I got this album when I was 12, and learned how to play the drums with it. I wore the record out. The greatest debut album ever made. Every single song is a banger.
“ now your climbing to the top of the competent ladder, hope it doesn’t take too long, can’t you see there’ll come a day when it don’t matter, come a day when you’ll be gone” That verse helped me place my life into perspective around 20 years ago, as I was spinning my own wheels! Rip great Brad, one of one and thank you for changing my views on life all thru these years! You are missed!!!seminal music such as this has saved my life many many times!
For many years, Boston’s debut album WAS the biggest selling debut album in history - 17 million copies! Only Guns & Roses “Appetite For Destruction” surpassed it with 18 million. “Boston” is definitely one of the best albums ever!
For years and years I thought he said " ... all I want is to have my piece of piiiie" ... 😮 ... 😆 🤣 ... I didn't know the name of the song and I was pretty young..
Tom S. who wrote the songs was an MIT at Panasonic camera and in a corporate situation that he had to get out of due to the high volume of stress at that job. Things songs are about that journey
First I wanna say I LOVE YALL! That (sound) that y’all keep referring to is more than likely analog records. These records were recorded in analog NOT digital like today. There’s a realness and warmth to an analog recording that digital just can’t replace.
Please react to eddie van halen eruption guitar solo. If you like guitar solos, you will love this. FYI, eddie van halen played the guitar in Michael Jackson's song, beat it.
I hope ya'll don't think of this as white music. All of 70s rock was influenced by 60s & 50s music, from the Beatles back to Elvis, who was very heavily influenced by black gospel and southern black music from his youth in the 40s. This is American rock music, which is a blend of black, white, and every other music ever written since music began. If you can't hear Elvis AND Beethoven in Queen, well....
This was my first album I bought in 1977, love every song and still have it. My second was Judas ac/dc Dirty deeds done dirt cheap, Bon Scott is way better that Brian Johnson although I do like the groups Back in Black, still got that album too.
Yeah. That entire album took us all by storm. Hit after hit. It was HUGE. Definitely one of the greatest debut albums ever
It would be very difficult to not include this in my top ten all time favorite albums list.
I still have mine !
Without question!! But that Infinity album by Journey with Steve Perry was something else too!!
This album was the soundtrack to my senior year in high school -- and I grew up in Boston! It was playing everywhere... and it was fire. Rock on! 70s baby!

70s best decade for music IMHO!
@@musicman6243 , Abouluty 💯 ... I was a teenager in the 70's best time for music ! The talent and creativity was like no other !
I was 13 years old when this album was new and my father gave me this album and Styx’s
Crystal Ball! I plum wore this album out!! Ohh the good memories!!!
Their voices were incredible but do you hear how their guitars sing!!!! They sing!! It's melodic, beautiful and it rocks!!

Other people: Your music's too loud!

Guitar in Hitch A Ride is rocking!
Everybody should hear this song each morning before we all start our own grind! Don't be worrying about anything others than who you love and DO YOU. One the best songs EVER!!!!
This entire album turned out to be volume 1 of their greatest hits, IMO.
Yes, the entire album was fire. Every single song. There aren't many like it, it is in a class almost by itself.
Rip Brad Delp one of the best voices in rock, and he never really gets mentioned all that often check out the song called Party on their second album don’t look back another great tune can’t go wrong with Boston
That album came in like a comet and took over music! Unbelievable!!!
I love Boston 😊❤ keep going and thanks for the great reaction ❤
This first album by Boston in my opinion was a total masterpiece
One of a very few albums i would call a masterpiece. And pure genius in every track.
My personal favorite.."Hitch a Ride", but the entire recording from 1976 goes down as a glistening diamond in rock n roll history. I enjoy your channel and thanks for the video!
High energetic song
React to Smokin' or Rock and Roll Band next. The more you listen the more you'll love them!
Thanks again for another great Boston song reaction! Love your energy!
Music and Lyrics for ALL Mankind and Womankind!!😊
"I'm guessing the entire album was fire..." What a guess! Yep, every single song at that same level.
This has always been my favorite Boston tune.
Hell yes, it was fire. The story behind this first album is insane. Great stuff!
Having survived the 1970's and the era of this music, I'm just damn happy I still have a piece of a mind.
Hey Y'all... THANKS for this trip down memory lane! I burned up the back roads as a kid blaring this 👍🐶😎🇺🇸
One of my favorite songs of all time. Great message about living life, great musicianship and very high energy and uplifting.
There isn't a bad song on this entire album.
Don't worry, I'm right here jammin with yah , keep rockin
I was a student at the University of Massachusetts when this album hit. When we heard a band chose "Boston" as their name, our reactions was "Well, they better not suck!" They certainly didn't! We were blown away by every track.
Another great reaction!
Thanks 😊
Loving the hair, Mel! ❤️👍

