I'm surprised this look isn't trending more.
Me 2
Love the geometric pattern on the carpet and the way you laid it was just quality. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
I really like the carpet color/pattern
Glad to see more videos from you. True professional.
Thanks😀😀😀
Keith! I love what you have done here. It’s so modern and trendy. Wish I’d seen this before ordering.
What did you order?
I have some bare stairs currently since I pulled out the carpet.
This would be fabulous on them!
Go for it
Super, super!!!! ❤️
🙏 thanks
Looks amazing...
Thanks
Looks very nice. Good job!
Thanks John
Really great video. Thanks
Thanks Norman!🤙
Love the look of this. I want to do the same to my stairs. Just trying to figure out the right carpet to use. I don’t have one of those knee kick things though.
Hi, I’m in the Uk and absolutely love this carpet 😍 I don’t suppose you know what it is called? Fab video too don’t suppose you fancy flying over to fit it for me 😅
It’s from Anderson Tuftex we have it in stock! We can ship to you if you like! And have a local fit for you! And if I happen to be in the area I’d be glad to stop in an fit it! For you!😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
@@KeithShannonDirectCarpet aww thank you so kind, I don’t expect you to fly to England lol. How long would shipping take? 🙂
@@KeithShannonDirectCarpet Hey Keith! What color is that carpet? Trying to track down that carpet for my steps.
Do I need to put the tack strips on left and right sides? Or can I just put one strip like you have in this video?
Hi. This looks beautiful . Did you put vinyl planks on the upper part of the steps ? 👍
Yes
Hi, great video!! Any suggestions on where to get carpet from or what kind you used?
Most of the carpet in the videos is available at www.directcarpet.com
Keith, what was the purpose of the first step from 0:18 - 0:34?
Can I skip this step if I am installing on hardwood?
Are you talking about the tack strip?
Thanks for the videos. Do you have videos or suggestions about installing a stair runner when there’s trim/molding under the bull nose of the tread? It doesn’t seem to fit as nicely or easily but I don’t want to/cant remove the molding.
Half of my videos installing runners are with trim underneath / it’s not the perfect finish but do-able / put the gun in a 45 degree angle into the moulding / as long as it’s conclaves in or v-grooved you’re all set! Good luck
Looks great! When cutting I see you cut the width exact, but how much extra in length for front and back of tread?
1 inch
@@KeithShannonDirectCarpet Thank you!
Were the LVP risers installed with a slight gap underneath the bullnose to "tuck" the carpet? Or were they installed flush with the riser ?
There was no gap / but a gap would have been nice!
Have you ever had an issue with stapling to the hard laminate? I think my gun was too cheap because I had zero success.
Most guns or staples won’t get through tough vynal or laminate always do a test first
HI i like your video, very good job. I wonder how did you install the panels, did you use glue or different way ?
It was glued on
How come there's no tack strips on the short ends of the stairs? Won't it stay on better rather than just one lengthwise?
Depends on the carpet
The stairs in my townhouse are carpeted. Like to carpet treads only too.
My stairs don't have nose , just cut AlMOST flush. What to do??
Add a nosing such as a piece of wood with pl premium and some great nails or screws let dry and you should be good to go/ check out some vids and see how to do that I’m sure there are a few😀 good luck
Should you fit wood to the risers first? Is 12mm laminate flooring going to be too thick for my stairs to allow me to carpet the treads? I think the nose is just shy of 2cm
Try it out as far as the size is concerned and the laminate was put down first😀
I have a commercial rug now on it must I remove it or can I use it as cushion and just cut the rug to show where the all grey area u have..
If you purchase a stair runner from directcarpet.com we supply the pad / if your purchasing elsewhere yes you can use the old rug as a cushion
how much gap do you leave between gripper and riser please ?
Tight no more than 1/4 inch / it’s a pressure fit really
Hi, I am currently putting in the laminate on the back step. But it only leaves me with half a centimeter lip. Will this be enough to tuck the carpet on to the step as the carpet fitters are saying to install the carpet first? I then thought of leaving a gap for where the carpet could go underneath the laminated floor. I’m just not sure what the correct way is.
You need a 1 inch lip at least /
Just after you did the knee kicking you show one staple being shot into the right corner. Do you continue down the line with more staples? They go into the tack strip underneath? Also it appears that the right and left short edges must be carefully cut since there is no tucking or other dress-up can be done with these.
I do occasionally pop a holding staple here or there if the carpet is not hooking to the smoothedge! That being said it is a feltback carpet and does not hook great to the pins!!
I do not continue down the line only where necessary! To many will show indentations! And yes they go into the tack strip!there is no room for mistake in these! And no place to hide!
@@KeithShannonDirectCarpet Thanks Keith. I did my first step yesterday, 12 to go! It looks good. No staples down the tack strip. Hopefully it will hold. And hopefully I'll round the learning curve and get a little quicker.
Congrats!
Got my stairs done. Looks really good! Wish I could post a picture. Thanks for the inspiration and tutorial.
what size staple are you using?
9/16
What carpet is this? Brand/Pattern/Color Scheme?
This is scout Oxford
Where did you get your electric gun from?
