  • We finally fixed the New Jeep WJ! The issue turned out to be Skim/PCM Related. We ended up doing the Skim Bypass since our PCM came with the Skim in Learning mode. You technically CANNOT get a PCM withe Skim Bypass. The way to bypass skim is by putting the PCM in Skim Learning mode and Disconnecting your Skim module under your Steering!
I got my PCM From this Seller on Ebay

First get the basics done (maintenence fluids, belt, leaks ect )then swap in a 44 in the rear and ditch the 35. Lift tires wheels and so on and so forth.

I did the skim delete last spring on my 2000 and it worked great, to get rid of the skim light on the dash just pull the gage cluster off and remove the bulb and no more dumb skim light.

You might know the this already, but, the skim keys program are stored in the ECU (or PCM if you like) and the keyless entry fobs are stored in the passenger door window switch. Weird.

If I get a new computer an I didn't opt to the skim delete but if unplug the wire for module before I hook battery up will it work like a skim delete

  • @Ryan.Sanchez.

    What’s the link?

Fresh lights, 2" lift, wheels and tires, Banks Tuned exhaust 😅, cold air intake, hood vents, pin striping. The sky is the limit..

I haven't had hat issue But I Had My 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Wrapped By A Very Good Business But The $1400 Wrap Rotted The Surface Under The Wrap And Now I Had To Order A New Fender, Weld A Couple Very Small Holes,Body Work And Paint,Be Careful With Wrap Because I Didn't Have A Bubble Or Crease And Its A Mess That Will Cost $1500 By The Time It's Painted.

Hi Najar... Actually i have 4.0 Year 2000 California emission type.. The Problem i have is that the battery is okay... Also the Ground and the +12 V to the PCM is okay. The "switched" power to the PCM is also okay.. But the engine does not run. What is also strange.. The voltage on the dashboard move slightly to 8V when i turn the ignition on... but not more.. No matter if the PCM is attached or not... But the PCM is controlling the Dashboard .. What is also strange.. i dont get any Error codes ... So i thing this PCM has reached its end.... and because i am from Austria... its nearly impossile to get a ECU ( PCM) here for this Car. Lately .. the 4.0 was build here in GRAZ ... but was then the WG... Do you have a Adress (link) for a Dealer the can deliever such a ECU and will ship it do Austria Europe... i am searching for a P56041 638A THANK YOU ... GREAT VIDEOS !!!!!!!

A lot of what I saw in the old ECM looks like saltwater corrosion. You did say you're in Florida now, right? If the Jeep was owned locally, that might be what that was. I could be 100% wrong. It's only what it looks like to me.

  • @phantomoverland

Hey Najar, love your channel and all do for the WJ community. I had a similarly fried PCM from jumping my ’02 WJ and getting stuck in theft mode. However, you CAN absolutely have the PCM reprogrammed and removed. I had mine done by an Automotive Computer company called: All Computer Resources, in Florida. You can send in your own PCM or purchase one outright from them with the skim already removed. Worked for me.

ill do the same thing to my wk, hopefully it works

  • @marksjolin6828

I knew immediately what the problem was when I saw the dash - unfortunately by experience. I fried my PCM when using a lithium jump start battery - Jeep immediately went into "I'm being stolen" mode. Good video as always and looking forward to seeing what you do to the latest WJ!

  • @nemis1320

Ok I will definitely try that it’s crazy I never even thought about it could be ecu so many people was saying everything else but that lol thanks

  • @MyBacktrail

Thanks for the info, I'm going to do this! Unrelated question: if you have only a key and no key fob, what can you do to program a new fob?

  • @RustyJeepHole

Nice deal on a clean jeep

  • @jefflassegard573

You should turbo or centrifugal supercharge it, slam it. And have a lighter, awd SRT8 Grand, w solid axles for excellent geometry to the ground and linked at both ends already.

  • @Mr360alan

what did you do to fix the steering my is lose like that as well.

  • @christianvela455

Bro I need help idk if it's the bcm or bad wires in the door

  • @davidm9214

So im guessing an aftermarket comand start will work after this "delete".
