Never use a steel hammer to take out the crankcase or other engine parts, you may crack the cover. When starting an engine put a wood plank underneath, never run an engine on a hard floor, you may crack the crankcase from the engine vibration.

There is a washer on the governor shaft that appears to have fallen into the engine when you removed it. There is also a washer under that white part you pulled from the gov. gear, it can fall out if left in place.
my cam fell out and these 2 longs things thats right next to the cam fall down i put them back and and lines my cam up and put the caseing back on and my bike is feeling easy to pull then it sound like it has low compression by the way its a new 212 any suggestion????
Buy a 40in throttle cable and buy a vm22 mikuni carberator. Both can be bought on amazon. UA-cam videos on how to install them. Black66 makes a good mikuni carb video. This will also make you go way faster
I have a predator 212 with a stage 1 kit I remove only the governor after an hour or two of riding it shuts off and have to wait like 5 minutes to cool down and it'll turn back on you think I would have to remove the governor sensor
I removed the governer and arm, now it runs at wide open throttle. Ive checked for air leaks and everything with brake clean to no avail. What am i missing here ? I cant find any solutions online.
It hooks up directly into the carb.if you look at the top, there is a black rubber boot it goes through. There is a cylinder with a slot that the cable hooks into. When you hit the throttle to go, it lifts that cylinder that has a needle at the bottom that comes up with it and opens full flow

i did this now i have no compression and it wont start i think it has to do with the 2 round valve things that go up and down do they have to b in a certain position and i lined the dot up with the other dot
I just zip tied the spring from the throttle arm to the governor arm and adjusted the top speed using the limit screw... it’s not much higher in rpms than stock... any problems with this?
I took that govenor pin out cut it then put it back in leaving the linkages and took the govenor out.left the oil sensor in there just incase I needed to return it for warranty purposes. (They will never know)

Thanks for making this man. Have you ever noticed a small rattle in an empty 212 fuel tank? After I put mine back on after removing the Governor, something’s seems to rattle a little when I tilt the engine. It doesn’t seem to roll much but I can’t figure out what it is

@@VasilyBuilds yeah I got the 212 it's stock except for a carb I pulled off a briggs that seems to run better during the winter (runs too lean in the winter with the stock carb so I just swap them out) I guess I just have PTSD from my lawn mower vertical conversion that I removed the governor from and it threw a rod (jug looked fine) but i got so scared from it that I didn't work on 4 strokes for a good year or so other than lawn equipment

@@theofficialvayne0420 that is completely false the governor works by limiting the throttle input. As the engine gets to too high in the rpm range the governor arm pulls back on the throttle arm. That's why when people bypass the governor they either zip tie the spring so the arm can't pull back or they set the linkage directly to the throttle arm and not the governor arm. By putting a new carb on the engine you have a separate throttle setup which bypasses the old one. @@liveandletlive2894 You can't weld steel to aluminum. Well, not with a good hold, the aluminum tends to burn away before the steel will melt. The bolt was steel, the engine block is aluminium. Like he said, tapping the hole is the only good solution here.
hey man , we took the governor out and the engine seems to be running not correctly, the go kart is spurting some smoke and the engine doesnt seem the be revving at the rpms that it was before(the go karts really slow). where did we fuck up pls help

You dont have to totally remove governer inside engine there are many of good you tube videos put there on how to just pull a few springs off and eliminate and reroute
Aiden update I did mess with the cam I pulled everything out of the block to properly remove the governor. The reason I couldn’t get it started was there was some water in the gas tank and I didn’t notice so I just sprayed starter fluid in the carb and it started right up
Dude I recomend you to not disassembly any motor anymore, ever! You almost destroy it. Before starting to mod engines, please take some basic lessons. Also, if you reassembly it without gasket, like you did, you must take care of clearance for the crankshaft axis. That's not a good practice.
Engine may have enough crankshaft end play to begin with which may be why you could get away with using RTV to seal up the side cover. Easy enough to check once the side cover is bolted down. As long as there is some end play it should be fine.
Don't do it unless you don't open it up for more than a minute it will die you can't red line for more than a minute you have to let off the gas as I pass you
Why not just disconnect it? Like I did. No reason to open the case. Welded a steel bolt to an aluminum case? Yeah, right. Before you teach, first learn.

I would have just tap the hole installed a bolt and use some Loctite but hell you could have probably just sealed it up with J-B Weld

It would have been smart to record to more Important parts IE: the removal of the eclip on the white gear and the removal of the oil sensor

You probably left something inside. You do need upgrades inside your engine if you want to make it go faster. Super man cam, billet rod, flywheel.

This is because its hydrolocked...just remove the sparkplug and pull the cord a couple times to get the oil out of the cylinder.

thing that would go first is the rod. Not sure what type of engine you have, predator 212 can go up to 7000 safely with stock everything

But you do need to disconnect it at the wire if it's on a kart or mini bike, the oil sloshing will tell it the oil is low and kill the engine.

Uh, if you are installing the Mikuni, none of the governor linkage connects to it, so you don't need to go inside to remove the governor.
Bernard Allan I made this mistake. I thought it would be fine but it always keeps the engine at idle speeds so you need to take it out actually
You could of just tapped the governor arm hole with a 1/4 20 tapper then put a 1/4 and 1in bolt then put some red lock tight. But either or works
A tap only cost about $5
A tap is only like $5. You could have tapped those holes and then just put a bolt in with some lock tight.
