The flavor for snowball fight is that all the minions on the board are having a fun little snowball fight until they realize someone just died
That does sound like a fun snowball fight
classic childhood memory
@@keiclera6596 can confirm, I was the child that died
This review seems quicker than I remember them to be. What a storm of tempo, and really packing some value-able information. 5-stars.
Yeah usually he makes it into 3 videos
Well... doesn't help that everyone has doubts that this expansion will do much, if anything, to shake up the meta in terms of making new deck archetypes. Biggest things to go over are the improvements to old decks.
Very short, but honestly, most of Card review is 1 or 2 stars....
Does it help a currently meta quest deck? No?
1 star
Probably needs more time to play AOE4 lol
I love Trump ratings
He'll either give us a solid crafting guide
Or top-tier memes throughout christmas and new year
Love him
He always seems blind on somethings. Like the fact that Goldtooth Mine can search Lightning Bloom to set up a combo
@@BlinkofaStorm why would you do that though? Paying 2 mana so you can get 2 mana in the future while also overloading yourself isn’t useful unless you have a combo deck. The main use I can see is drawing your drek’thar but that’s about it.
"isnt happening" seems to be a theme of this set.
Blizz gonna need to do some mass nerfs for any of these new cards to be relevant (except for Shaman, which got some really good cards.)
This set teaches an extremely basic CCG lesson; slow cards don't actually slow a format down.
To slow down a format you need to be able to actually interact with things, and current combo decks are just not possible to interact with.
That will be the lesson if those community predictions are actually correct. Seems a bit early to make that call though, if there is one thing I have learned from watching community discussions around unreleased hearthstone cards, it is that popular community predictions are usually wrong. Remember how Mr. Smite was definitely going to be nerfed?
correction there is no interaction in hearthstone; and thus the game always has an aggro meta with a couple annoying control and combo decks.
@@geasslelouch Hearthstone totally has interaction - removal is a type of interaction that specifically deals with minions. Hell, minions themselves are interaction because they can attack each other.
However, Hearthstone rarely has anything that interacts with combo from hand. There have been a handful examples like Dirty Rat, but there isn't much of anything at the moment. Sometimes this lack of interaction isn't even that big of a problem and can result in a slow meta, but it does become a problem in a meta dominated by combo decks.
@@Coffeewings334 well, there’s cult neophyte and far watch post, but neither of them are very good and the meta heavily incentivizes just adding more damage instead to kill your opponent before the combo goes off. The game needs something like ice block or that paladin invuln to really impactfully nerf the combos for the meta shift they want, I think.
@@wiirkirbys6981 Yeah, that Paladin hero is one of a few new cards that can meaningfully interact with current combos.
I'm so tired of designs like Spring Water and Secret Passage limiting class design for their entire life cycle.
Even without the current meta to stop all these cards, I feel like the internal balance is really wack in this set. Like warrior got the shaft for the heroes for no reason at all.
Paladin hero: Cast consecration. Minions in your hand have +4/+4. Equip an unbreakable 2 attack weapon. You take half damage for the rest of the game.
Warlock: Cast hellfire. Shuffle 3 3/3 portals into your deck. Your hero power no longer damages you and may randomly summon a 3/3. Draw 3 cards.
Warrior: Equip Arcanite Reaper
True, but you have to factor in what a class can do. Warriors can take advantage of the 5/2 and hero power to make an opponent's taunt minions hit them, and can bypass the taunt directly with the hero power, so it could be valuable to aggressive decks that would run out of steam in the late game, when your slower opponents have an annoying big taunt that you can't get through up.
@@Swish419 that’s such a niche situation though. There are very few instances where you want to use Arcanite reaper to trade instead of hitting the 5 damage to face. Even then, for it to be worth anything, the minion has to have more than 5 attack, 5 or less health AND even then you’re still taking damage. It’d be one thing if it had Immune while attacking, but here we are.
Control doesn’t care about the chip damage from the weapon, shadowform hero power on turn 7 is hilariously too slow, the armor gain is unreliable, and it’s way too slow for aggro. It’s a jack of all trades card that fails at everything.
