Wasn't that on the recording of the attack which Talon Karrde acquired from an old colleague? If I recall the angle of the recording was such that it was possible to see the shot "splash" against the planetary shield, then another shot appeared at roughly the right point to have come from a Carrack class light cruiser hovering directly beneath the shield.
@@davebignell773 The scene plays out from the perspective of characters on the Chimera right at the start of Last Command where they're referred to as cruisers and the New Republic deduces it was probably a Carrack class later on from that recording.

There was that time Jagged Fel was the Chief of State of the Imperial Remnant for an extended period of time, where it is clearly stated his government was more fair & even-handed than the Galactic Alliance Government run by Admiral Daala.
Having Star Forge and Spaarti Cloning Facility... he would've won in in a blink of an eye... of course providing that he'd get rid of C'Baoth along the way since he became very serious threat. And honestly... I don't think that Thrawn would've been such a bad emperor. He is a humanist after all.

Wait... dam. Cloaking tech has come a long way for star wars then. In the clone wars episode of Cat and Mouse, the Republic Stealth ship could not fire its weapons or its turbolasers without uncloaking. But these ships can fire while cloaked??!!?

I'd love to see a fleet vs. fleet battle between Grand Admiral Thrawn and Captain Jacob Keyes from _Halo._ Keyes was known as a brilliant tactical mind who excelled in battles where his forces were outclassed.
Eck did a Thrawn vs Preston Cole from Halo. A much better tactician, and Cole did not stand a chance. While Keyes is one of my favourite characters from my favourite game, he’s just too heavily outmatched.

I still remembered reading this back in the day and had a good idea before hand what this was about. I’m happy Thrawn was so popular but I just can’t get on board Disney’s re-imagining of the EU. Long live Legends. While some of the stories didn’t work it still had a lot of awesome world building and helped to make Star Wars feel larger.

All and all good review. However, I am going to knit pick the Dreadnauts under the shield. It's stated in the Last Command that cruisers with 1,000 clones on board were hovering on repulsers under the shield. It's more likely that Thrawn used Carrack light cruiser for the deception. That's why he need 4 under the shield.

Thrawn doesn't need a super weapon. He IS a super weapon.
This is one of the best ideas within the Thrawn trilogy, as well as the use of the Interdictors to deploy your fleet with a high degree of precision.
