Yet more of the fascinating Sophia --- stepping right into the fray -- doing things a good percent of women either won't/ can't/ do .... and the family depends on a male to step up. Or the plumber is brought in. Couple of years ago a mega fan was born upon hearing the words from your mouth "I'll just drill the holes so the shelf will ...." I was stupefied. You were still in your work clothes having just gotten in. You were checking the kitchen cabinets... it was a new experience--- in my long life--- seeing and hearing the Woman of the house review the cabinetry work (kitchen) ..... acknowledging she did the original and will redo the shelving. I am glad I lived so long to have 'known' you exist. And then makes quilts... gardens.... rids the house of clutter.... cooks.... works.... A fan signs off.

I’m sure it is leaking from the bolts. I had NO idea what to and you have shown me just how easy it is to fix. Thanks so much for reading my mind🤣😂🤣 YOU’RE AWESOME!!!!❣️

Having now passed my 40th [not a typo] year in my "starter" home from July 1978, plumbing issues are an ever-present thing. The toilet is the easiest of them; the sewer line problems on a slab foundation -- the worst, and the lines with 100+ y.o. tree roots are even worse.
So, because the flapper valve being the cheapest and easiest to buy and replace [and the first to deteriorate], I have made it a policy to just keep a supply of about 5 or 6 of them in the plumbing drawer of my garage, and replace the flapper in each of the two bathrooms, about every-other year,
Nice job, Sophia. Going rate for general plumbers here is now about $200/hr PLUS a minimum trip charge of $125.00 [rip off] and that is for the easy, uncomplicated stuff.
So you just saved your household several hundred dollars, and that was not even needing to replace the entire toilet -- now running several hundred $ EACH these days.

"We Like to Flush the Toilets in This House, To Each His Own." Ha! You're sooo funny. I've taken the tanks apart before and I don't remember why. I think something broke in there, but I have a distinct recollection of doing that. Oh, we changed that wax ring, and I've adjusted the guts, I never unscrewed them and changed them. You know that plastic stick from the handle broke off before and that hook that holds the chain. Some different surprise Every Time! Yes, they last a long time, I bet you won't see the inside of that tank again for a good while or the huge plumber's wrench! Say good-bye Fluidmaster! Happy Flushing! ; ) You know there's one thing you did forget...the classic, you did this with all your modesty intact, nice high-waisted pants! Absolutely NO CRACK. Wonderful. Maybe it was the camera angles. Good Job. Ha! I will remember your video when I need to do this. 9 times out of 10, I fix those things too. At a minimum, I go buy the parts for repair. Girl-Power!

Hello, glad I found your channel and I subscribed. I had watched the official Fluidmaster complete kit repair video and found yours much better. I noticed with the official instructions that the top of the Overflow Pipe should be 1" below the Critical Level Mark on the Fill Valve and the Fill Valve hose should flow directly into the Overflow Pipe (as I understand it) Just thought I'd share. I have been working on my toilet for a week. You did it in less than half an hour, so I'm impressed, and thankful of your channel. I also had to fix the flange first, now that was a learning curve to be sure, and to pick the best method...

Have you ever changed a toilet or changed the wax ring, I have. The wax ring was invented by William H Harvey in my home town of Omaha, Ne.and there is plant there that produces them. They hold the patent so from what I understood no one else can make them, I once spent about 3 weeks working the line making them and packaging them. They have several stations along the line and every hour or so they have you shift to the next station, so everyone knows how to work all the stations. I was between jobs and working for a temp agency.

Sophia, great job! The toilet repairs, sink pipes, drains, etc, is dirty work but it’s nice to fix it yourself and save that cash for something else. I also work on our toilets, sink drains, etc, with my husband encouraging me to learn in case I need to know how one day. He says it never hurts to have a working knowledge of home repairs and building know how even if I never use it, at least i know what the repairman is SUPPOSED to be doing so I don’t get ripped off. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Have a great week! Be blessed. 😊