@@bloodbane93 It's definitely the worst one because it doesn't have an instantaneous effect like dealing 2 damage to all enemies. However, with what warriors want to do: either deal damage to face or control the board, it seems valuable. The ability to weaponize your opponent's defenses if you're an aggro deck, or deal chip damage while cleaning up your opponent's board make it seem not completely useless in terms of a "hero" type of card. When you compare it to the others on offer though, I don't think it necessarily stands up, but by itself in a vacuum I can understand the design choices.
I feel like it needs an effect when it is played desperately, something that fits the warrior like "deal 1 damage to all minions, give friendly minions +2 attack" or something. Paladin has Consecration baked in, Warlock has Hellfire baked in, Warrior needs some effect like that.
You're really shafting the hero power on the warrior, it's very good against aggro
Do love how Blizzard tried to release a bunch of cards to slow the games down and make it more control/value focused but from everything we've seen from the previews the only decks that are seeing any kind of positive play are new combo and OTK decks something we already had no shortage of. That Humongous owl is going to prove to be a particular mistake on Blizz's part.
As Trump pointed out, the owl will be a meme. It will suck in the moment you see it pulled off against you, but it’s too inconsistent and slow to actually be a good deck
lmfao
@@Icetea-2000 that means it becomes a meme or it's the next broken thing
@@TheMousePokemon Exactly, i wish they'd just stop printing that kind of stuff altogether
Well the format of preview decks mandates a certain amount of the new cards be in your deck. The fact that meme owl decks are beating decks comprised mainly of new cards should be telling how bad this set is. But the performance of owl in preview, shouldn't be mistaken for how it will preform in the meta, because of how well the top tier decks will match up to owl meme decks in comparison
Malygos was a million times more interactive than half of the current meta
@wakkydude you never got steamrolled by mages warlocks and druids I see
I 100% agree that Irondeep Trogg and the Tamsin hero card are some of the best in the set. Not a lot of people seem to share this opinion so we’ll see how our predictions play out. I’m confident that trogg will do well in handbuff paladin, which i’ll be trying out day one with Cariel
A lot of these spice up Arena, would be wonderful to see Trump spam it again
Alterac Valley: 2 Weeks Later
This is done after the first balance patch, but I'll be looking at before the balance patch meta.
CORRECT
Irondeep Trogg - So powerful it had to get nerfed to summoning a regular Trogg instead of a copy. Many decks popped up solely to exploit Trogg, which only furthered the Trogg domination as those decks were also oppressed by the Trogg. And if you couldn't kill Trogg, you usually just died.
Alignment Druid - Also had to get nerfed. It slotted in exactly Guff and Lokholar and that's it. It's strong against Combo decks but crumples to anything aggressive.
Big Spell Mage - Imagine running Mage Minions in 2021. Had to get its Hero card buffed as well in two ways, and it's still a long way off.
Libram/Buff Paladin - Every single Paladin deck runs Lightforged Cariel, and Cariel is playing a significant role in Paladin's T1 status - now you can laugh off the combo decks' damage! (except Warlock). Even in the Viper meta it's still just good. Stonehearth Vindicator is run in everything except Big, it's just a really efficient card. Saidan is core to Buff and a sometimes include in Libram.
Deathrattle Rogue - Not enough good Deathrattles.
Dreadlich Tamsin - #2 by deck inclusion rate, makes it into the majority of Warlock decks. Some pure Quest variants are holding out not running it though.
Warrior - Warrior is currently the most one-dimensional class on Ladder, still running the old Pirate list with exactly no new cards. Big Warrior has fallen off, and Galvangar and wider Control lacks the tools to exist.
Lokholar - Right for the wrong reasons. Actually found its home in Alignment Druid, where you can buff it into a 12/12 with Survival of the Fittest and obliterate your opponent's board.
MOSTLY THERE
Kurtrus, Demon-Render - It's actually a really good finisher even in non-Token lists, and makes it into most DH decks that aren't Quest.
Capture Coldtooth Mine - There exists a deck which uses Capture Coldtooth Mine in conjunction with its highest cost card being Drek'Thar to scam the opponent out of the game with a single massive turn. It's incredibly inconsistent and overall weak, but seeing enough play to say it's T4.
Mozaki Mage - SIphon Mana works wonders in enabling the deck. Also preys on the Owl locks which struggle to get out of range of its burst.
Big Paladin - It's not doing well, but it's surprisingly popular - enough to say it's a legitimate deck.
Deathrattle Priest - Xyrella's Battlecry is amazing enough that it carries the deck to T3 relevance. Spirit Guide and Undying DIsciple also make the list.
