This was incredibly helpful. I watched first to convince myself i could do it, and then I watched step by step while completing the project. I believe all previous parts were from 2002. I think everything was ready to break, and I'm glad to have replaced everything.
Kris- Thank you so much for this video. I had contacted a plumber to look at my toilet that was hissing and condensation was building up on the lid. He told me I needed a brand-new toilet for $1200, or he could re-build the one I had for $800. I could not afford either. I had asked for the least expensive solution- and this was his answer. So, I took to you tube and found your video. I went to Lowes, bought the $30 Kit (fill valve, flush valve, handle (which I didn't need), bolts, washers, TOOLS & the plastic packaging acted as a bucket!!) I followed your video ( & the instruction booklet that came with the kit) and with the help of my daughter WE replaced everything in the toilet and it's working great! We fixed it for $30 with your help!!!
Kris….THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I’m 73 and my husband is 80. Watching your video, we went step by step (starting and stopping the video), but we got ‘er done! And even knowing what to purchase was a huge help. First trip to Home Depot (pre-video) had me staring at so many different parts that I had no idea where to begin! I put off actually replacing the innards for 3 days after I bought the parts; however, the dread of tackling it was the hard part. But once we started…all good. Now wish I had done it 3 days earlier and had it off my plate.
That’s great to hear, Joyce! I’m glad the video got you both through the project and past the frustration of a broken toilet 🚽 Have a great 4th of July!
Thank you!! I have an old Mansfield toilet and didn't know it till I saw your video, mine is so old (date says 1986) that the Mansfield ink stamp in the tank disappeared. All I knew is that my flush valve and fill valve looked very different from the ones in other videos that I saw. Your videos on replacing the Mansfield tank apparatus are a godsend.
This video was so helpful! I am a widowed single mom and your easy to follow step-by-step directions were exactly what I needed to fix my master bathroom toilet! I felt so overwhelmed and lost when I realized it needed to be fixed and I didn’t want to spend the $ to hire a "handyman" for a job my late husband would normally do. Thank you so much!!
The instructions were spot on. Never done anything like this, followed it to the letter, toilet is working perfectly and no sign of any leaks. The only thing I can suggest to other users: when you get ready to loosen the tank-to-bowl bolts, have a container right underneath the first bolt; that excess water will seep out. Otherwise, this is everything you need to know.
Gotta love UA-cam. Just finished replacing the guts. The red valve seal was worn through and the top cap was broken off, I had taped it back about 6 months ago. When it started running on it's own because of the valve seal I knew it was time to change, but needed this video to get me through it. Thanks!!
Well I’m about to begin to install the new inners to this very old toilet. We’re talking 30 years old! I ordered a kit from a Mansfield supply and it is the exact pieces to completely replace all the parts. Cost about the same as if I had purchased each piece individually and it’s original Mansfield parts. I’m a little nervous but you explain things so clearly and precisely that I think this 68 year old woman can get the job done! Your video is the best one I have seen. Thank you!
Well I did it! While I was at it I removed the toilet too and cleaned it up with a new wax ring and scraped off that old one. I followed your instructions to rebuild the inside of the tank and that wasn’t too difficult to do seeing that your instructions were so clear. I did have a problem with a small leakage tank to bowl. I placed a paper towel beneath where the tank and toilet meet and flushed several times. While there was no actual dripping of water the paper was wet so I knew I had to fix that. I could only finger tight the bolts so much. With the Mansfield kit they use a plastic nut to secure the tank to the bowl. I had to buy a socket wrench to tighten the nuts. I am now paper towel dry and flushing away!! 🎉 It was a bit of work for me because I decided to remove the toilet too but as you said the key was to take your time and I saved more than $500. Thanks again!
