I actually sold my Solar P1 2.0 for a Vsett 10+ because I wanted an independent front suspension fork, much larger aftermarket, and 60V. The FF series of scooters seem way better of a build that's more modern, this EQ does look way better than the P1 though. Solar's customer service is really great, I had regen braking on max and it caused my controller to burn out, they sent me a new controller and motor completely free with fast shipping.
Great to hear your feedback. I feel like most of the time on the internet, we miss out on accounts from happy riders because they are busy enjoying their scooters! -Paul
Don’t know why but….
I LOVE THIS SCOOTER CHANNEL!!..
I always watch too-
Thank you so much! -Paul
As an owner of two weeks. Let me tell you that this thing is DURABLE. I AM SO destructive with this thing!!!! Off road on ROCKS(not just gravel), Jumps, puddles, etc it handles like a champ. Also it gets up and goes SO FAST. And people freak out when they see it. I get so much attention that now it’s annoying.
I break everything I own. I have a weird enjoyment of breaking vehicles and testing their limits. This thing hasn’t let me down and I’m telling you, I am destructive.
That’s awesome! Glad to hear it. -Vosk
I thought mine was lackluster on gravel. Extremely bumpy. But drives great on grass and concrete imo
Have you had issues with the handlebars lossening frequently? If so, how to fix?
@shanew7361 If I were to spend anymore, I'd personally go with the Apollo phantom. It just seems updated and more solid than any solar. I was going to get the phantom but couldn't justify the $800 ish more compared to the eq

Fantastic review guys! Thank you 🙏 have a great week! ⚡️
Hey, my vids on my ultra tiny channel caught a neighbours eye, he just bought the EQ after watching my Solar P1 rides. Commission, 1 Solar sticker, be nice. Loving the P1 and my neighbour loves his brand spanking EQ. Solar is taking over Leeds.
Thank you! Looking forward to the next Solar scooter review! -Paul

I wish there was a chain of e-scooter brick and mortar stores that carried a lineup of hyper scooters like this. There are so many companies and models to choose from anymore.
There will be we are sure of that!
Not a chain, but we have a store here called Sonic Scooters that sells performance/hyper scooters. I haven't been there myself yet, but I'm planning to in the next week. They sell scooters as well as do maintenance and upgrades.
I have the Solar P1 Pro USA version; dual 2000w motors and top speed up to 50 MPH. The thing is a beast for the the price!
How much?
I need something that does nothing less than 40, want something that does no less than 50😆
Thanks for letting us know. I've been curious about that one! -Paul

Ordered mine a few days ago used your old code and got 10% off. EQ is going to be my first dual motor scooter. I can’t wait to burn some rubber. The green does look slick and it’s what I ordered.

Quick question Paul. I thought I heard you mentioned the EQ had hydraulic brakes but in their site it says mechanical. Is that correct?
was it a easy transaction?
@@amauryadams402yes you just browse to their website and add the features you want. Thanks lots paul
Thanks Paul! The Solar is a very compelling scooter. It is great to see so many great options.
Thanks so much for your support, as always! -Paul
Thanks for your review of the EQ. After watching, as well as researching other Solar models and several other companies' models from your and other you tube channels; I purchased two EQs, one for my wife and I as our first scooters. Having now logged about 30 miles on each scooter, I have found the EQs very fun and stable to ride and I am very happy with the purchase. There were a few things in set-up that you have to adjust properly, but overall no issues and having a blast. The scooters look and feel well-made and if they are as dependable as they look over the long haul, I see many years of enjoyment. That said, I don't ride over 20 mph, usually slower so not putting them through a rodeo. I am ~235# and ride in an area with hills and gravel roads and the EQ has no problems carrying me. On the set-up, definitely need to loosen and adjust the throttle and brake levers into a comfortable position. Also, Solar has now added a secondary latch mechanism on the handlebar stem that is not very robust. In my opinion it is unnecessary as I just put some blue Locktite on the clamp bolt (also on the handlebars) and have had not had any issues with the bolt loosening. I have used blue Locktite on boats and trailers all over Alaska and never had an issue so I am confident it will work for this application. Having ridden the EQ now, I thought your review was spot on and would recommend it to anyone. Thanks.
Awesome enjoy your rides!