Burgle Rogue - Another weird one. It runs a disruption package of Deviate Delight and Parrley, and aims to win the tempo game with the Burgle package, or pivot into shutting down your opponent's win condition if that doesn't work. It's meme, but popular enough to say it's not just a one-off thing.
Frost Shaman - There's only two cards you don't run - Glaciate and Snowball Fight. Everything else makes it into the Tier 1 deck of Frost Shaman. Snowfall Guardian in particular was so good when paired with Bolner and Macaw it had to get nerfed.
OFF
Beast Druid - It takes too many deckslots to make the Beast Package work, and it's strictly worse than the established Taunt package that was run during Stormwind. Instead Aggro Druid went the direction of adding in Irondeep Trogg and buffing it to the moon for some scam wins.
Beast Hunter - Plot twist: Mulverick is actually good. It's a weird deck, namely running Secrets for its early game and maindecking Vandarr alongside cards like Leoroxx, Imported Tarantula, and Owl. T2 by winrate, but a sleeper deck of the set. It got hit by a buff to Tavish funnily enough, which should help keep it relevant.
Dun Baldar Bridge - It's too slow and the payoff is too weak.
Piggyback Imp - It's making it into Deathrattle DH, 3 mana sticky 4/1 is just good enough.
Vanndarr - It's making it into a lot of different decks, some good, some less good. Ironically doing better than Drek'Thar oddly enough, despite everyone calling Drek'Thar the better of the two generals.
Frostwolf Warmaster - the decks that play a lot of cards in a turn don't want a 0 mana 3/3, because they're usually doing that the turn they kill their opponent.
DR. BOOM
OwlTK Warlock - It was definitely not a meme. It was the premiere new deck of the Expansion, and quickly overtook both variants of Questlock in both popularity and winrate. The win condition is quite fast and consistent, able to usually get its OTK off on 8 or 9. Meta warped itself around Owl, with a lot of the meta running double Rustrot Viper solely to destroy Mithril Rods, omnipresence of Mutanus to eat combo pieces, and even cards like Parrley and Savory Deviate Delight seeing play to potentially destroy the combo. Plus the balance patch hit it 3 times - Touch, Mithril Rod, and Artificer all getting hit.
Sacrificial Summoner Zoolock - It's too slow and gimmicky for a Zoo deck. Plus Sacrificial Summoner has inherent antisynergy with itself as most Eggs cost 2, and Sac Summoner costs 3, which is nice for the curve, but often means you pull Sac Summoner, which isn't very good.
Stormpike Marshal - In 2 weeks and over 100 matches, I haven't seen this card once. And its stats back that up - less than a 40% WR overall.
I was expecting an hour long video, this works too.
I actually think this expansion should have been released before the last one. It would have led to a nice value oriented meta, and then with the quests we would have now a nice meta change. But in this order, the expansion gets irrelevant. All these new archetypes are countered by the old ones.
Unless questlines are obliterated, almost no cards costing 7+ mana from this expansion will see play
I would give Cariel a shot of seeing play, seeing as it is the one card in this entire expansion that can interact with OTK's (it at least makes them harder to pull off).
Also, I find it hard to believe that Scabbs won't see play unless rogue has literally no meta deck (since it will probably slot into every rogue deck, aside from possibly garrote rogue)
7+ mana? You are optimistic if you think 6 mana cards will see play
@@riccardodellorto4267 actually, you are optimistic if you think most/any of the cards of this expansion are going to see play, regardless of the mana cost. None of the cards protect you from combo/otk.
Kurtrus pretty widely acknowledged as one of the best cards of the set. Feel like you’re underrating the token cards too, particularly Battleworn Vanguard. Definitely a hot take.
Actually the big reason I think Kurtrus deserves a higher rating is that he might slot in very well in Deathrattle DH due to the deck’s high board presence. Not to mention that the battlecry is at worst a decent clear.
@@weegeerules1 I wasn’t saying the token cards were the reason Kurtrus will be good.
He was a lot more dismissive of cards than usual. In fact it seemed like he saw the vast majority of the set as 1 star. I would wager that he is correct at this moment but there will be a big nerf of the questlines to address the fact that the new archetypes are too slow to gain traction
@@Airthugger Which questlines are going to be nerfed? Mage and Warrior seem about the only ones left I see semi-consistently.