I must have watched 10 other videos about toilet tank repairs but your video stood out as the best one, period . Thank you for helping all of us become better at the craft of home plumbing. Awesome 👍
Would not have been able to fix my toilet without this detailed guide. I did notice the toilet to bowl kit did not come with enough rubber gaskets or bolts
Thanks Kris for the detailed video, very nice job. I regret pointing this out but feel I must to help people better understand. This video shows a Mansfield #160 tank which uses a #211 flush valve and that is what Kris removed. The #211 valve provides a 1.6 gallon flush. The replacement valve shown is a #210 valve which is used on a different model of Mansfield tank that was used with older styles of toilet bowls that required more water to flush properly. It provides a 3.5 gallon flush. Take notice at the end of the video went the toilet is flushed the water level in the tank goes down to the near the bottom using all the water that’s in the tank which is a 3.5 gallon flush. With the correct #211 valve the water in the tank would go down about halfway which is a 1.6 gallon flush. The toilet bowl that’s matched with the #160 tank is designed to flush with 1.6 gallon so wasting 2 gallons per flush is not necessary. I have never seen a #211 valve in a hardware or big box store, seems like they have to be ordered online. I have two of these toilets and I have learned that only original Mansfield parts should be used because after market parts often fail prematurely particularly the red rubber flush valve seal rings.
Curtis, this is great information! Thank you for sharing this level of detail. I appreciate it and believe in sharing info to benefit all. I’m going to pin this to the top!
I didn’t mention it but I do use the Fluidmaster fill valve, it’s the best fill valve available. Fluidmaster recently came out with the 400H PerforMAX. It has an adjustable valve on it for the water that goes through the tube that fills the bowl so it can be set to where it puts the correct amount of water into the bowl without over filling it. When too must water fills into the bowl the additional water just overflows the trap and goes down the drain which is wasted water every flush. This is what the 400A does and all other fill valves that I have seen. I just replaced the popular 400A valves with this newer 400H on my two toilets. There’s a procedure to determine the correct water level in the bowl and mark it then make the adjustments on the fill valve until you get it just right. The only store around me that has this new #400H valve is that orange big box store.
Thank you for adding this extra information, Curtis...you're absolutely right. It is very important to get the correct replacement parts for the tank you have, and we always recommend using genuine Mansfield replacement parts to ensure proper performance and longevity after the repair. Our customer service team is always available to help diagnose problems, identify models, make recommendations and point people in the right direction (1-877-850-3060). Mansfield replacement parts are available through many online outlets, but also in-store at Menards and most True Value, ACE and Do-It-Best retailers near you. Well-done video, Kris!
Just fyi the red rubber ring fails even with original mansfield parts if you use bleach tablets in the tank. I'm testing some different ones to see if they will last longer with bleach tablets currently but it's still too early to know how long they will last.
Thanks so much for this video. I have an oooold Mansfield toilet that ran constantly. I wasn't sure where the leak was coming from and decided to just replace everything. I was a bit intimidated but your video made it very straightforward. I especially like that you included what to buy and recommended the tank to bowl kit. The gasket on mine was nearly unrecognizable and all of the washers on the bolts were rotted. I followed the video step by step and my toilet flushes perfectly. No leaks. Don't know what this would cost if I hired a plumber, but it cost me $35 and an hour of my time. Thanks again.
Thank you for this great tutorial! The plumber had given me an estimate of $290 to do this. I bought the parts for $35 (including a pack of gloves) and did it myself with your instructions. Your video was very clear and well done.
Oooh wish me luck. My Mansfield toilet started hissing last night, phantom flush I think, and I'm gonna try this myself. At least I'm gonna try just replacing the gasket before trying to change all the parts like this video.
Hi Kris, thank you for the great video. When our toilet stopped flushing I told my wife to call the landlord. I am working very long hours right now and knew I would have very minimal time to spend trying to get it fixed. She was persistent and said he makes it look so easy. So dreadfully, I said ok, knowing I would it up having to spend time I did not have working on this project when it could have been done for us. Other than having to cut the screws (they were rusted) and some very minimal tightening and loosening, my wife did everything. Low and behold she comes out saying that it flushes and there is no more leaking on the inside due to a bad flush valve. Two thumbs up, great vid, very easy to follow. Thank you.
I got lost when you put the washer and nuts on the tank. Then I saw a picture of the tank assembled and there were 2 sets of nuts to hold it. Makes more sense now. Thanks
This video was super-helpful! Replaced all the same parts just as he showed!! I needed 13mm wrenches/ratchets for mine, though-in case it’s helpful for someone else. I used the PerforMax 400H-002 Fluidmaster Fill Valve, Irwin Vise-Grips (Groovelock), Danco Tank to Bowl kit (for Mansfield Alto), and Keeney Flush Valve (for Mansfield #210). Got all parts/supplies from Lowe’s. Thank you for a great video!!😁👍
Thanks to Thomas Crapper for inventing the flushing tank and you for showing how to fix it. My toilet is probably close to 40 years old and I can't find a model number so may end up with a plumber anyway but your video was extremely informative and very well done.