I NEED THIS I WANT THIS WHAT A FABULOUS SCOOTER
Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you're able to get one! -Paul
I think this scooters top speed is pretty much the ideal that all scooters should aim for. Most riders that I've seen seem to cruise around 25-35mph. Anything faster than that leaves you wondering whether your life insurance policy is up-to-date, or whether you remembered not to include your ex in your will. Having 5-6mph above 35mph is great since scooters tend to lose some of their top speed as the battery declines though, so this allows you to continue the fun for a much longer time.
Very insightful! Thanks for sharing. -Vosk
I agree with this comment once you get to the 23 range that’s when it starts to feel pretty breezy. if I’m trying to save battery, I will stay on 23 which is the perfect speed. I found for myself where doesn’t feel too slow but it feels still speedy know if I’m in a rush I just want to have a crazy time then I’ll pump that baby to 37 mph.
can we also agree that the perfect weight for a scooter is 65 pounds or under even better. I found that having a scooter not too heavy to matters just as much and you can realistically we carry 65 pounds if you train your body enough but 100 pounds it’s just like way too much. Another thing with heavy scooters is you tend to injure yourself by just carrying the scooter itself because it’s so heavy. I hope for the future that we can get a scooter with the specs, but have to weight.
@@gatesroyaleit really depends on the rider type as far as weight goes. I use my scooter as a replacement for a 2nd vehicle, so the weight doesn't bother me since I don't lug it around, and I don't use public transport. I ride it everywhere. For last mile commuters absolutely weight matters.
U are the man bro 😎
11:15 Haha!! Dude, that was so smooth! LOL... I watch that about 6 times.
Been waiting on this vid for a minute and just got my EQ a few days ago and am fairly impressed. Glad you guys did a review and it was amazing.😊

how long did it take to get to you? and is the website legit?
@@shanew7361 I think it only comes with on-road but it’s a bit of off road and on-road. My fender just fell today so that might be the only issue for now but I’m riding it pretty extreme so that could also be why. But overall has raw power like they said and is fast and I would recommend you get it for the price and what it comes with and overall build quality.
@@amauryadams402 the website is legit and it took like 5-6 days.
@@shanew7361 I think that was a mistake by ESG but mine did not come with hydraulic brakes. I’m getting roughly the range they said but it also depends on many other things. I would say consistently 23-25 miles riding pretty aggressively.

Good choice!
I love my Solar P1 2.0, no sinewave controller but much fun. £965

@@bakunawa534 wish I could afford to but I like the P1 stock also. You are right though.
@ 7:00. Wow, thanks for that info. I was wondering if running one motor increases the range. I'll start using both motors. Thanks!
Thank you for the fix for the creaky handle bars! Got my EQ about a month ago and love it. Had some squeaking from rear suspension that I resolved but the squeaky handle bars was irritating. Gonna go take care of that. Now if I can just get the brakes to stop squealing under heavy braking!
How did you resolve the suspension squeak?
@@Zman0210 - Sprayed a bit of lubricant into the pivot points. I found the best way to do it was to lay scooter on side and spray it onto top of each pivot point. The move to other side and repeat then ride a bit to help work it in.
Sounds good I have some lithium grease spray thanks.
Glad to help! Stay Safe. -Vosk
@@shanew7361 - The EQ comes standard with hydraulic brakes and suspension. It also has tubeless 10” tires. They are not easy to change. Solar actually recommends taking them to a tire shop to be changed. I got the puncture prevention installed to help stop a flat.
I’ve had the EQ about a month and out about 35 miles on so far. I love it. It’s not fast compared to scooters that do 50+ mph but I didn’t want that. I wanted a portable scooter that was well built and had enough power for me (6’3” and 270 lbs) to go up hills easily. It does that really well. And it’s plenty fast for me as it easily hits 30 mph without full throttle. That’s fast enough for me.
The only issues I’ve had were the squeaky rear suspension and handle bars. Both were easily resolved with some spray lubricant. I have a few nitpick things I’d change (I don’t like the trigger style throttle, headlight is not very bright, display is hard to read in direct sunlight, etc) but they aren’t huge issues. I think this is one of the best scooters for the price if you are looking for portability and ability to handle bigger people.
Word of caution for you. If this is your first scooter you will want to try it in single motor and don’t increase the launch mode. The EQ will take off pretty strong and it takes some experience to handle. Once you get used to the scooter, turn it up and have a blast.
Yoooooo! That’s sick though
It sure is! -Vosk