@@adawongre2 As far as Quest Warrior goes, the Questline wasn’t out of control until it got additional support in the Dead Mine set. They need to re-evaluate cards like Defias Cannoneer in order to make the deck fair again. Other than that, there are two other quests (Mage and Warlock) which gatekeep the slower cards from the new set since they can reliably OTK an opponent before turn 10 and have infinte sources of damage. I think a change to the fatigue damage of the warlock quest and probably a nerf to ignite will be needed to give all the hero cards room to breathe
*Cards exist*
Trump : 1 STAR!
this is why i love trump ratings
Kurtrus is just good in any deck... You don't need to be able to refresh his hero power for him to be good
Exactly Kurtrus seems just like a reallyyy solid card, I didn't agree with trump that time
I wouldn't say any deck, if you play a deck that doesn't attack much, the turn you play Kurtrus is a really huge down turn
considering that the only good DH decks right now are deathrattle/felrattle DH, Kurtrus isn't really that great of an addition, maybe in felrattle but it would be around the bottom 20th card range
@@imtx_xmti yeah... But dh almost always weaves in hero powers. Best fit is in plain fel dh
Thank you for your review and the future science you will do for us all. ^_^
Stormwind has been worse for HS than GvG's RNG fiesta ever was.
I wish the rng of this game went back to just rolling a 4 damage implosion or getting Milhouse from piloted shreeder.
u know what would be really funny if the 1 time trump doesnt believe in value rogue its super op and needs te be nerfed
I'm confused why cheaty snobold and wildpaw are being lumped as slow cards. Trump even calls cavern slow (4 mana 9/12 that requires no additional synergy and impacts the board immediately) after calling bridge good (4 mana 12/12 in a good scenario that requires synergy and doesn't impact the board immediately). Snobold turns your windchills into absurd tempo tools and your elementals into crazy good attackers.
I can understand saying they're slow if you think the meta is going to be so dominated by burst, combo, and insanely quick aggro decks you literally can't play a minion that costs more than 2. But if you think that's the state of the meta how is dun baldar bridge better than 1-star? A literal 4 mana do nothing card.
Edit: Also I find the fact that he says there's no good tempo rogue deck weird. Questline rogue plays like a tempo deck and it's tier 2. I netdecked a version, replaced two cards, and had an easier legend climb than I've ever had before. Did he not check the meta or does he consider questline rogue a combo deck?
i agree, i think the shaman bunker is incredible, 4 mana for 9/12 is absurd, it also helps against a lot of the popular aggro decks to be able to freeze face at those turns. I think elemental tempo shaman with some of these frost cards looks really strong. I also think the paladin do nothing on 4 card is pretty bad even with dream hands, lets say you go second, you have 4 cards, you draw 2 more cards by turn 3, coin this, play 2 0 drops, thats a turn 3, 6/6 play after passing turn 1 and 2 and using coin. Then turn 4 you play 4 1 mana minions, you probably win that game, but anything lower than that you lose to a single board clear or just die turn 6 to face damage.
Token dh, looks really strong, i have to disagree with trump’s review there
Wildpaw cavern is so strong though. It is a better piloted shredder that gives you another piloted shredder with a guarantee 3 cost inside.
If you didn't catch it from the review, these cards aren't bad, it's just that the current format is too broken. I'm sure in any previous meta frost shaman would be a decent deck and Wildpaw cavern would be an auto include, but this is the least interactive meta where hardly anything actually maters other than advancing your win condition.
Remember that Piloted Shredder is not a card currently played in wild, and that card was good almost 7 years ago. The meta and the power level of the card has changed A LOT
@@dracoblizzard7944 yeah I am not talking about frost shaman. I was just saying that it is a good stand alone card that you can splash into your aggro or quest decks which are currently tier 2.
@@saverh279 It's too slow for aggro and not efficient enough for quest
@@dracoblizzard7944 It's certainly faster and more reliable than dun baldar bridge
You know It's gonna be a juicy expansion when majority of the cards are 1 stars XD
Totally agree about super strong shaman cards!
When mayor of value town has absolutely no hope for value decks, you know how fucked up the current meta is.