Many Thanks! I have a mansfield toilet at home that had a flush valve leaking. I went ahead and replaced the fill, flush valve, and the tank-2-bowl based on your step by step instructions. Very clear and well presented.
One of the best DIY videos on this platform. I got tired of my toilet not filling after flushing, so I gutted the tank thanks to this video. Continued blessings...and what's gotten into the 81 thumbs down BOTS? Good job in 2020
Thank you for this video. I just completed the project and have never worked on a toilet before. Your video was organized, paced well and loved how you showed the front and back of the tank as you were working on it. Please do a video for clogged bathroom sinks!!! The one I have saved isn't that great. Who hoa!!! I am empowered now!!! As a solo female homeowner I rely on YT for all my help.
Thank you very much for your time in creating this video and sharing. Your video gives me encouragement to replace the rubber thick gasket which attaches to the tank bottom to serve as a base for the flush valve. Your video is very very useful. You have covered all important points and your videography is to the point and well focused. God bless you for helping others.
I can't thank you enough for this video. You have saved me so much grief in trying how to replace old and worn out parts inside the toilet and for bonus points I bought these exact parts so installation was easy. Again many thanks.
Thanks for the video. It really helped us out. I thought it was going to be painful, or that I'd have to put out hundreds more to have a repairman/plumber to come, but it wasn't bad at all. Took maybe 30-45 minutes for non-handypeople to get it done.
Kris, thanks a bunch for making this video and it was very helpful. My fill valve was loud and figured my 10 year old toilet needed to be rejuvenated. I received a rebuild kit from Mansfield but no instructions just the parts. The replacement was on spot with your video and got no leaks when finished🚽
Thank you, Kris! I'm poor in DIY work, I would say this is the first time I successfully completed the project with your video, Your video is very detail and step by step instructions - excellent job!
I'm a general employee at a liquor store. Bless the dudes Indian heart and his amazing family but they can't change a light bulb lmao your video made some extra cash and I learned a TON as a 33 year old man. Thank you for your time and knowledge 🙏 😌
Great video. Just what I needed to replace everything in my 22 year old Mansfield toilet. And they’re “channel locks” made by the Vise Grip company but we all knew what you meant. Thank you. Job well done. 👍
Thank you very much. I was searching desperately for Mansfield 160 gasket and couldn’t find it in any hardware store or even popular online shopping stores. I was reluctant to use the flush valve replacement for #208,209,210. But when I watched your awesome video I noticed that u used the product in your Mansfield 160 toilet. So, I used it successfully in my 160 toilet too.
Thank you Kris! I'm an I.T. guy that has a phobia related to plumbing (I.T. / Electronics and water just don't mix. LoL) great video I rebuilt 2 of the Mansfields in my house thanks to running and pausing your video! Interesting that I'm the original owner, purchased from the custom builder and all of the Mansfield toilets were installed with out the rubber washer/metal washer and nut on the underneath of the tank????? only the rubber washer, metal washer and nut coming up from toilet bowl flange was holding it all together. Thanks to your video I added the appropriate hardware to both. -DogTown
good deal! I’m also an IT guy! I just know a thing or two about fixing these kinds of things ;). I guess it’s the engineer part if my job that’s in me.
Excellent video! We have 3 Mansfield 160s (Drees Homes new construction) that are 8 years old and are getting hard to flush with the handles. One was getting really bad. I purchased a Mansfield Kit from Grigg Industries and they provided a Mansfield 08 Anti-siphon ball cock and Watersaver 211ULF flush valve. Slightly different than your parts but go in basically the same. No adjustments necessary. I took apart and installed per your video and it works! Never rebuilt a toilet before so I was a tad nervous. Only took 1.5 hours. Saved me a $150 plumber call. Bigly thank you!
You are "exceptional" demonstrating how to. Very detailed viewing showing "both sides" of tank and instrutional infomation. Thank you for your vid and "time" taken making it.
