There is a couple in the Legacy comics that is good meme material. I made one with Darth Talon flirting with Cade Skywalker and replacing his angry defiance with "BE GONE! THOT!" Meanwhile, I think it was a movie, Roan Fel's introduction would be as popular as "I am the Senate" as it's basically the same thing with "I am, by right of birth and choice, your Emperor," with the added benefit of being an introduction to the character rather than being a simple one-liner.

Suggestion: a “Star Wars” version of “World of Warships”.
Reason: we Star Wars fans have flown ships no bigger than the Sorosuub Luxury Yachts, Y-8 Mining Ships, YE-4s, AEG-77 Vigos, & the Incom X-4s. I wonder what its like to Navigate larger ships while firing the cannons & such.
Gameplay would likely be similar to World of Warships in that if you gave the autopilot the course it needs to follow, it’ll adjust to avoid asteroids & other objects in space. And you could also designate a target while you focus on another so that as the secondary passes by, all guns that are available to your targeting reticle could be used & such.

Ecks, I would absolutely LOVE to see a sequel to Battle of the Dreadnoughts. In the first one, it felt like you took a mini Star Wars movie and just put it on UA-cam and that was just awesome. I also have a question. When you were playing empire at war remake, did you use the steam game, and if so, how did you get it to work, because I have been trying to get it to work for weeks and just can’t figure it out.
Oh, that's actually quite easy to do. The difference is that you launch it from the mod folder instead of the game menu. The mod author provided a shortcut from which it is meant to be launched, it's titled "Empire at War Remake Light Steam" Hope that's all the tech support you need, if not there are plenty of up to date videos on YT.

I would say Galactic, due to technology advantage.
UNSC may have the advantage on range and arguably weaponry (if you use anything that is not Star Wars Cross-Sections where everything is in the bullshitium of power)
But their FTL is crippling
They may be able to fuck off the Galactic Empire but they are basically unable to attack any far distant place like Coruscant or Kuat.
I think it mostly ends with the Galactic Empire ignoring both UNSC and SA because it is just too much manpower and ships for such little space.

Knowing Palpatine the ghost ship could be the Eclipse III, just one more of his 'parting gifts' to the galaxy.
The Breakdown and lore you gave to this battle is amazing. I do hope there is a sequel.
my personal headcanon: this ship had nothing to do with Palpatine. someone out there in the expanse built this ship. maybe in the unknown regions, maybe wild space, maybe one of the satellite galaxies that orbit the star wars galaxy. built by a faction that would be hostile to all factions, vong, republic, even palpatines reborn empire if it was still around. and if they had one that they could spare to marauder around the galaxy, then perhaps they even have others. my bet is that this faction is operating from one of the satellite galaxies. hell maybe this eclipse was sent to the main galaxy on a suicide mission, the goal: establish fear.
@@darkdialga777I'm going to agree with you on that, my betting is it was probably an Imperial Warlord who escaped into the Unknown Regions some time after the Battle of Endor, and managed to build it some time after Palpatine's final death in Dark Empire
As someone who saw Battle of the Dreadnoughts in my recommended but didn't watch it until some time later, part of the problem was that I didn't realize it was a fan film. I thought it was a breakdown of a battle from legends, which I'm more accustomed to seeing from you (I wasn't a subscriber at the time, so only knew you from my recommendeds). Also, the thumbnail didn't capture my attention - it was mostly dark (space does that) and I personally don't like the profile of the Eclipse II that much. I think that if I had realized it was a fan film featuring ship models by EC Henry, I would have clicked much sooner.

would love to see a continuation of Battle of the Dreadnoughts to see how the starfighters go against this ghost eclipse. Reminds me a bit of the attack on the Bismarck. I know i'd love to see a second episode/ continuation of the first. (And if you're thinking about doing something different, doing a large scale clone wars engagement could be cool)

Although I do admit that your concerns are still warranted, and I don't ever want to see Eck's livelihood put under threat, I would happily throw $20 his way to see another one of those.

One thing I noticed in the actual video is how the captain of the Eclipse 2 (3?) seems to go back and forth between what looks to be a more conventional Star Destroyer bridge, and a death Star style control room. I know this is because of used footage from the OT, but I have this headcanon now that has the bridge be a Death Star control room at the back, and the captain is excitedly running back and forth, gleefully directing his ship to kill the Viscount class. Very silly and undignified, but it is what is in my head ever since I saw the video...
Ever since I first played the Eclipse in Empire at War FoC, I've thought it was one of the coolest ships in all Sci-fi....
That was almost 14 years ago now... And now to see it in action in an awesome space battle is literally a dream come true for me.

What if the UNSC had never researched the spartan 2 or mjolnir programs. However one month after first contact with the covenant the UNSC INFINITY and her escort fleet of Autumn class cruisers appear at earth through a wormhole. The ships are fully operational and have manuals detailing how all ship systems, such as shielding and more advanced slipsace, operate and also how to build them for other ships. How does this affect the human covenant war? Does humanity win or lose ?
I’d guess it’d be quite a bit more fair, but the Covenant are still massive and have far more ships

TheWingland okay first question: how the heck did those ships get there? You say through a wormhole, but like, do wormholes send you back in time? And also, even if it did send them back in time, how would that diture them from doing the spartan program? Well, just a few questions is all.
Mr_H I have heard it theorized that wormholes can send things back in time. I don’t think anyone really knows how to time travel would work. As for why they didn’t do the spartan program honestly because I think if they had the spartan two program and the infinity and it’s fleet did you marry would just crush the covenant. So I don’t really have a reason why do UNSC wouldn’t have created the spartan 2 program just that they didn’t.
TheWingland well, fair enough i suppose. My only explination is that, they wouldn't have enpugh money for both the program, and building all those crazy ships. So instead of making crazy super soldiers, they made crazy good space ships that can take on any covenant fleet.

