One of the most bizarre matches ever in tennis. Rafael Nadal and Nick Kyrgios definitely share one of the most controversial matchups in tennis history.
Despite the score, this match has some insane tennis featuring the most badass umpire in tennis history, Muhamed Lahyani.
If you turn off your TV and listen very carefully... you will hear him still complaining about it.
😂😂😂
lol
Good one!! 😂😂
I was wondering what that whiny noise was😂
I tried this. It works! I fall asleep to it now.😂😂😂
And that’s why Nadal has won 22 Slams and Kyrgios has won Zero despite his talent. He’s his own worst enemy
Always sad to see someone who has so much talent and could have won numerous slams just not utilize it and instead act like an immature brat.
@@Mzee1084it’s referred to as the curse of the gifted. Through it all, I really enjoy watching nick play. The shotmaking is wonderful.
Very true. And he definitely has the talent to win.
He is a great drama queen tho.

Kyrgios biggest opponent is Kyrgios.

absolutely .he beats himself.
Yes. He should have just forgot some annoying incident in the first game. He is still complaining about it in the second set. It was just a point. Doesn't matter much, if he was wrong or right.
Kyrgios biggest opponent is his mum who didn’t educate him to become a decent man
@@CircuitVPanther do you think a decent man can judge another and his mother , just because he behaves " strange " on a tennis court ??
you don't know anything about neither one nor the other but you open your mouth ???
i just hope you stand smart on court 😘😘😘
Kyrgios is still blaming his mom for not changing his diaper fast enough that one time!
😂😂😂
Well it was his mom's fault breastfeeding him till school age.
He pays people to change it nowadays
@@tonedeafmagonigle3513well they aren't changing it fast enough either. He stinks.
Him to his mom: "It's not fair dude!"
that "it slipped out of my hand" is as credible as "it's an accident" when someone gets caught for cheating
It was obvious BS, which was the point. He was just baiting the umpire. He's a child.
About as credible as "I wouldn't cheat, I'm a mother."
so lame. LOL
That guy is so stupid
yah, but if the roof was sloped..
Kyrgios manufactures reasons to lose, sparing himself from having to deal with pressure.
Exactly!
You get it
Wow. Good point.
I love how he claims if he actually tried he would be the best in the world yet he gets this emotional about losing lol.
@@lastxhurra he black
Omg the umpire is so kind he is even coaching nick telling him to concentrate back to the game but he was still complaining like a 5 year old child, c’mon act like a professional
Hes just talking to the ref
Layani is from Sweden!
One year at the US Open, when Kyrgios was acting up, the umpire came down to give him a pep talk. I could not believe what I was seeing. It was disgusting.
There's no denying how much this guy has been babied over the years for the sake of viewership. And for what? Because tennis needs a "bad boy"?
Well a 5 yo is richer than you
Ironic is, most of you commenters hating on him would act the same in his shoes.
Nadal came to play tennis, Kyrgios came to play around.
I think he convinced himself that he could NOT beat Nadal, so he started goofing off.
Kyrgios is so weak minded. To let one questionable call in the first round let him basically give up on the entire match.
He needs psychological help.
The difference in parenting.
lol ya ok one call and that call in the first match determined the rest of the matches first set it important. Maybe watch before u speak
@Vlasko60 Sadly, Nick can't swim out of his gene pool, despite all the thrashing.
@@daveoliver5838he needs to grow up
There’s a reason people like Federer and Nadal are so revered. Obviously a lot of it is to do with their incredible success but also how they behave, how professional they are, the example that they set to others.
Kyrgios is like a child, the most unprofessional professional athlete I’ve ever seen. Shame on him. If this was his attitude in any ‘normal’ job he’d be fired
“Oh no you can’t hold me accountable for my behavior, someone in my past made me feel bad and now I have to be an insufferable cunt the whole time”.
😊
Perfectly said
Not the whole time. There's times when he can actually be quite likeable, but he's such a toddler in this tantrums. Pity he sabotages himself, but he deserves all the shit he brings upon himself.