This was the greatest video!! Thank you so much for posting this! I have this exact brand of toilet in my home, and this video saved me literally hundreds of dollars in plumber fees. I was able to find the EXACT same parts at the hardware store and do it myself, and I really appreciate how detailed you were in the instruction ... I know "repair dummies" like me really appreciate it. Thanks again!
Thanks much for this video. Gutted out 16 yo Mansfield and replaced all parts. It's be trickle running for longer than I care to mention. Two issues: Not enough gloves, but a box of gloves has gone from 7.99 to 19.99, or more, because of Covid. Second, the plastic nut, for the valve, was seized. I had to cut that wawa to extract the valve. Most i.port: No injuries and limited cussing. I hate plumbing duty.
Nicely done. When I first opened my leaky toilet and saw Mansfield, I was a bit overwhelmed. Your video made the repair look simple enough. Off to the hardware store I go to get my parts!!
Thank you for this! I stopped at HD today and picked up both valves and they just so happened to both the exact ones you have. So that made me happy when I found this video. What I didn't get was the tank to bowl kit so I'm glad I watched this before I started as I was able to pick one up beforehand.
@@theXchange Even though this is not a complex chore, it still is a good idea to glance at the instructions to insure there are no major important changes or omissions. Then throw them away.
Thanks a lot!! I fixed my running toilet by replacing the fill valve, flush seal, and trip lever (after I broke it, LOL). Couldn't have done it by myself without your video!!
Thanks for the video. Very nice video, great lighting and information. I had never messed with a toilet until this evening. Mine was also a Mansfield with a flush valve and not the flap. My old parts were leaking and causing my water bill to be sky high. Thank you
Kris, thank you so much! I am COMPLETELY unhandy. This kind of thing is very intimidating to me, much more than I've ever done. But you made it so straight ahead and doable. Toilet is good to guy. Thanks again!
Thank you for the video. It was a huge help...took pictures of the items I needed and went to the hardware store...It was a successful job thanks to your detailed video. I would watch and then go complete a step and then on to the next step and so on.
.found this video today and replaced my 13 year old Mansfield 160 internal parts with the exact parts used here, bought at HD for $29 and it was perfect. thank you for a great resource to have here.
Wow .. !! What an Awesome AMAZING CLASS .. YOU EXPLAINED EVERYTHING. FROM WASHERS TO BOLTS . VERY CLEAR . AND VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND.. THANK YOU FOR AN EXCELLENT CLASS .. AGAIN . VERY DETAILED AND INFORMATIVE 👍👍👍👍👍
great video mr reese ... It's people like you and this video that can help homeowners save a lot of money by doing these actually somewhat simple things themselves it's good to not have to rely on someone to do everything
Thanks! It’s rewarding to know how much people have saved by watching a video and realizing they can do the repair themselves. I appreciate the comments!
This video was very useful. it is like going to Plumbing school. Thanks to your video, my husband could fixed the problem in one or our toilets. thanks again.
Thanks a ton, your video was so much more detailed then any other. I was able to accomplish this task with a trip to the local Lowes. Tools nothing you missed, just my being new to home ownership. Once back here, I finished in no time without a hitch!! Thanks again!!
This video helped me out, thank you. Was great to know what to expect before I got into it. I went with the Fluidmaster 400H PerforMax, big improvement over the old float ball style.
Great video, really helpful for me as a novice in this stuff. Replacing the guts on my fill tank which leaks into the bowl (gasket bad). I decided to replace all the guts since the fill valve is starting to have issues as well, looks pretty straight forward job, thanks!
You RLY have to add Mansfield to get the vertical valve videos. Searched a long time and couldn't wouldn't get that specific type in results. Thx a lot!
Fantastic video. I purchase the repair kit from Mansfield for 3 times the price because I wanted to make sure everything worked perfectly. The guts look identical so if I were to do it again I would go with the Everbuilt. The one thing I was not to impressed with in the Mansfield kit was the Smartconnect system for the 3 bolts which hold the tank to the toilet. It seems far more prone to leak. I think the original version bolts in the Everbuilt kit work better. Unfortunately I could not reuse my old ones as they were so rusted the nuts were a bitch to get off. Having your video walk me through it was very reassuring. Cheers.
Excellent video Kris. One of the best I've seen. I have a Mansfield toilet like yours with old valves that have started to leak. I checked my local Home Depo and they have all the parts I need. I'm going to attempt the repair tomorrow.
