    Great video thankyou. Do you tack the riser at the bottom on every step? That's all I didnt see. Fab job!!

    Nice effort but this video does not show how to stretch the carpet onto the step. Stretching is vital to prevent rippling and buckles.

    underlay should go gripper to gripper as per standards of fitting, issue is heel and toe you will get over time causing a hole on riser.

    • @MrStukov
      @MrStukov  3 роки тому

      Thanks that makes sense, but I am frankly don't understand how underlayment on risers help to protect carpet on it from wearing.

      + top step too short

    • @MrStukov
      @MrStukov  3 роки тому

      Thank fo noticing that. I put temporary carpet piece on the top step because tile flooring on this level will be replaced to a new one. Then this top step will be updated with bigger piece of carpet.

    who taught you how to do stairs? You have the bottom to top correct...but tack against the riser is ok but not necessary on the side of stairs...you can even get away with nailing the seam or crease from riser to footing by stapling as well to avoid a heel getting caught on a tack....but you never put them on the sides....it looks good and the side cuts for the bottom step...theres a better way and looks much nicer.....over cut carpet longer than end of step....fold into tip of carpet at angle and cut...then wrap and trim

    Were you using staples to attach the carpet or nails?

      @@MrStukov thanks! Last one, do you think I can get away with using an electric nail gun or I really need to use one that has a compressor?

      Could you clarify your question? Carpet that I used in my project. Sells in rolls that 10’ wide so a I got length that enough to cover my stair.

      @@MrStukov thank you very much for the quick reply !
      I live in the U.K. and usually carpets are sold 4m or 5m width wise and then you usually pick the length needed in meters also. But thank you for the reply for your carpet dimensions our stairs seem to be similar in size but will measure my stairs for sure .

    • @MrStukov
      @MrStukov  3 роки тому +2

      I am updated description of video with the names of the tools and links to places where you can get them. To make project cheaper you can substitute some ot them. For example I am used miter saw to cut tack strips, but it's possible to cut them using basic hand saw.

      Or use strip cutters that only cost 45.00 ....plus using an air compressor and pneumatic staple gun is sooooo over kill... a good duofast electric staple gun is faster better and the correct tool
