This is what youtube is supposed to be about. You know how to do something that may be of benefit to others who are looking for solutions and you share it. Great job my man.👊👊👊👍👍👍
Thank you for your video, I'm a handyman, but haven't dabbled much with carpet. Did carpet tops on my stairs and this helped wonderfully. Made my work easy. Thanks again!
Thank you for making this and the shorter video that has what size to cut the carpet. I just did this for 14 stairs. Took me two days, and maybe an hour per stair with padding, measurements, etc. I'm not a pro, so I ended-up putting a 9 staples through the top of each carpet piece to ensure it's secure. Last thing I want is the carpet slipping loose while carrying something heavy upstairs.
I just pulled up carpet steps planning for hardwood, but decided to re-carpet and your tread only method looks awesome! But my existing wood treads are not flush with the side trim, there is almost 1/2" gap on both sides. Old thick carpet was just tucked down in there. Can I just overhang the tack strip a bit to close that gap a little?
Hi Keith, looking at tackling similar on my stairs. How would you recommend cutting the carpet to size would you use a template of some sort or just cut roughly the right size and trim to suit?
shows the skill when you're working with a patterned carpet. That pattern would be too easy to trigger my OCD. If the pattern wasn't perfectly symmetrical to the stairs I would be there all day trying to fix it.

Rough to size👍
Where can I buy this carpet? Your website only shows the runners.
Hey traves I sent you an email
Would love to know where you got this carpet as well! This is exactly what my mother has been looking for.
So you still sell these? I don’t see them on your site.
New ones are rolling out very soon / these are currently discontinued

Hi Keith the tack strips - do I leave a small space between the strips and risers and sides or do I butt the strip directly on the wood sides? Thanks
Leave 1/4 inch