@@theXchange Hi Kris, the replacement went fine - no leaks first time! :-) The only hitch I ran into was that the circular lock nut threads were stuck to the old flush valve, so when I tried to loosen it the whole valve turned with it. I couldn't get a good enough grip on the valve to keep it from turning. I had to carefully hacksaw the inside of the flush valve and take it out in pieces with some pliers. The lock nut sustained minimal damage and was reusable. Thanks again for a great video. You saved me a lot of $$.
Thank you so so so so much for showing the world how to replace the broken parts of this toilet. I really really really appreciate it. Please keep on posting on how to do home repairs on your own. Thank you so much exclamation exclamation exclamation
I just want to add one more step; after you fill the tank for the first time, there is now extra weight on the tank seal which will compress the seal a bit. With the tank now full of water, the three tank nuts may need a wee bit of tightening to prevent leaks somewhere down the road once everything settles.
Curtis Roger McAlister, this is my exact situation where the store only had the #210 as a "universal" replacement. My old #210 had donut shaped styrofoam ring around the middle of the flush valve cylinder The new one caused a double-flush since it waited longer to drop down, letting too much tank water out. Solved that by preserving the old outer cylinder from the #211 and used it with the other parts of the new flush valve. Took me awhile to realize the little knob the top screws off to allow disassembly!
Due to the amount of positive comments received over the years relative to how my videos have given confidence to people to tackle this themselves and feel the gratification in saving a couple hundred bucks let alone the pride in fixing something for yourself, I’ve looked for ways to continue to do just that. It’s been nice to see videos like these in the early days of Covid, for example, help people in apartments who could not get a maintenance call fulfilled because the apartment complex suspended non-emergency repairs. It’s still hard to find the time to create videos, most of which are opportunistic. Beyond that, life is much the same! Same house, same toilet with the same innards used in this video! 😃
Hi Kris! Thanks so much for this tutorial. I’m not very handy but this really worked like charm. Saved a few hundred bucks. My part was only $11.00 and it took all of minutes including clean up!!! 😀😀
I usually don't leave comments, but you did such a nice job with this video Kris, that I wanted to thank you. You are a quality guy with a talent. I am surprised you don't have more subscribers.
THIS is why I love UA-cam. I was really anxious that your Mansfield toilet was indeed outdated technology and hard to find genuine parts, thinking the flushmaster wouldn't work. Viola! Up jumps your video onto my feed. Hmmmm...is UA-cam really tracking frustrated feelings now?
Good job, I have the same setup and have lost the seal on the flush valve, so now I know I need to pull the tank (D'oh!). BTW, if you look at 18:37 you'll see that you severely cross-threaded your fill tube nut. It's still providing at least the minimum pressure needed up on the rubber seat, so no leaks, but certainly not ideal as a large part of the torque you applied has gone into the thread jamming and not pressing on the seat. I despise those solid fill pipes, largely due to the fact that they tend to fight good alignment at the tank fitting, and make you more prone to a cross-thread. I use an over-length braided hose instead when I service one, and put a loop in it between the shut-off and the tank, so it has no tendency to lean to one side. They are a bargain at 10x the price after all of the floods I've had from failed solid line fittings.
Your observation of my having cross threaded the supply line to the fill is correct. I corrected it off camera where subsequent shots should show it’s on correctly. Thanks for the comment and the suggestion on the braided lines!!
This is exactly what I was looking for! I am going to try this tomorrow. Thanks for making this !!! I will reply when I finish and let you know how it goes
This was incredibly helpful. I watched first to convince myself i could do it, and then I watched step by step while completing the project. I believe all previous parts were from 2002. I think everything was ready to break, and I'm glad to have replaced everything.

You can install a new ballcock fill valve

I’m sorry for your loss! Your husband was smiling from above I’m sure as you were fixing it ;). I’m glad the video helped you get up and running!
Great video, thank you!
BTW one way I've found to get rid of the water left in the tank is with a turkey baster.

That’s correct in some cases. Most all-in-one kits come with two and ine may find themselves needing to buy an extra set of tank to bolt
Kris, This is just what I needed. I bought the parts but delayed in doing it. Your video encouraged me to dive in (no pun intended 🙂). Thanks.
