Hi, 3 years ago this job done,
I have same car, but FSI, for 190 000km.
Working with gloves is sometimes like no feeling in fingers!?
Think best letting oil in filter out with open the orange valve first!
I have same plugs as you for 130 000km by now and no misfire so fare!
Missing screws two of them not so good, wish you luck here!
    Thansk for sharing.

Have you had any troubles with the known piston rings? Oil consumption.
    Thinking about getting one! Thanks

Hi, I have now sold the car.... but did not have any issues with oil consumption. Thanks

It's a common issue with these engines. Also the 1.8tfsi. Can't really do anything about that unless you want to swap all the pistons + piston rings with aftermarket ones

Hi, will this be the same for a 2006 A3? Thanks

If its the same engine (2.0 TFSI), then yes.

The right oil weight is 5w40 not 5w30

    • @twin2civicgaraget2cg75

@@rvacarguy5480 According to the Castrol website it states 5W30. Thanks

@@rvacarguy5480 it is, but most people use 5w40 for these engines especially tuned ones, just look up on forums etc. Also 5w40 is usually cheaper. it's not the oil viscosity that matters but oil specification.

@@rvacarguy5480 the owner's manual for my car says its ok to use 5w30 but 5w40 is the more preferable to be used

Does it have a stupid timing chain or a belt?

    • @twin2civicgaraget2cg75

Hi, it has a timing chain. Thanks

@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 Oh boy.. Good luck with that. Just had to change a timing chain on a 1.4 tsi. Price: €2000.

Hi, I have sold the car now. But if the engine is well serviced, the cam chain should not be an issue until at higher mileage. Hope all is well with your car. Cheers