21:00 i found this WAY funnier than I should have
I feel some black and white, rain on screen, draw back to this video memes going to come in around Christmas
How Trumps rated better Yogg box reminds me on "Caverns Below, 1 Star". I excited to see the meta and how wrong Trump will be about some cards. :D
Just remember: You gotta get to 9 mana first
He is likely wrong about a few things but I do not think big spell mage is one of them.
I think pride seeker will be super strong, because it lets you do your celestial pop-off turn on the same turn you play celestial alignment.
I think Trump was hard on most of these cards in terms of low star ratings compared to my percieved power level. That being said, I think he's talking specifically about this upcoming standard season and not the overall power level of cards. I think he is right to think that the newer decks are going to have a rough time compared to the current tempo/questline decks.
Finally, the highlight of new expansion !!!
Wow 0 dislikes! Glad everyone likes Trump reviews and agrees with his ratings!
This set doesn't seem to have enough tools to impact standard in any meaningful way, but it does make me want to try out a lot of things in wild. Of course, none of those things will be particularly good, but they would certainly be fun if you don't get matched against the nuts decks that make that mode nearly unplayable lol
i can gurantee you these cards wont change anything in wild, pirate warr has 75% winrate
@@eyle6839 I play at the lowest of the low, just a couple games every month or two. Ain't no pirate warrior down here lol
@@Kelarys same i play for fun and i love the fact i'm low ranked so i match against meme / weaker unrefined lists
you fixed your pronunciation of "cavalry", thank you, voted thumbs up
This is the greatest card review of all time
Yo Trump I think I might have fought you on Hearthstone earlier today, or maybe it was someone with the same username idk. I was SnomTheGreat btw, being able to fight you made my day even though I lost lol
As strong as I think the current quests and decks are, I think you’re massively underrating a lot of cards in this set. Token DH is finally getting payoff, big DH getting real support(comparing something to Skull of Manari is a big ask when it was one of the strongest cards in its own meta, but DH demon quality might be higher), Revive Pet seems strong even if just for more Rhinos; and it was long ago moon fang was being ran as a 3rd Beast in Hunter. Deathrattle discover for rogue can be mana cheat for rogue with prep especially turning it into v big tempo swings early. Ice Trap could easily see play even in Aggro Hunter because it makes control decks have very awkward time removing your board, it doesn’t need to be a secret deck build around.
I definitely think the meta won’t massively change until nerfs, but I think a lot of cards you’re giving a 1/2 are likely to be some of the more impactful cards in the meta outside the obviously strong things(Rogue, Paladin & Warlock hero for example). Even Wildheart Guff being seen as mediocre seems wild; it’s draw and ramp for celestial druid. The 20 mana isn’t the payoff, the card is wild growth(really better since it’s a full crystal)+shield block with a hero power upgrade.
nobody would ever play ice trap or revive pet in hunter now lmao. the only working hunter archetype doesnt need 2 mana and 3 mana do nothing on your turn (the only reason the 4 mana discover beast is good in this deck is because you can play it a turn before rhino, not after)
The star sound effect stops playing around 23:32. I didn't realize how much I appreciated it until it was gone.
I feel like they are gonna have to do something like what they did with the odd/even cards and hall of fame the quest cards early either pull the trigger this year or when the rotation comes next year.
Genn/Baku were only rotated early because you litterely couldn't nerf them, unlike the (two) potentially problematic questlines. Besides that the HoF doesn't exist anymore.
okay ill be so excited to see a 2.0 of this with him rating most of the 1 stars as 5 after people actually abuse the absolute hell out of them as usual
great video + see you in 2 months with an update trump
5 star rating for rating this expansion pretty well and making it super quick.
I don’t play hearthstone but I still watch these go Trump💪
Regis: Kurtrus is a Top 10
Trump: Kurtrus will waste your dust
I CANT WAIT !
Regis is also hardstuck low diamond each month, I wouldnt trust his reviews too much.
Jesus the ratings differ quite alot from the syndicate website
Very very. I think Trump just doesn't care any more.
Are these the guys who said the warlock's quest didn't need nerf? And they also gave it a 2 before the expansion?
I am regretting buying the pre order now
I am still thinking about it. Seems to me that the druid, shaman rogue ,hero cards will be at least fun, despite being tier 3-4
Take these reviews with a grain of salt lol
Keep in mind Trump's opinion is the quest warp the meta too much. If the troublesome quest get another round of nerfs, these cards will be better. He cannot see the future perfectly. I expect Blizzard will be forced to chop some knees to sell the new expac.
