- Another night out in my hammock again this time had to make a frame to put it up as there was only one tree cos I could not cross the river so just camped on the bank did some spit roast duck and have a nice chill time hope you enjoy 😊
From a Yank across the pond.. Well done!! I love how you just bust out videos. I never really have to wait!!! "TOTALLY EPIC"
Fantastic John, Your approach and instructions on how to roast on a open fire were brilliant,Thanks. The bit with you bare back riding your A frame... Priceless lol. Keep up the good work, A.J
Hey chef, another great video. Be careful burning pressure treated fence posts, as they're often treated with arsenic and other chemicals.
I enjoy all of your video’s and it’s your cooking that’s to die for, you always make me hungry watching you cook 👨🍳
🔥🇺🇸 nice River love your shows Jim Kansas City Missouri
I’m so glad you chose not to try the river crossing, the current looked much to dangerous and I don’t want to loose my new friend and camp buddy. Stay safe John and try and always have Tim or another camp buddy just Incase you get into a bit of trouble
That duck looked so delicious, & the cake at the end looked awesome, John. Another great camp.
Thank you for showing the wildflowers and the animals, it is wonderfully relaxing to watch your videos!
Another fantastic video thank you. The duck looked tasty especially the bit where you could hear it cracking over the fire.
Keep up the great videos.
Always makes me hungry watching your videos mate.
Hi Chef: As a new subscriber; it occurs to me that a pair of stilts should be a standard part of your kit. That is quite an inventive hammock set up . One of the bush craft essentials is adaptability & you certainly show that Thanks Brian 76
wow , you really gave that duck a good shafting....
Really good video, awesome tips for cooking with a spit roast ... that's a huge floodplain as well!, it looks like a really nice area.

That duck looks delicious! Nice video, looks like a good trip - good call on staying out of the river haha. I was watching bubbles move on the current across the screen, you'd be 500m downstream by the time you swam that! lol!
Thanks for another nice video John. I've never had duck but now I am sure to make one soon.
I bought myself a dutch army tent today, that was another great tip from you!! Thanks.

You eat better on walkabout than I do at home lol
Cool name, Jack Frost!
You need a grapple hook, snag some firewood when ya need it. Also use as pulley system, sling gear across streams etc. Great video.
It's great you show the whole trip. Great job
looks like you had a wet camp , but you did have a nice fire and a well roasted duck , , , and maybe the best part , , you didn't have to swim the river :-) LOL , good video :-)

Love your videos mate ! You inspire me!
Great video. All the best :)
Another entertaining video. You are a cooking savage. Eat better on a camp than 90% of people eating at home with a full kitchen. 🤤
love the vid bro do try making caches of equipment on that side of the river where you camped in case of that situation arising again and also hope the new job is going well ATB!!!!!
Epic Duck, I think I`m going to have to try that this summer ! I`ve had my eye on a boneless leg of lamb, every time I see it I think of you. Maybe you can give me some pointers on seasoning & cooking. Weather is improving, wont be long now. Thank You for sharing your video & bringing us along. ATB
TX bullride! Your funny Mate. Great vid. Keep it up.
Think them two ducks was looking for there mate
Most excellent! :) Thanks.
That duck 🦆 looked epic and roost potatoes would have been outstanding with that duck fat.
Daniel Dooley Exactly what I was thinking of! Great taste mate!
That's fantastic
great video my friend
Another quacking video mate.. I think pancakes and hoisin sauce and a few spring onions would have been my choice of accompaniments. :)
;-)
A Duck in a Ruck WTF!! Lol.
It looks delicious.
next time you do duck save the fat and do some roast spuds in your oven yum yum
have you tried cover your spit roast pole with alum foil would that protect it from the fire ?
another top vid cheers
think you missed a chance here John, you could have built a battleship with all that wood and sailed across!!! lol
Such positive vibe bro.
Make a little boat and cross 2 the other side, but first bring a long cord with u stick one 2 one tree before u cross 2 the other side and go when u cross 2 the other side put the cord on one free its like A Bridge 😃u may go down for little bit but u still crossing 2 the other side.
Love it!!!
nice one mate that duck looked epic to be fair your right you dont get that in a rat pac pmsl atb gaz
I think you should get a queens award for your unwavering service to You Tube.
You should turn the duck against the roll of your foil. Not sure how to better say it, but turning it one way will eventually make the juices drain out, while the other way will keep them in there.
another great vid
I would of took a dip got that roast fire up,cold water g for the heart. Thanks again
Nice job.
;)
Good Call about the River John.. I've got a sayin' that's worked for me over the years (even in the workplace)...
'IF IN DOUBT - LEAVE IT OUT"!! Take Care.
P.S. You had me Coughing Up mi tea again within 3 mins. What Did I Say about Wildlife NOT being "Sexy"?!! PWwHaaaaa!! (Hope it was an April Fool?!! Psdmslf. lol.
Another Superb vid M8)!! Big Thumbs Up!!
Another awesome vid Chef. Had a thought about the spit roast pole. Could you wrap foil around it to prevent the flames from burning it.
When you started talking about Ducks a thought you were going to use it like a jet ski for river crossing
time to get a cheap inflatable dinghy :) love the vids mate
You can silver foil the spit roast pole to stop it burning
pile of drift wood , jon sounds like a kid in a free candy store lol
Well, with the river so high that nice fireplace would be washed away so you would need to start from scratch. The duck looks scrummy. Hope you have shares in tinfoil ?
Nice duck and if you wanted to keep your spit roast stick a lil longer you could've wrapped it in tin foil first. Just an idea ya know.
Read some good ideas about getting across the river: stilts, build a bridge, boat, zip line, ferry raft with ropes, etc. Would make an EPIC video. I tried to scope out the debris village on Google maps. I know I will never get much detail. But it's fun to try to find the camp site on satellite view. Can you steer me in the right direction ? The country side is so beautiful !
another good video
morning buddy . big thank you . ATB
that duck looked quacking. pmsl.
Carlisle my friend, you are looking very smart today. New cap? New jumper for def, that pseudo RAF badge on the right shoulder is weird though.
A full food bag? We're in for a good sesh tonight then.
It may well be, easy to check that on google I suppose. I never did enjoy the Army Issue woolly pully myself, but it was all we had. So much more quality kit out there now and not too costly either. Carlisle should splash out on something lighter and warmer and easier to keep clean, he would certainly get his money's worth out of it!
Jimbojet that "Raf Badge " is Actually an Army Air Corps Badge ;) 🖒🖒🖒🖒
Top man
Love your videos, Chef! Thank you so much! Now...where can I buy a duck? :-)
mine as always thank you mate.
Yet another great video mate. :) Also, I'd like to know your camera brand and model.
You should build a Bridge
In the past i sent the duck across first then the rope then me but you made the right choice ^^ Is it possible to get Quackling off a spit roast duck ? great video mate ATB phil.
Just curious, what editing software do you use for these awesome vids?
Great video. Do u still try to tear down the ivy overgrowing on trees? 🌳
👍

maybe try wrapping your spit roast pole
in foil to prevent it from burning thru
make it last longer
Great vid , well happy about the info on the cooking time . What about putting tin foil on the pole?
I love how you talk, where are you from just found you
lol was that ya wild cowboy act haha
Duck looked really tasty and tender, was it? So hard to keep the moisture in an a roasting Duck, don't you think? Another good vid, thank you.
Quack and Chips!! (but Charlotte spuds will suffice)
I seem to remember some sport involving vaulting? There's a project for you! It is Dutch, called "fierljeppen"
