Way stoked to find your channel, keeps me inspired & excited to work on my childhood mini bike. Thank you for the tips, can’t wait to rip down the road again.
I have to agree that this channel is the real deal, the sh-t people actually want and need to see, the way we do it on a budget or no budget...lol. keep the truly genuine content coming !
Black 66, this was so surprising i had to share…i put a bone stock predator 224 in my cc100x bike with 12/59 gearing and 15” tires and it went 44.4mph with me first time out. Im 185 pounds. Beast for a stock motor in a tiny bike😄👍😳
Maybe a makeshift air scoop over the carb to force even more air through the intake might make a difference. It would be interesting to see if that would work to bring it closer to 45 mph.
Thanks for always sharing your tips and tricks. Will definitely try these on my stock 212.. BTW ,great 1 handed filming. I know it ain’t ez😅.. Love your channel. Ride fast.. Ride safe..👍🏼✌🏼
To those who do the zip tie bypass, the biggest and most dangerous risk is the flywheel exploding at high rpm, the cast iron isn’t designed to spin as fast without the governor working. If your engine is on a mini bike that means shrapnel into your leg and thigh where major arteries are, if the engine is in a go kart, that means shrapnel into your back or head where vital organs are. Save the money and buy a billet aluminum flywheel, your life isn’t worth 2-10 extra mph.
shim the valves and do lash, port and polish and deck the head, polish the rod, take the filter plastic cover off, make muffler more free flowing by putting bigger pipe in between flange and box, run distilled alcohol with bigger jet
The muffler flow is terrible. Use a dremel to open the inlet. Remove the spark arrester. Mill the head .0006 for compression. Check that the throttle stop screw is set to allow the carb to open fully. Remove every other fan blade to reduce resistance. Use a discarded pop (soda) can to make a thin head gasket. Don’t forget safety 3rd or 4th. I forgot which.
That was a fun experiment! As a machinist, just one tip...get used to measuring things with your calipers back on the thick part of the caliper jaw. The thin tips of the calipers are the first thing to wear out and give you a bad measurement. 👍👍
Great video man!! So advancing the timing is more for helping the acceleration not so much top end? Thx for everything you do sir. We all value your time and knowledge
Do the porting on the head, belt sand the head surface and lap it flat to raise the compression, add a pipe (you could make one at home using scrap and the original flange) Cut half the flywheel fan blades off and throw away the air filter box.
my first engine, I cut the flange off the stock exhaust, and welded it to a pit bike pipe I cut up and put a pit bike muffler on it... really cheap (and I did put a small rats tail file down it to port match it as much as possible, and rilled the jet out to 1mm, disconnected the "govna" it was still in there but cable tied the lever back the same direction the throttle pulls it, but the cable acted on the throttle itself. it was definitely noticeable where the power picked up. I would love to see the 0-30 times upped to 0-45mph as most of the lower speeds is the clutch engaging. (the best test is from where the clutch fully engages up to somewhere between maximum torque and max power) I now have a CM grind (close to a fire265?) flat top piston, 10/thou gasket, VM22 etc, but yet to test it out fully
Not sure if it did anything, but I “ported” the stock muffler with a dremel where it connects to the engine. There is quite a step there. Stuffed a small rag in first to keep the filings out of the muffler.
Stange, I had the exact same build, stock predator 212 on a CC100x frame and I could only ever hit 28mph top speed, but the governor zip tie brought me up to about 37-38
@@reivax6368 I don't understand why people don't just shorten the spring or swap mounting holes (or drill a new one) and wind the stop out, that way it still limits the revs using the governor rather than bouncing valves
Just 212 swapped my bike something I did was take the throttle limiter off which gives you five hp Main mods you can do for faster and better performance would be a stage two kit if you have stock internals or if you have built internals a stage three to stage four kit would work too (obviously these would cost a lot of money but it’s the best way to get as much speed and power from your bike)
add a short header and do a comparison video, watch it fly. also for free mods: Port & polish head, lap valves, maybe mill head for more compression. Gas port piston to reduce blow-by. Port carburetor to larger diameter. Drill a bunch of holes in muffler.

It's crazy the speeds he gets with these bikes. I drive offroad only, and a centrifugal clutch wouldn't last 5 minutes with the kind of gearing he's running. 35mph is a good top speed with a moded 212 setup with offroad gearing. Even with a torque converter, 35 isn't bad.
Hello I have a question, recently I bought a stage 1 kit as well as a predator 212 carburetor and installed it on my Coleman bt200x mini bike but I can’t get my mini bike to idle fine. It appears it’s too lean even though I installed a bigger jet and e tube and twisted the idle screw. Would a bigger pilot jet fix the issue? Can someone pls help me thanks.

My question is why not just record times going opposite direction? Just curious and I run a torque converter and recommend it for heavier riders. Nice video
Thanks, because by changing the direction adds variables. It could be slightly up hill or down hill compared to the original direction. I try and keep the variables to a minimum . That way the test are as accurate as possible.
The stock flywheels have a glued-on magnet. They Arnt rated much past the governed RPM. Officially you should change out the wheel if you remove the governor. With that being said I have used one on a pretty much stock engine without the governor with no problems.
Can u do one on a stock 212 with the jet at a 31 and a round air filter maybe we race stock 212 but rules are 31 jet has to have functioning governor 87 pump gas etc