don't forget the ,,, "hole " . ba hahahaha
Kyrgios is an embarrassment, and he is not fit to share a court with Nadal.
Kyrgios was his own worst enemy. He self-destructed 3 points into the first game of the final, and the one bad call just allowed himself to lose the plot. He was pretty much shaking his head in disgust constantly from that point onwards in every game. The one bad call didn't change the direction of the match... he changed it himself by playing stupidly out of resenting his own lack of self-belief. Nadal sensed his mental fragility in that moment and had all the confidence in the world to sniff it out and exploit it for the rest of the match. One of the biggest mistakes ever by Nick by letting himself down and letting Nadal free himself up.
Bad call? Or just one he didn’t like?
I've got to say 'resenting his own lack of self-belief' is probably the best summation of Kyrgios I've heard. I think he's probably one of the most naturally gifted player I've seen but you can tell it's been nothing but a burden to him, and acting up is his way to disguise his fear of failure.
@@neonfieldmouse I think - from what he's said - it left him with genuine mental health issues. I've listened to him speak a few times and he comes across like a top bloke. Not everyone is built to be a pro whatever...well, 99% of us aren't. He had so much natural talent it got him to the top even though he probably would rather have been doing something completely different. There are probably 100s more like him but we never hear of them as they aren't as talented
@@davidm8657 Irrelevant, that he allowed it to affect him is the issue
“Greatness is more than potential. It is the execution of that potential. Beyond the raw talent. You need the appropriate training. You need the discipline.”
And the BBC see fit to include him in their Wimbledon commentary team this year. Baffling....
Great to hear his input at Wimbledon, tennis needs characters like him :)
It's a disgrace to the game to have him as a commentator. When did we start rewarding bad behavior? Oh yeah, they put McEnroe on as their lead commentator after he was the worst behaved tennis player in history up until that time!

I have seen some of the most unbelievable plays in tennis by him.
I agree, I think he definitely had the potential to be top 10, maybe even top 5.
He's done a good job at convincing the tennis world he doesn't play much, when its pretty much been his entire career since childhood. His ego is so weak that he's always making excuses. He's been on tour for so long now that its actually become embarrassing to see all the new gen come from no where and already winning slams, while he has none. Forget the hype and the flashy shots every now and then, at the end of the day, he's never been a champion. Just a good player who on a good day can hit some amazing shots.

Nadal playing with a 1/5 million dollar watch blows my mind.
Nick never got into great shape like the legends. When he had to go to deuce after deuce just to hold his first 2 games, he tanked the match. He was not going to run with Naidal for 3 hours. Nadal's legendary mental game is on full display when he turns his back on Nick's nonsense bickering. Nadal just goes about his business.
Kyrgios the type of guy to gaslight in a relationship..
Exactly, that means a lot, he is some sort of BPD-er
There's never been a bigger waste of tennis talent than Kyrgios, who has the emotional maturity of a 3-year-old. Very disappointing that Tennis Channel brought him into the booth during Wimbledon to do commentary when there are mature, knowledgeable players who could do a much better job - and not make the audience have to deal with his thick accent to boot.
It was very professional of Nadal to not say anything, just to mind his own business and just mess around with his racket while Kyrgios was complaining and even when sitting down, Nadal still just taking a drink and staying focused. After those first few points, completely destroyed Kyrgios’s mentality which caused him to miss easy points and effectively lose. Class from Nadal, as always.
Kygios can shoot incredible point - world class - but there is no consistency. Nadal have consistency, cold head and magic.
Kyrgios have incredible talent and incredible weak head.
Are we even comparing here? Come oon 😂😂
Well that is the different between the real champions like rafa, nole and Roger.. And kyrgios. He can have an amazing game but his mentality sucks.
Nadal just like what ever dude.. complaining everything, i just play for win 😂
Kyrgios using the, "his head fell into my fist 67 times officer" defense strategy.
The stupid thing is that so many Australians like Kyrgios and make excuses for his behaviour " oh but he's entertaining" etc etc.
I'm Australian and am ashamed to say so many of our sports people behave like this....the spoilt child thing.
I usually support athletes from other countries 🙂
Same with the cricket team. Bunch of cheaters and sledgers no matter the generation.
@@TheRealGigaCat one hundred percent agree with you 👍 I loved watching cricket when I was a kid but don't bother any more.