Glad to hear that! Thank you for the comment!
I am so proud of myself! I just over hauled a Mansfield Toilet with the help of this video! A super big thanks!
Awesome!! 👏

+Shawn Channell That’s awesome! Glad it went well, and that the video helped.
Thank you for this great tutorial! The plumber had given me an estimate of $290 to do this. I bought the parts for $35 (including a pack of gloves) and did it myself with your instructions. Your video was very clear and well done.
Nice! I love hearing when money is saved!
Thank you.
That’s awesome! Thanks for the comment, and I’m glad you were able to get things back up and running!
I got lost when you put the washer and nuts on the tank. Then I saw a picture of the tank assembled and there were 2 sets of nuts to hold it. Makes more sense now. Thanks
Glad you got it sorted out!
Great! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks to Thomas Crapper for inventing the flushing tank and you for showing how to fix it. My toilet is probably close to 40 years old and I can't find a model number so may end up with a plumber anyway but your video was extremely informative and very well done.
Thank you!
huh. who knew that Thomas Crapper and I share the same birthday!!
@@theXchange Maybe that explains your choice of career? I share one with Arthur Conan Doyle but Sherlock Holes I'm not.
Many Thanks! I have a mansfield toilet at home that had a flush valve leaking. I went ahead and replaced the fill, flush valve, and the tank-2-bowl based on your step by step instructions. Very clear and well presented.
Awesome! I’m glad it was helpful and your project was a success! 👍🏻
One of the best DIY videos on this platform. I got tired of my toilet not filling after flushing, so I gutted the tank thanks to this video. Continued blessings...and what's gotten into the 81 thumbs down BOTS? Good job in 2020
Thank you!
Thank you, a very helpful video on replacing parts on my mansfield toilet
Thank you for this video. I just completed the project and have never worked on a toilet before. Your video was organized, paced well and loved how you showed the front and back of the tank as you were working on it. Please do a video for clogged bathroom sinks!!! The one I have saved isn't that great. Who hoa!!! I am empowered now!!! As a solo female homeowner I rely on YT for all my help.
Awesome! I’m glad it helped you out!
Thank you for the comment!!
I can't thank you enough for this video. You have saved me so much grief in trying how to replace old and worn out parts inside the toilet and for bonus points I bought these exact parts so installation was easy. Again many thanks.
Glad to hear it!
Thanks for the video. It really helped us out. I thought it was going to be painful, or that I'd have to put out hundreds more to have a repairman/plumber to come, but it wasn't bad at all. Took maybe 30-45 minutes for non-handypeople to get it done.
Thank you so much for your video! My husband and I were able to successfully fix a toilet that had been running for 20 years 😊
whoa!! Better late than never!! Your water 💦 bill thanks you ;)
Kris, thanks a bunch for making this video and it was very helpful. My fill valve was loud and figured my 10 year old toilet needed to be rejuvenated. I received a rebuild kit from Mansfield but no instructions just the parts. The replacement was on spot with your video and got no leaks when finished🚽
That’s great! Thanks for the comment!
Very good video, actually one of the better ones I've watched for this problem.👍👍👍
I didn’t know anything about doing this, you helped make it simple and pain free! Thank you sir!
you’re welcome!!
Great video! First time home owner here. I was able to fix my leaky toilet using your instructions. Thank a bunch!
Awesome! I’m glad the video helped you out!
Thank you, Kris! I'm poor in DIY work, I would say this is the first time I successfully completed the project with your video, Your video is very detail and step by step instructions - excellent job!
Thank you! I’m glad you were able to do it yourself
I'm a general employee at a liquor store. Bless the dudes Indian heart and his amazing family but they can't change a light bulb lmao your video made some extra cash and I learned a TON as a 33 year old man. Thank you for your time and knowledge 🙏 😌
you made something which was completely foreign to me very simple!! thanks, you are an excellent teacher!
Thank you! I’m glad it was helpful!!
Great video. Just what I needed to replace everything in my 22 year old Mansfield toilet. And they’re “channel locks” made by the Vise Grip company but we all knew what you meant. Thank you. Job well done. 👍
Thank you!
That’s great! I’m glad the video was able to help you out!
That’s awesome! I’m glad it all worked out for you!
