I don’t think Kara and Nate realize that…. a great majority of their viewers aren’t watching for what they’re doing. I’d literally watch them paint walls or talk about what they had for lunch. I watch because I love …them

    Kara & Nate:
You could post once a year and we would all still be JUST as impacted and invested in your love.
Take a week, take two, take a month- we will all still be here!
Just like Eamon and Bec: we missed this soo much when they were gone, but never lost passion for them.
It’s the beauty of the community you both have built, we aren’t here for the weekly videos, we are here for YOU!
    ❤❤❤
    It’s not UA-cam without YOU. ♥️

Nate seems like such a great support system. He sees what Kara needs before she’s even realized herself, and he respects her needs and wants so much, no questions asked. The way he speaks about kara is so genuine and full of love. It’s heartwarming to see someone truly love and care for their partner.
I think i see a lot of his grandpa’s wise side in nate as well ☺️

Me too! I started off following Kara and Nate years ago and then quickly, through them, was introduced to Eamon and Bec, Craig and Aimee, Raya and Louis. I’m truly grateful for all of them and what they do and what they share with us. I’m 54 and led a pretty outgoing life in my 20s 30s even in my 40s, but I’ve slowed down considerably and find myself being rather content with the slower life, but watching you guys every week fills that little void of not being as adventurous as I used to be. And yes, with every single one of your individual struggles or obstacles with health etc…I find myself truly caring about each and everyone of you and wanting nothing but the best for each and everyone of you. You guys are not even my kids, which I don’t have any out of choice, You’re not my relatives… But I’m genuinely proud of each and everyone of you. ❤

I totally get the kid thing. I am also a school teacher. I was a nanny forever! Truly, I was also the neighborhood babysitter. I was expected to have kids because Ive always been like the “pied pipers”…I get kida.! My husband and I have been married for 10 years and we love our lives….without kids. My advice, don’t let society’s expectations make the decision for you. When other people around you have kids, it seems to be the expected “next logical step”. Don’t do it because everyone else is. If you really want kids you’ll know it! Trust your gut and whatever decision YOU and NATE decide is entirely up to you and NO ONE ELSE.
Kids or no kids, only do what you know feels right for the two of you. ❤

I've had a hard time with the Kara&Nate brand. I got burned out watching them go to wild and crazy places and do wild and crazy things over and over and over. Maybe because I an old enough be their mother, I kept waiting to see more depth or introspection as to what these experiences meant to them in their videos. I became exhausted watching so I can only imagine how exhausted they had to be feeling. I know travel videos are primarily for entertainment but after a while all the places became a blur.
Really enjoying this conversation (as I do EVERY Reroot conversation)!!❤❤❤

Eamon’s remark about loving the non travelling parts of a video is so true. I’ve been thinking for a long time that although I respect the space Kara and Nate have claimed back for themselves, it definitely feels at the cost of the “real” moments. The newer UA-cam videos feel more like a “show” and less like the Kara and Nate a lot of people originally fell in love with.

K&N reminds me so much of my husband and I, only younger. I thought I'd be a mother since forever. I always loved children, I studied to be a montessori teacher etc. I wanted kids so much that in my late 20s while single I was set on adopting and be a single parent. Then met mymy husband who also wanted kids. Then we went travelling while dating. Came back 6 months later and realised regular life wasn't for us, i.e. stay where we lived (my husband homecountry, I had immigrated to it years before we met so it was my 'home' too), work, buy a house raise a family etc. We still wanted kids but perhaps elsewhere. After marriage we relocated in our early 30s. Being away from family and friends solidified us even more as well as shielded us from pressure about having children. Then we went travelling more for 15 months. Relocated again. And in that 10 years since we married had passed and we both realised 1) we were in love with the idea of having kids more than being ready to embrace the responsibilities which to me go way beyond providing food and shelter 2) we completed one another as it is. Hence we changed our minds about the topic and I'm happy that we didn't have a public life to have to deal with bullying pressure from strangers in addition to family or friends. And yes I am using the word bullying because just because it comes from a place of happiness it doesn't mean you aren't forcing/projecting your views & wants. Boundaries don't apply only when something is negative, they apply for everything. I'm a major sharer, and I've had to learn that for ex. When I eat something that I love and brings me so much joy I used to insist that my husband try it too even if he didn't want to and I'd insist until he gave up and tasted it to make me happy. Even if it was for something positive coming from a place of love that I wanted him to experience what I was feeling, my doing was bullying. And I learnt to respect his boundaries, now I still ask but if he says no I drop it. Similarly, if your friends are chosing a lifestyle different to yours like not having kids, stop insisting or bringing up the conversation, respect their boundaries. They are adults, if THEY decide to have them you'll find out anyway.