Kugoo G3 Pro is another dual motor, $1500 scooter that does ~40mph. Has similar specs, except removable/upgradeable battery. I wish other vendors would go with a removable battery.
Kugoo has tubed tires (although split rim, so swaps are easier), would rather tubeless as the Solar has. The throttle is another weak point on the G3 Pro, looks like the Solar has it beat there as well.
I do like the folding handlebars-- seems very useful for fitting in a car. The ability to put a damper on it would be nice (on the Kugoo you can use use the Roadrunner Rs5 damper-- similar scooter with a few higher end parts).
I would like to see a dedicated regen brake control on these scooters, have one on my Surron and use it 90% of the time.
That's interesting about regen on the Surron. I was just thinking about how useful dedicated regen would be for e-motos, since it's going to be rear wheel only. Glad to hear it's so useful. Do you think the G3 does a legit 40mph? -Paul

Bought 1 about 6 weeks ago. It's really good. The steering tends to get offset though and needs frequent readjustment (wheel isn't pointing straight when the bars are straight across). Also the power cable was disconnected during shipping and it took some troubleshooting to find it under the deck. Display was also broken in transit but Solar sent another 1 without hassle. Also the disc's tend to rub a lot. I readjusted the caliper position many times but it keeps happening. That's pretty annoying. If you know how to adjust the pad distance (further away from rotor), let me know.
Awesome! Enjoy your new scooter. -Vosk
You may need to tighten a nut or something for the steering issue, and for the brake disc rubbing I had the same issue but I found out my brake disc was warped and nothing with the brake caliper. It took some time to readjust the brake disc and caliper but once it was in the middle and not rubbing it never came back. I recommend using a disc bending tool and correct T tool.
The front suspension is from Nanrobot 2 and the handle bars as well.

What P setting for the range test? What is the IP rating? Will Solar ever make a seat for the EQ?
They certainly have the deck space. Solar has to make a locking mech for the folded stem; as is looks too risky.
You can email them to ask about the seat. We are not sure.
can you guys do a tire break down video. explaining types of tire sizes, which ones are compatible, where to get decent ones what to avoid. im sure you have a lot more experience than me and its a lot to figure out. like right now i need new tires for my p1 2.0. sure i can buy from solar but they want almost $60 each + shipping. while on amazon they are half that. but i can only find one tread pattern of 80/60-6 there and i want something a little better for winter. but i dont know if a 80/65-6 fits or if a 255- 80 fits or a 10x3. i cant find anything that covers this for me. so i doubt i would be the only one looking for the info and i would like it presented in a smart way..... so you guys seem the best for that.
Interesting idea! We will try our best. -Vosk

@@Ufunny20 actually I used Teflon tape and this worked very well. It’s the stuff plumbers use to seal the threads on pipes / shower heads etc. Taped them up then tightened with vice grips. So far so good. The nice thing is if they do come loose you can easily remove the tape and re-tape everything.

@RiderGuide was talking about the "front, rear or both motors" and "E, D, S drive modes" settings. There's no way to save these 2 selections from a power cycle. Holding M button only activates "40 km/h" mode. (the red sign).
the front, rear and E D S settings are only one press of a button anyways... i meant for settings like launch mode or regen braking....once you have selected the value you want you just hold M and then it will save them settings so you dont have to keep doing them each time you switch it on a off. @@VincentNguyen85
I’m trying to get this one but I have a question regarding the Puncture Prevention Fluid. It is defaulted to 1 but when I up it to 2 it spikes the price do I leave it at 1 or need to get 2?
1! I believe! Use code RIDERGUIDE10!
How does this compare vs the FF Lite from Solar?
FF lite is higher specs! Both are excellent options. You can use code RIDERGUIDE10 for 10% off
FF Lite is higher spec and built more for off-roading⚡
Do you have a source for the folded dimensions? I checked their site and didn't see them. Maybe I missed it. I'd like to see if it will fit in the cab of my truck. Maybe under my bunk.
Check out the video! Might be a scene of it folded in there.
I love mine! The only downfall is my handlebars loosen frequently. Any tips for this? My brakes are a little squeaky as well.
Try blue loctite in the handlebars! Brakes might need a small adjustment. -Vosk
@RiderGuide will i still be able to fold handle bars after using blue loctite

@shanew7361 I have only driven it 6 miles at a time and it only went down one battery notch so I couldn't tell you.
@shanew7361 easy set up. No issues besides squeaks which easy to take care of using their maintenence guides. I recommend lithium grease. Hydraulic brakes. Very fast. Very fun. Start slow
I really wanted to win the Solar scooter or the EMOVE Cruiser in the giveaway
Hope you can win it next time! -Vosk
do the varle eagle one V2 please
I think Mitchell has done that one over on his RK9 rides channel, but I don't know if we'll get to do a review at RiderGuide. I need to remember to ask him to bring it from home, so I can take it for a quick ride. -Paul