Your instructions were very detailed. Just like a professional
Thank you!
You are "exceptional" demonstrating how to. Very detailed viewing showing "both sides" of tank and instrutional infomation. Thank you for your vid and "time" taken making it.
Thanks for the comment! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Amazingly detailed, easy to follow tutorial. Fixed two toilets with stuck flush valves
Awesome!!
I’m glad is was helpful!! Thanks for thr awesome comment!
A big thumbs to you... none video showed such trick and I am able repair all by myself. Thanks buddy.. God bless you!
Nice! I’m glad it helped!!
Oh wow , I just saved a plumbers visit. I just followed all your steps, I have no leaks. Thank you .
Nice!
Glad you got to it and knocked it out! Too bad on the gloves. That’s insane! Maybe Costco has a better deal.
Nicely done. When I first opened my leaky toilet and saw Mansfield, I was a bit overwhelmed. Your video made the repair look simple enough. Off to the hardware store I go to get my parts!!
Awesome! I’m glad the video is helpful!
Thank you for this! I stopped at HD today and picked up both valves and they just so happened to both the exact ones you have. So that made me happy when I found this video. What I didn't get was the tank to bowl kit so I'm glad I watched this before I started as I was able to pick one up beforehand.
great!
this step by step guide is just god sent
heh -- I'm glad you enjoyed the content. Thanks for watching!
Just used this video this weekend to change it my toilet parts. Didn't even use directions! Thanks!
Awesome! Glad to hear it
@@theXchange Even though this is not a complex chore, it still is a good idea to glance at the instructions to insure there are no major important changes or omissions. Then throw them away.
This video was perfect for my needs! I have the same toilet and I bought the same fill valve. Thank you for your excellent video.
You’re welcome!! Thanks for watching
Thanks a lot!! I fixed my running toilet by replacing the fill valve, flush seal, and trip lever (after I broke it, LOL). Couldn't have done it by myself without your video!!
+Elonda Blanchard That’s awesome! I’m glad it helped out!
Great Job. You explained things in a way that we understood clearly. I have no questions. That means you explained everything to the T. 2 thumbs up
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. Very nice video, great lighting and information. I had never messed with a toilet until this evening. Mine was also a Mansfield with a flush valve and not the flap. My old parts were leaking and causing my water bill to be sky high. Thank you
It’s amazing how much a leaky toilet can ramp up that water bill. Glad you were able to get it taken care of!
@@theXchange yes, you are correct.
thankyou for the great video followed it step by step fixed my problem replace flush & fill valves!! so far no leaks.
fantastic!!
Kris, thank you so much! I am COMPLETELY unhandy. This kind of thing is very intimidating to me, much more than I've ever done. But you made it so straight ahead and doable. Toilet is good to guy. Thanks again!
Awesome! Thanks for the comment, and nice going on tackling the project!!!
great video! excellent camera angles, lighting, and explanation! You made it look easy! thanks
Thank you for the video. It was a huge help...took pictures of the items I needed and went to the hardware store...It was a successful job thanks to your detailed video. I would watch and then go complete a step and then on to the next step and so on.
👌🏻
thanks a lot for guiding me in my forced weekend project!
Not a problem!! Have fun!
.found this video today and replaced my 13 year old Mansfield 160 internal parts with the exact parts used here, bought at HD for $29 and it was perfect. thank you for a great resource to have here.
Awesome. You’re welcome! Glad it was helpful!
Thanks. Good review for me since the valves last so long these days and have not changed one in years. Very well done.
Wow .. !! What an Awesome AMAZING CLASS ..
YOU EXPLAINED EVERYTHING.
FROM WASHERS TO BOLTS .
VERY CLEAR .
AND VERY EASY TO UNDERSTAND..
THANK YOU FOR AN EXCELLENT CLASS ..
AGAIN . VERY DETAILED AND INFORMATIVE 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
great video mr reese ...
Great video. Even a non-handy person like me was able to follow the excellent step by step instructions. Thanks very much.
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful!
This video was very useful. it is like going to Plumbing school. Thanks to your video, my husband could fixed the problem in one or our toilets. thanks again.
I’m glad it helped!
Thanks a ton, your video was so much more detailed then any other. I was able to accomplish this task with a trip to the local Lowes. Tools nothing you missed, just my being new to home ownership.
