Diy Hack: Install Carpet Treads On Hardwood Stairs With No Tools!

  • In this video, i show you how to install Carpet TREADS on hardwood stairs and we'll DIY this in less than Half a day. Without the need of a compressor and nail gun, we managed to lay carpet treads on our stairs. This is an incredibly quick project. One that is both functional and ascetically pleasing. The treads go down with just two strips of double sided carpet tape and leave no residue behind, should you need to pull them up at some point in the future. If you have slippery stairs, I would highly recommend adding carpet treads to your stairs.

    the fall was hilarious. Thank you so much for the information!
    quick question: Would this be possible to do with carpet that you cut vs the pre-cut/ pre-made carpet tread you had? I have some stairs that aren't a conventional shape so I'm looking into maybe getting some carpet and cutting it myself.

    • @ReadySetBuildIt
      @ReadySetBuildIt  Місяць тому

      Thanks so much. It should work as long as the underside of the carpet is a material the tape will stick too. Also I would be concerned about the look of the edges on cut carpet as the treads have a sewn edge on them.

      You may want to test coming down your stairs. That’s where most of the slip hazards are. I would cheat to the bull nose if it were me. If you walk down and you feel there is adequate tread under your foot, leave it, but if not, adjust and press on. Good luck
