- The GoTrax G6 Electric Scooter is designed for commuters. It sports 10" tires, front suspension, a 48V battery, dual brakes, 20MPH Max Speed, and is only $649.
I take a ride to Times Square to test out the scooter's performance and functionality. While the specifications and design looked great, I may have received a defective scooter as the front light failed to turn on and the unit overheated with an E9 error right before making it to my destination.

This was an exciting and scary ride. I was on the edge of my seat. Too bad it started to overheat. I could not believe how reckless some of the other drivers were. Stay safe AK
Some very skilful driving, especially on the bridge and in Times Square! You seemed very comfortable and proficient with this scooter. It was a shame it overheated. I was impressed at how you navigated your way so quickly and safely, despite the inconsiderate other road users you encountered.
I can see why AK uses that 59th street bridge since it is directly across from Queens - Astoria , but I would not want use that route on a bike or scooter !

Woohoo, another e-scooter review! 🛴 The scooter looks sturdy and the motor is quiet. I'm just surprised they sent you a defective one for review, and I thought they would have done some QC inspections before doing so. The ride through Queensboro Bridge and Times Square was nerve wracking, and so many mopeds rode through that narrow bike and pedestrian path! Thank you for sharing your honest review, AK! 🤗

My pleasure, it's challenging to ride in NYC and a complete disappointment that this scooter overheated so easily. I hope not all of the G6 scooters aren't like this.
Thanks for the complete review. On a similar note I have a Tesgo e-bike and it has a frustrating problem in that if you tap the back wire with your boot or shoe accidentally while riding it will give you error 25 which means wire disconnected! Oh it was so frustrating at first when I had to check all the wires when I was far from home, sometimes 10-15 minutes trying to wiggle them all so they would reconnect 😑😮💨 (a couple times I had to call Ch to calm me down 🤗)

Enjoyable e-scooter🛴ride despite the overheating , so narrow lanes on that bridge 20:07 ,suspension seems to handle potholes and other possible bumbs quite well so therefore😎Thank you for sharing this enjoyable and relaxing scooter ride A K🙂👍!!!

Thank you for the in depth review. Can you update us on what the company said about it? and in this case would they send a new one to you? I've never owned a scooter and I was looking to buy the G6.
Whether the mode of travel is plane boat commuter train subway bus car bike scooter or walking , and I have seen them all . AK is always on the go for us armchair travelers !

It's the error code for over temperature according to their website.

Love my E-Scooter, because of the tubeless 11-inch tires, wide handlebars, and pneumatic brakes on both wheels. Second year now.
About 2000 bucks, have to install new brake pads one times a year (5 bucks total included shipping from China), fast and easy swap.
Forgot ....... motors on both wheels, when I choose it. No problems with steep rise, not at all. 86 fahrenheit, no problem.

At 8:08 that looks similar to the place where on a previous AK scooter vid where the lady walking her small doggie tripped and fell on the street and delivery man offered her assistance .
Nice video! By this point you must have a stockpile of EV scooters with all these review units though a pain that this one broke down. I always love how you can cross most of the bridges in NYC on foot, scooter or bike.

I doubt that many of the current reviews on the GoTrax web site are based on a workout as extensive as yours. I wonder whether GoTrax would publish your comment about overheating if you filed a review to their web site. NYFD seems to be quenching a fair number of lithium-ion fires these days. But I noted nothing about the type of battery in the scooter's manual, so I assume it's lithium.

The G4 with very few hours on it maybe 30 miles if that and it’s been great

It is very rare to see an e-scooter in the UK as it is illegal to use them on public road and pavements. They are classed as powered transport falling under the same rules as all motor vehicles.

What a mess crossing this bridge, until the city hall organizes this, it will be a headache for you.

Wow I would not like to drive a scooter . or bike in NYC Crazy busy . and very aggressive ..The model you purchase depends a lot on terrain .Some scooters and e bike are much better for Flat but not as good for hills....I am looking for a quality scooter in this price points .. tone to take on the Brightline ..GoTex G6 looks like a possible option ...You can get some serious injuries falling off a bike or a scooter. I fracture my femur in a bike accident when I landed on the sidewalk and not even going fast .