This album is one of my top 3 of all time!
God I LOVED that album!
I still do. More than ever actually.
Take a listen to Boston's,,, " Don't look Back"
I got this album when I was 12, and learned how to play the drums with it. I wore the record out. The greatest debut album ever made. Every single song is a banger.
Hey beautiful Mel and Shawn! I remember when this came out decades ago! This BOSTON FIRE will never go out! Lol. Thank you both.❤
Great song and reaction. I think that More Than a Feeling is the best from the album. Mel, your hair style looks gorgeous.
HAHAHA .i like how the dude put his hand up just like I did bacck then. 😍
The album is definitely fire. Smokin should be next!
Best album of all time….period.
This whole album is a classic of classic’s. Even if it were written today.
I really appreciate y’all 🙂 you seem like you would be fun people to be around! Great reactions 🙂🔥
Thanxz sawn N .. good song l like it
“ now your climbing to the top of the competent ladder, hope it doesn’t take too long, can’t you see there’ll come a day when it don’t matter, come a day when you’ll be gone”

Company ladder
Best debut album of all time not a bad song on the whole album.

If I could listen to only 10 albums for the rest of my life, Boston's debut album would be one of them!
Tom S. who wrote the songs was an MIT at Panasonic camera and in a corporate situation that he had to get out of due to the high volume of stress at that job. Things songs are about that journey
Tom worked for Polaroid, not Panasonic.
Did you notice the city inside the bubble on the guitar is Boston
I always wondered if whoever designed that cover art read Cities in Flight by James Blish?
Fearless by Jackson Dean is a great tune...😊
First I wanna say I LOVE YALL! That (sound) that y’all keep referring to is more than likely analog records. These records were recorded in analog NOT digital like today. There’s a realness and warmth to an analog recording that digital just can’t replace.
One of a handful of albums I never skip a track.
I miss the 70's guitar gods.
The Spaceships are guitars.
Please check out "Rock and roll band" it's a song about how they got their start.
Boston was 🔥 !!
Songs will forever sound fresh
One of my all time favorite riffs. It's just infectious and the harmonies are amazing!
Believe by Lenny Kravitz has a very similar sound in its solos.
Please react to eddie van halen eruption guitar solo. If you like guitar solos, you will love this. FYI, eddie van halen played the guitar in Michael Jackson's song, beat it.
Hi Guys, Peace of Mind is a great choice by Boston. I have another request please; "A Lovers Concerto" by The Toys, it's from the great 60's.
I’d just subscribed so you can do Boston , Someting about you!
Friends , this music age was better
😎👍
Boston is so good. Question: WHEN TF IS THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME PUTTING THEM IN?
Come on a Spaceship 🚀 Guitar 🎸 on the Cover, Classic Rock!
I hope ya'll don't think of this as white music. It's a definite pick me up, especially in this corporate day and age. You own you. You are worth more than money.
Hitch a Ride might be the best on the album.
How about Carrie Underwood’My Temporary Home’ I think you will like it.
The intro/outro guitar parts aren't solos, they're riffs.
Trapt - Headstrong please ❤
Yeah sadly Brad that Singer suffered from depression and probably other things committed suicide
Sadly Brad Delp never found his peace of mind. He took his own life March 8-9th 2009.
Really need to quit that singing
This whole album was recorded in his basement