Once back here, I finished in no time without a hitch!! Thanks again!!
You’re welcome! I’m glad it was of help!
Kris, your video really helped me do this repair. You explained everything well, and there were no surprises, thank you for posting this!
You’re welcome! I’m glad it helped you out!
This video helped me out, thank you. Was great to know what to expect before I got into it.
I went with the Fluidmaster 400H PerforMax, big improvement over the old float ball style.
glad to heat it!
You rock! Your video had all the answers. My toilet is flushing again. Thanks.
yay! Glad you got it working again!
Thank you so much for this detailed video! Each step was throughly explained and the process was smooth!!!! I did it!!! I’m so excited!
Nice! Way to go! 💪
Great video, really helpful for me as a novice in this stuff. Replacing the guts on my fill tank which leaks into the bowl (gasket bad). I decided to replace all the guts since the fill valve is starting to have issues as well, looks pretty straight forward job, thanks!
sure thing! You’ll knock it out in no time!
@@theXchange Done!!!
Very helpful. I'm not the handiest when it comes to plumbing matters and this video was perfect for me.
+Dave Johnson glad it helped! I tried to show as much detail as possible, yet keep things moving along to make it easy!
+Phil Rosario Welcome!
Excellent video. Extremely helpful The comment section also added extra details. Thank you very much for this video. Well done.
Thank you!
Thank you so much! Saved us hundreds in getting a plumber! 🙏🏾
you’re welcome!
You RLY have to add Mansfield to get the vertical valve videos. Searched a long time and couldn't wouldn't get that specific type in results. Thx a lot!
Thank you for help specifically for Mansfield!
Thank you! This helped me do this exact job for my toilet perfectly. Saved me a lot of second guessing.
Good deal!!
Cheers.
Cheers! I agree on the bolts. The Mansfield kit doesn’t leave a whole lot of confidence when buttoning things up :D
Excellent video Kris. One of the best I've seen. I have a Mansfield toilet like yours with old valves that have started to leak. I checked my local Home Depo and they have all the parts I need. I'm going to attempt the repair tomorrow.
Thanks for the comment! You’ll knock it out in no time!
You saved me a lot of $$.
good deal! Yea, that can happen so you did the right thing!
Thank you so so so so much for showing the world how to replace the broken parts of this toilet. I really really really appreciate it. Please keep on posting on how to do home repairs on your own. Thank you so much exclamation exclamation exclamation
Thank you for the nice comment!
I just want to add one more step; after you fill the tank for the first time, there is now extra weight on the tank seal which will compress the seal a bit. With the tank now full of water, the three tank nuts may need a wee bit of tightening to prevent leaks somewhere down the road once everything settles.
thanks for sharing!
Took me awhile to realize the little knob the top screws off to allow disassembly!
correction: "my old 211"
Great video front start to finish. You explained everything very well.
Thanks! This helped me understand Mansfield’s toilets, now I can confidently repair a friend’s!
Great! Glad it is helpful!
Thank you for the vid. You have made my Saturday super easy today
Great! Glad it helped!
4 years ago you were dropping bangers with these fill valve videos. Has life changed since your success?
Can you rephrase your question? I’m not following? 😀 Maybe a typo?
sweet! Get yourself something nice for xmas with the money saved ;)
I usually don't leave comments, but you did such a nice job with this video Kris, that I wanted to thank you. You are a quality guy with a talent. I am surprised you don't have more subscribers.
Thanks! I appreciate the compliment!!
Thank you. I just needed the fill valve part. I could have done it with the instructions, but it sure is good to see the video. Thanks.
Glad to provide some validation ;)
Thanks Kris, awesome video. Used it just now to do the replacement.
Awesome! Merry Christmas!
Thanks for helping us fix our toilet.
you’re welcome!!
I'm rebuilding my Mansfield and I love to see what's going to be involved before I tear into it, thanks for the video!
Did this a couple days ago and it worked perfect ! 👌🏾
excellent!
I had to leave a comment, THANKS A LOT. This helped me like I was a pro. After spending last night trying to do it alone. This was all I needed
Awesome! I’m glad it was useful!
Really well done. Great tips and clear directions. Excellent!
Thank you!
This was EXACTLY the video I needed to see, them you very much!!!!
