Transform Your Old Furniture: 3 Stains for a Perfect Match!
I set out to just add a new back to an old mirror. In the process, I found the perfect opportunity to improve skill. Stain matching. I used three stains to achieve what I consider the perfect match.

Transforming Your Vinyl Shutters With This Simple Painting Hack!!!
I don't have wooden steps but I have carpeted tan steps that look kinda beat and was wondering if these would work. I think they would look nice but may be impractical I hope not cause I want them
I use option "1" simply because I don't have a jointer, also because at this point, I can't afford one. The jig I use is the one you use in option 1. I may have made the jig from your channel some time back. It seems to do the job. Have a good one!
I can’t get the screws back in!
why did you grab the cut off strips win the saw was still running and a stand or something to hold up your cut off parts stay safe
That wood would've made two boards for me lol.
To each their own. I prefer a thicker heavier cutting board
Well that’s pretty cool!
Thanks
is that a uconn nation shirt?!?!
Good video. Where you disconnected the entire set up - that location does not have a clip for me. Its more flush on all sides and I cannot disconnect the set up. Any idea?
How is your lower half connected to the top half. Is there no connection of wires at all? Wire nuts?
@@ReadySetBuildIt they were connected - But I think the male-female ends were really like 'push' mechanism. So, they were stuck really hard. I went to get my pliers to pry them out and the whole set up was hanging for a few minutes. All of a sudden it came crashing down and shattered the glass cover of the lights into at least a couple of thousand pieces. So, it needed a hard pull (didn't have a clipping mechanism) but by the time I realized it, the whole thing came crashing down - well, lesson learned I suppose. Thanks for your response!
Now, I need to get that replacement part and re-wire the whole thing.
@@shantanudas wow. That’s some sequence of events.
On your “woah” 🎉 great job man
But what the jig does is extend and replicate the straight edge of the fence. Why not just use that?
That’s not exactly true. While you can replicate a “straight” edge, this jig also allows you to create a straight edge where one doesn’t exist. The toggles allow you to play a board exactly how you need to, to achieve your desired edge. I’ve put live edges against the jig to rip a straight edge on the adjacent side
@@ReadySetBuildIt I look forward to giving it a try. As a newbie to this, I’m looking to learn. Thanks
@@d-not_telling that’s what this is all about. Myself included. Happy building!
Great video. I was prepared to replace mine, but luckily I was able to add a pull chain extender to the broken part. Might work for others if they can grab the end left in the switch. Worked for me..but I might have to follow your video in full, if it doesn't hold.
That’s interesting. I didn’t know that was an option. Thanks for adding value. I appreciate you.
Well done! Excellent video. Approximately how many square feet did you two seal, and how many total hours do you estimate it required to finish? Thank you! David
I’m sorry David. I wish I could remember, but what I can say is it took approximately 10-12 hours of labor. I’m including running back to the store to get more sealer.
Marvelous video. Very helpful and fun to watch. Thank you for serving our country.
Thanks so much. And thank you for your support.
Thanks for the tip on the off cuts. I tired to make one of these a few months back and managed to not have the glue hold at all using tape.
Yeah once you learn it, you’ll never throw away an off cut until after a projects is complete
Thank you
I appreciate you Mark
Nice video Thank you
I appreciate that. Thanks
Looks better then that blue
Thanks. We hated the blue. The front door was blue too. Every room inside the house was a different shade of blue when we bought it. Previous owners had a blue thing I guess.
Thanks for the video!
I appreciate you
I replaced the pull chain switch connection same as old one, with a 4position, dual cap. I only get off/ & fast & medium speed.
Hmm. Weird. I suggest retracing your steps and insure the wires are connected correctly.
That's interesting. I don't know much of paint but you went from a very dark color to light. Video shows a light color. Just wondering why you decided to do that color combination?
Honestly, it was just blending colors I had on hand to chief a black and brownish color stain to match the mirror frame. Not really a science, but experimenting
I got a better idea. Who gives a fuck
Apparently you. Thanks for the engagement.

