Hi Rae! PLEASE don’t stop your videos, it does take a long time to gain a following and all the best UA-camrs have had to start at ground zero. Just like working out, gotta start somewhere. You’re off to a great start and developing a following. You are so appreciated by women like me over 50 who are feeling rather desperate about what menopause has done to our bodies. ✌️💕
So glad I found your channel! You give so much information on proper technique and take your time so we can keep up and keep proper form. I was involved with Judo through my father from childhood to teens. I am a Navy veteran, and after taking care of both of my parents til they passed , I have to start taking care of myself to have a full healthy life for myself and family! Thank you so much for giving your time and expertise, you are greatly appreciated!!😊♥️♥️
Hey I had planned to but the nutrition videos I have shared to date don't get many views. 😟 Have you watched any of them? Maybe I need to change the titles? Or maybe its because they were my first UA-cam videos I did!! I will link one here and you can let me know! 💜. ua-cam.com/video/rnFwDbW9VlQ/v-deo.html
There’s not an easy answer to this I’m afraid. It depends if you’ve ever trained before, how consistent you are and also what you eat not forgetting getting enough sleep. The thing about weight training is you need to be consistent and you need to be training progressively. Make it a part of your lifestyle and you will see results over time. Add in a good healthy way of eating and you will see results quicker. If you have the right mindset when you start you will over time get to be in the best shape of your life. I’m sorry if that’s not what you wanted to hear but you can do it! And as an over 50 year old menopausal woman like me you really must do it to be strong and healthy in your older years 💜
Hi Rae, Just found you on youtube. Thank you for the really helpful talks. I'm doing well with weight training but can't lose the fat around my tummy still. I'm also not sure how much protein I need, I'm plant-based. I'm 54 and on HRT, any help would be amazing. I'm 73 kg and 5ft 6 my body fat is still too high.
Hey welcome to my channel 🥰 I'm so happy you're enjoying my videos! It sounds like you're on the right track with your weight training and HRT 🙏 it really is consistency and patience. When I am not competing I aim for 1 g of protein per lb of body weight spread evenly throughout my meals (this is above the recommended requirement for a woman who doesn't train.) It can be hard to reach this goal on a plant based diet if you are in a calorie deficit as many plant based protein sources are also high in fat or carbs. When I was 100% plant based I discovered these to be the best protein sources Tofu, Seitan, Textured soy protein, Tempeh, Pea protein powder, Nutritional yeast. Do watch my nutrition videos as I share some my healthy eating top tips particularly good for when you have fat loss goals. 💜 I have a playlist called Fat Loss tips, here's a video to get you started ua-cam.com/video/rnFwDbW9VlQ/v-deo.html
It depends how sore they leave your glutes so listen to your body. But training glutes with a band shouldn't leave you too sore the next day. If banded exercises are the only glute workouts you are doing then you can train like this 3-6 days a week 😍
