- Hey Guys today we Install a Double Din Radio on my Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ. The stereo we used is an Atoto S8 Pro which was provided by Atoto. as for the ZJ, the problem with the standard infinity gold system, you work with factory amp for 2 Ohm speakers. With the new radio with 4 Ohm speaker output, you will kill the 2 Ohm components, that you connect with them. For the WJ, you have to make shure, if you connect your new radio to amp and speakers for 4 Ohm.

You cruel beast dude;-) No need to cut bottom part at all (vents cover I mean). Just installed A8 in my WJ. Cut upper brackets only and it fits perfectly.

the JVC KVW double din, has the same exact wiring on the head unit.
Since the head unit has its own steering wheel control module do you need the 3rd party or can you connect directly?
What adapter do you recommend for the steering wheel buttons?
Does that mirror display expand to full screen? Can you run multiple apps at the same time?

@@NajarOffroad I bought the link off amazon. I installed this on one of the WJ's. the steering kit did not work right away, so I am holding off. I also found a hacksaw blade on the plastic worked better than the power saw. Mau=ybe i didn't have a plastic blade.

Basically after you program the ASWC-1 you have change the radio type, and connect two more wires. I have the procedure. How do I get it to you? I got a quick question for you when you put the other radio in your Jeep did you bypass the factory amplifier because I'm thinking about doing the same thing and I would like to run the stereo amp and my factory amp at the same time I just did not know if this would cause problems

A better option so you don't have to hack anything up is just get the head units with a floating screen then it installs like a single din but has larger than a double din screen
And here's me just putting a 10 inch tablet over the stock radio 🤣🤣

@@NajarOffroad gotcha. I saw them on sale and thought about picking them up. Do you feel the double din was worth it instead of the single din? Was looking at replacing, and wasn't sure if wanted to just go single din. Also, keep posting those videos. Good to see someone continually show some love and upgrades to a WJ. I have a lot of the parts you show on here in an amazon list.
I like my double din! But there are also single din with a screen that look nice and probably save you some time on install. For me the CarPlay is worth it!

Can you hook an Amp up that unit?
When you cut into the air vents did you have to use abs plastic to close the gap opening so ac or heat doesn't blow onto the double din???? I would like to see more detail video of how you trimmed it ? Because I'm buying a 2004 Jeep Grand cherokee Laredo tomorrow
Hey man! So the plastic you are cutting is kinda like support tabs you’re not actually cutting into where the air flows

Did your Jeep have the infinity system with amp? Wondering if you experienced the 'no sound' issue when swapping out head units. Also, the Binizie install in Chris's jeep have the infinity system? Both look fantastic and curious as to those details. Last request, what part number for the pioneer rear speakers did you end up going with?
Mine does have the infinity sound system. Chris does not. I don’t remember the speakers were on sale for like $60 at Best Buy. Main thing is connecting the blue wire for amp if you have the infinity system

Seems like that have an updated version I think the one I have isn’t sold anymore. I’m not sure why because the radio has been great for me!
Not as much to cut really from what I thought. I may put this on my list to do before the summer then.

Those lights are amazon ones. I recommend looking into Lasfit Pod lights super bright and affordable
What size ATOTO are you using? The linc you supplied has a 10 inch which does not fit a WJ.

Just for info - my kit says not to cut the bottom at all - cut the top plastic frame as the instructions show. Don't cut into your vent ducts.
You’re not cutting the ducts themselves you cut the plastic on top of the ducts
In the process of installing a double din, comes on but no sound. Have it all color matched, but a pink wire and a brown one, not connected. No idea what they go to. Any ideas? It's a $60 stereo off Amazon. I have the caramps install kit as well
Make sure you connect the amp cable I believe it’s a blue one? I have another install video of a radio watch that one I think we also had something to do with a link and brown cable might be different by year 2001 we had the pink brown cable. 2002 we had a blue cable that had to be connected from our experience
@@NajarOffroad awesome! ill definitely check out the video. And yea the blue, pink, and brown are not hooked up. Also a 2001. There was a black wire I had to plug into the factory Amp plug, which made it come on. Does the blue also go in that plug? I can send a pic to your fb page to show you.

it is just a pry out as one panel , slip a pry tool behind the panel and pry it out one side then the other .just pops off in the direction of the shiftier.
if you are forcing it, you are doing it wrong.

If you have the added mic attached it is good! If you use the onboard mic that’s on the unit it is not good

So u cut into the ac vent so it don't blow out of them vents
No the vent has a plastic piece on top like reinforcement and you cut that extra plastic doesn’t do anything. The ac ducts are still in play and working normally

Well I’m lifted on 33s I almost get 11MPGs no just maintenance stuff
I have a stock 04 WJ with 4.0 Inline...get 15C/18H...best engine known to man and very mechanic friendly...biggest problem was the transmission wouldn’t come out of first at 38k but under warranty and no problems since...as long as u keep oil in the engine the engine will last

What is a DIN? And the difference between a single DIN and a double DIN??
DIN is the size of the head unit. A single din is 2 inches tall, a double din is 4 inches like the one he has in this video.