I like to see how Nate keeps talking about seasons in their life, not chapters, but seasons. Like a tv show or the weather seasons. And it just reminds me that everything is changing all the time, depending on the season. And there will always be a new chapter coming up. Also we all live in different perspectives of time. Some of us plan ahead days and months, but some people already know where they will be in 10 years.
Amazing episode guys! Spreading love for you all! ❤

That minimizes her experience and feelings about it. You may think that your health issues can be healed with positive thinking-but not everyone is there or believes that same way. Maybe meet people where they are and not bring where you are.

You are right, but you also have to consider that medical trauma is intense, and for many sharing and being empathetic in the way they needed it when they were (or are) in a similar situation. It’s well intentioned and sent with love. Give her some grace and see she’s just sharing empathy and certainly not invalidating to Kara. They are very good friends. They understand each others intentions and I’m certain if Kara felt a certain way she would share that with Bec.

Kara described burn out really well. It’s an inability to access yourself because it feels like stress and exhaustion have made you by necessity push your true self into your subconscious. It’s like you are watching yourself as a third person. It’s extremely difficult to turn it around.

I LOVED this episode! I’ve been an avid Kara & Nate watcher for years. They are my happy place. I have rewatched the whole channel probably 3 times and then diff seasons more than that. That being said, I’ve really missed them just talking to the camera, showing us the random in between moments. They do more story stuff now where it feels like they are kinda taken out of it. However, now I realize though that type of content is what makes them happy and drives them, which makes me happy.

Early in this episode, I realized Kara & Nate will be one of (if not) the first UA-camrs to be offered a free trip to outer space. That is literally the limit of where things could go after visiting the South Pole!

  • @meganjohnson5689
    @meganjohnson5689 8 днів тому +2

I think the reason why this episode was the most requested is because the love each couple has for each other is so unique and seeing that all together is so special. The way love is represented in your relationships is by far the number one reason I follow both of you and have for a long time. I think I am one of the few followers that actually found Eamon and Bec first and then followed Kara and Nate after your videos together. Seeing how similar you both value your partner and relationship really comes across in what you share. Thank you for sharing as always. I love all four of you!

I truly loved this episode and I've never listened to the podcast before but just am a Kara and Nate fan. I'm currently job searching and had a really scary panic attack a couple months ago I've learned and grown and changed from that and hearing your perspective on how you sometimes need those wake up call moments to remind you just how nice the little things are means so much to me. I love this positivity and I hope I can continue to carry it with me as I move through life

Kara and Nate: do not regret anything you shared / said, thank you for being vulnerable and congrats to Eamon and Bec for creating that safe and supportive place for you to do so.

I started watching Kara and Nate during the pandemic and my baby daughter would watch with me, I swear their faces were imprinted in her tiny mind. Excited for whatever journey you go on and if you have kids I'll for sure be watching if you decide to share that part of your lives or not. My husband and I also struggled a few years into our marriage with the idea of having kids because we loved our dynamic and simplicity of just us. One question we asked ourselves one day was "do we feel like somebody is missing in our lives?" And the answer was yes. Three years and two kids later we love our dynamic more, even amidst the chaos of having young children. It's hard but as Kara told Nate during Leadville 100 "it's not supposed to be easy!" But your cup will run over with happiness and love. Good luck to you guys and everything you do! Take care of yourselves!

Nate, instead of FOMO, it's called JOMO (the joy of missing out). Learning to enjoy the moment and learning that saying no sometimes, feels GOOD. It really does. And yes, like Eamon explained, doing the things you enjoy.

I have to say…the common phrase I’m known for is “Fear is a wasted emotion”for me and most if not all decisions made in a mindset of fear or anger are often wrong. You guys are 100% right that you have to live the moment you’re in and with the people you have with you. I may not have explained well but life is for living and I refuse to spend moments of my life unhappy. Maybe it’s having been sick for so long but my advice is stop waiting for your life to begin and just live it!!! You all do such an amazing job of living life to its fullest. Gentle hugs to y’all

You don't have to do anything to vie w a video else after you've clicked on it, just watch it, but liking the video puts it into a playlist and maybe people don't want their list video list to be too long. I didn't start liking videos until early this year and only like videos that I truly truly enjoy but don't have a specific playlist to put them into. People might say 'I enjoyed that video, but have no reason to view it again'.

Love ‘Kara & Nate’ (and Eamon & Bec also!!) One of my favorite things with Kara & Nate is the way Nate brings Kara a cup of coffee in the morning. It’s just the sweetest, kindness thing. I know it’s such a simple thing but that effort of the little things they do for each other makes the big things such a team effort and so enjoyable to watch. Look forward to ALL the videos from both couples.