Send me your planer. I'd be happy to take it out of the box.
Once you send me 20” planer, I’ll gladly let this one go.
great vid - props to your dad for helpin out! he got style
Thanks. He’s the man!
First time I’ve seen your content, you’ve got a great presentation style, nice, calm & relaxed. You’ve also just gained a new sub ✊
Thank you. I appreciate your kind words and the sub.
You’re welcome fella✊
If anyone’s wondering how many bags of concrete it takes to fill a 2 foot hole. I’m here to tell you you’re not asking enough questions.
No I’m curious. What should they be asking?
@@ReadySetBuildIt a two foot hole could be 8 feet deep.
Not if 2 feet is the depth
Glad to see im not the only one doing house work in my crocs lol
lol. Comfort is step one
Some guys will just let the ground moisture do the work by itself but I prefer this method ❤
Wow, I really like this book stand~! I've been scrubbing thru videos looking for one to build for my daughter in hopes of finding something different...well, this was it. The Mahogany does look great, so I'll grab some when I'm at my wood supplier. I think maybe I'll build a couple, one with lighter Maple splines and one with darker Walnut ones, then my daughter can pick her favorite. ( I have a bunch of Walnut in my shop.) As for your explanation for favoring audio books, I'm in the same boat. I call myself a "terrible reader" because I really need a book to grab me to make it past the first couple of chapters and I've found few authors that do that, therefore I don't read much at all. I recently listened to my first audio book ("We Were Soldiers...") and it gave me the same feeling that you described. Seeing this video, I thought it was the first I'd seen from your channel, but I saw that I watched your wedding arch when scrolling thru your content. I built one last year for my son & new daughter-in-law after drawing from the builds of several others. Either way, I really liked your presentation style and I'm a new subscriber. Very interested to see what you do next~! Cheers~!
Thanks Andrew. The mahogany was a happy pivot and I think all the combinations you described will also look great. Reading is important, but I’m convinced it’s not the only way to consume content. I actually spend more time listening to books during my commutes than music. Thanks for giving my videos a shot and thanks for subscribing.
Very good 😂
🤣
It’s 1 if the hole isn’t too wide. 2 if you really don’t want a hurricane or small tornado to rip it out the ground 😂

Thanks Drew….I am a senior woman and I am going to tackle this thanks to your help

All them muscles use a damn shovel don’t even take that long
You sound real jealous. 😂
It’s called efficiency my guy
Why? Lol
Even if the poles are treated you should try making the bases out of metal with a mount for the poles that way the poles can be changed out after time tears them up and the bases stay sturdy and reusable if you ever wanna dig them out and move them.
I’m not worried about it. It will be there as long as it can.
@@ReadySetBuildIt fair enough.
New subscriber here!!! I love your videos. I plan on making one of these for my church events and giving it to the church. I love your detailed videos and they encourage me to do more projects!! Thanks a lot!!!
I appreciate you. Thanks for watching. I don’t want to assume you saw my second attempt, but I do have another video where I perfected the arch. Thanks again for the kind words.

I find that swearing helps.
Definitely lol
When I saw the thumbnail I thought someone was stealing a tablesaw but as it turned out it was yours and this is a good idea.
Now that you mention it, it does look a bit nefarious lol
@@ReadySetBuildIt I went with the single level board at four feelt long and eleven inches wide. I routered many slots and 3d designed and printed bases for those same clamps. My clamps have a longer reach but the same otherwise so I can move all of the clamps around the board. I notice when you put the 2x4 in the sled it looked like your clamps may not have been able to be adjusted to accept them.
I check my lumbers bow before I buy
I think everyone does. That doesn’t means it won’t bow after it gets home
Routers are so useful... Hundreds of things made easier or possible just having one
I agree 1000%
and what made those stencils lol
Not my bank account so…
@@ReadySetBuildIt who said anything about bank accounts, i just mean those came from a CNC most likely
I thought Usman took up a hobby
Made mine slightly different. I routed a slot top and bottom so I can slide my toggle clamps forward for adjustment. My piece is probably a quarter of your length. Don t need that length.
I like it
This video was perfect . I didn't know the part was available on Amazon like 2 for $7.00 best yet took me 15 minutes total to replace. Thanks Again
Of course. I’m glad it helped and you were able to repair your fan