I watched BOTD several times! I'm surprised that it didn't perform as well. I definitely want a sequel. Star Wars needs more Ship to Ship engagements.
Let's be honest it was well made but dreadnought class ships would have had hundreds if not thousands of weapons and the crossfire was more indicative of a battle between two frigates. A lot of potential though. Good stuff much like wow

The Eclipse 3, or The Total Eclipse, is a very interesting ship, and I quite like it. Maybe it doesn't have any interdictors because it needs all the space for power generation for the superlazer and heavy turbolazers. It might not even have hangerspace, if you look on the overall ship, I dont see any open hangers.

Seeing as it's Canon (partly) through Star Wars: Commander, is it possible that the Galactic Empire's Project: Blackwing had a secret objective of unlocking immortality (possibly based on one of Plagueis's attempts) and used by Palpatine around the time of the Battle of Endor? Seeing as the original version of the virus in Legends was created by Darth Drear in order to achieve immortality for Sith Lords, something Canon Palpatine was looking for due to believing that the Empire shouldn't out live him. I'm probably thinking about this from randomly becoming interested in the Death Troopers novel recently for some reason.

Loved Battle of the Dreadnaughts, honestly one of my favorite videos on YT, seen it at least 2 dozen times if not more. Thanks for breaking it down, answered a lot of my questions as I am still relatively new to the EU. Thank your for doing such an incredible job making it, and I totally understand the logistics, but more episodes wether it be a part two, or an completely different set of dreadnaughts, would be inexplicably amazing, would watch over and over. Keep it up and thanks for the best SW (and halo) content anywhere online.

How did the Eclipse land with the huge shape down?

The Eclipse doesn't land at all. Ships of that size are far too large to enter the atmosphere of a planet. For comparison the smaller Mon Calamari ships you see here are roughly the same size as Imperial Star Destroyers which are *barely* able to operate in a planet as is. Both massive ships seen are larger even than Darth Vader's Executor Super Star Destroyer. They operate solely in space.

Hi Eck! What about making a battlle with Supremacy mega star destroyer. We actually did not see it's real power (books tells us what it has thousands or tens thousands of weapons). It Will be interesting if this battlle Will include an Eclipse dreadnought because I think it's superlazer can not one shot Supremacy because of it's size. It is only my variant.

The superlaser of the legends eclipse while only a fraction of the firepower of the death star was still more than enough of slashing through any planetary shield, crack open a planet's crust and sear entire continental landmasses. If you want to know what that might look like watch Rouge One for the destruction of Jedda

Hello Eck would you please make an episode explaining : *WHY STAR WARS SHIPS ARE OR ARE NOT DUM DESIGNS ?*
That eclipse is the Flying Dutchman of the galaxy.
I theorize the ghost ship had two escort ships with cloaking technology, using similar strategies to submarines in our world for staying under the radar. I think these two ships would have small yet precise interdictor generators, not useful for taking a large fleet out of hyperspace or keeping a fleet trapped like the interdictors seen in Star Wars Rebels, that would have been able to take a single large ship like the Eclipse 2 out of hyperspace. That would serve to explain how the ship got so close to the New Republic fleet and it would be an interesting piece of technology. The two escorts could have been stalking the New Republic fleet and it’s escorts for some time and finally signaled the ghost ship to jump in and engage. They could also assist the ghost ship in part two, if it’s ever made, by de-cloaking and launching torpedos.

The Eclipse reminds me a little of a Shadow vessel from Babylon 5. Hypers in with precision, wipes everything out, no communications, then leaves.

Dude this is awesome. I love it. ANOTHER!! I adore these creative capitol ship based stories even more than I like star fighter based stories. Plus battle breakdowns are awesome. I miss your battle breakdowns from the Yuuzhan Vong era.
Is there a reason the Viscount and Eclipse didn't manage to scramble *any* fighters at all during the battle? (Other than they didn't want to animate it I guess). Wouldn't a ship like the viscount have at least a small fighter escort 24/7? It carried over 200 fighters. I know they were in the process of planning a hyperspace jump, but NR fighters have hyperdrives for a reason. And even then, I feel like once the ship is under attack a good amount of fighters would be scrambled in just a few seconds from both the Eclipse and Viscount. Bombers would have been advantageous for both sides. Imperial ships are famous for not having anti fighter weapons, and Mon Cal ships use their turbolasers to attack fighters meaning less turbolasers to fight the eclipse.

Congrats on Battle of the Dreadnoughts! Very well done and and realistic; naval battles aim to be brief and often are, because the longer an engagement lasts, the harder it gets to maintain advantage and achieve a desirable outcome.

I gotta say I love the Battle of the Dreadnoughts video and cant belive how high quality and professional it turned out. You said it wasnt cheap and you can definitely tell. I do think one reason it didnt blow up as much as you were hoping, is the lack of narrative. I would have loved if you could have included that backstory in the actual video somehow, or had a couple characters we track through the battle?
I think I speak for us all that we’d LOVE a part 2 especially if it’s longer, but if you can’t then we understand move at your own pace