The event used to be the entertainment. Greatly, sadly, has it changed in the US.
Same same
i dont think he got humiliated. He needs to shut up and play! I think his strategy was to piss off Nadal and FAILED.
How annoying is K! Just keep silent and play. Act like a pro!
ooh the father of tennis there ! 🤡
Kyrgios is repulsive in every single way.
When was this match, like 2017? Kyrgios always had massive talent but was his own worst enemy. He could have been great if he had a great coach. He had a really unique game and variety of shots, when he hit flat forehand he hit as hard as anybody who ever played. Of course it would not always go in, but still, huge weapon.
He is uncoachable - he is a bully, a know-it-all, and an eternal victim. He needs therapy before he needs a new coach
@@Gregisms True, good points. A coach might not have been able to reach him, although in some cases any kind of mentor can serve as a therapist to some extent. All therapy is about creating self awareness in the end.
So do many college level players. But the "could have" excuse just doesn't fly, especially if there aren't any significant trophies to back it up.
@@cvcfoundation8413 There are not 1 in 1000 college level players who have that kind of talent. Guys like Nadal have said that Kyrgios could win multiple grand slams if he had discipline and focus. Probably will not happen, I doubt he will get even 1, but very few people have the talent that can be said about.
Kyrgios always seemed like a guy who had tough upbringing, like a child who didn’t get much love and didn’t know how to love himself and take a good loving care of himself. I think he deserved a great career. A good reminder for all of us of how important to have a healthy emotional baseline on which to build upon
Wow, Nick had a great family and upbringing in Australia. Can't use that excuse. Just wanted to play basketball professionally is all. Tennis was just easier for him and he loved the money more than the sport.
Great match, Nadal at his best and Kyrgios at his craziest! 😎
He needs to hire a mental coach. Big baby grow up

If Kyrgios concentrated on tennis instead of acting like a snotnose punk, then maybe he could get somewhere?
Basketball was always his preferred sport. Didn't even bother getting a coach on the professional tennis circuit! 😂
The game of tennis is better off without crazy Kyrgios.
He shouldn’t be allowed to play such tournaments: he has no etiquette no class he is a brute
and you are so classy when you write ;)
Very cheap behaviour from Kyrgios. This man needs to be disciplined
Kyrgios : just an empty brain
Putting aside all of Kyrgios' antics, you have to give credit for him for all those crazy forehands. Those are forehands of my dreams
That dude is an embarrassment to the Tennis game. And what's more embarrassment is his humiliating loss. 40-love on 2nd set game 2, Nadal rally from behind to made a deuce and wins that game. Nadal taught him something about humility, respect and class in a tennis match.
Not everyone is meant to be a champion. It's a shame he was gifted with the talent he has

I so enjoyed this. Kyrgios rains on all of his matches. Rafa, of course, remains classy (like his friend Fed). Hey, it's good to hear your voice!
Kyrgios was right: it was over in the first game.
He made the mistake by telling Raf, it is one game, dude. Unless, he was talking to himself. Which I doubt. He lit the fire and got the best of Nadal.
Kyrgios needs antics and shenanigans as he is not able to match Nadal in any department!
I have been watching Nadal for decades, and he is a class act!
“I tried to drink and it slipped out of my hand” 🤣
I wasn’t aware that children could play against adult’s in world tennis tournaments?
so thx to Kyrgios you learned something from a kid ;)
Childish behavior and tantrums have been tolerated by professional tennis since the days of John McEnroe....😮
Example of stopping bad behavior:
Tennis just needs a rule that if you deliberately break your racket, you can't replace it!
Nick needs to take Mental skill lessons from Nadal, notice nothing distracted Nadal the entire match!
A perfect example of what ultimately is the most important requirement for success in life - one's ability to manage oneself.
Juvenile, insensitive, self-centred, disrespectful, dishonest, crude.... Such a shame that one who possesses such great talent and potential just won't grow up.