Mountain bear is insane! 9/14 stats for 7 mana!! Sludge belcher vol. 2
But this is hunter we are talking about
It is not Sludge Belcher.
a) Sludge Belcher is 5 mana, this is 7. Comes down two turns later which is relevant.
b) Sludge Belcher isn't a card often played in current meta in Wild. The power level has changed since 2014
c) Sludge Belcher was never run in Hunter
this ratings seem pretty harsh, but sadly i dont see how most of these cards can be played. most of them are either too slow or dont have enough support to be worth running. meanwhile quest warlock and other fun and interactive decks exist, which destroy slow decks. i wouldn't be suprised if alterac was actually the least impactful expansion ever.
On paper this looks like another Rastakhan’s Rumble in the making. However, i want to say that Team 5 learned from that meta (which harmed the popularity of the game immensely imo) and will be willing to nerf the Stormwind set significantly if the new set does not make a significant impact
Galvangar in control warrior is just a win condition, 36 damage OTK setup after with Galvangar + Faceless Manipulator + Battleguard after using 2x to the front. It definitely does make sense but not sure if control warrior can exist with quest Warlock being a thing.
It needs 5 cards, which is probably too much. (That's cards that you have to draw that don't help you survive.) But as an 18 damage 3 card finisher (Galv+Battle+Front) it might just be enough.
Build a Snowman will 100000% see play in quest mage instead of or along side ice barrier. No question. That deck is starving for non-targeted frost spells. Should be at least 4 stars.
You was wrong trump alot 1 star cards are 5 star, 🤦♂️😂😂
I think he completely forgot about Korrak when talking about deathrattle priest. With revive mechanics and the new hero card, priest can potentially have a board full of these. Good luck winning a game with this set up, as I can count with one finger how many cards can clear said board
Lol you're so cute.
@@arifridwanabriyanto9286 and yes, he was dead 2 turns later
Finnaly you beautiful beast
I agree that the current set of cards needs a nerf and that this upcoming expansion isn't looking practical but some of those ratings seems off. People pointed out at Kurtus but I'll also add that 5 mana Nova+Elemental. I also doubt Libram Paladin would want to run Cariel as being able to summon a body for your buff is really important.
HE IS BACK!!!!!
I think it might be worth mentioning that some of these cards could be good in Duels.
Hey Trump
Frozen buckler is decent tbh. You don't have to pay the 5 armor if you don't have it anymore on turn 3. It's still 2 mana heal 10 though.
I wonder if frozen buckler will actually be reasonable. Heavy armor was surprisingly good in the last meta, it’s effectively 10 damage prevention for a turn or 5 for multiple turns for only 2 mana. I can see this actually being helpful.
I feel like heavy armor is mostly good because of the flexibility of having “Tradeable” on it. Just gaining armor, especially armor with a downside, is rarely worth it.
Cariel does not work in libram paladin because the hero power does not generate bodies to libram mainly, and running weapons with her is just extremely hard if not efficient
This was a funny video lol. I'm sure when he was talking about rokara hero card being bad or warlock hero card being to good he was laughing so hard on the inside.
I can't wait for the inevitable Korrak Phylactery meme deck
I think disregarding rally priest is a mistake Trump. It's been a meme deck for a while but these cards that can fit in it makes me think it's gunna be tier 2 at least.
To the Front / To the Front
Captain Galvangar
Faceless / Faceless
8 Mana / 27 Damage
Legacy set? Never heard of it.
It breaks my heart a little bit that this set has so many cool cards but because the meta is just aggro or solitaire they will see no play.
Can't wait for trump reviews Trump reviews on this one 😏
Priest hero card got underrated, it’s gonna slot right into big priest which already plays deathrattles
I really hope the quests get rotated out of standard this year, i've had my fun, now i want control back, thx
Weird hot take that I just thought of. Wildheart Guff is only 5 mana and provides card draw, as well as turning your hero power into card draw. My theory: Wildheart Guff will actually see more success in Aggro Druid rather than in Control Druids because Aggro Druid, other than hitting pretty good Composting, doesn't have a lot of card draw. So Guff's ability to ramp and draw when an aggro druid runs out of cards, and then turns their hero power into more draw....its a one card answer to shore up their biggest weakness.
Why would they do that??? They win turn 6 already. guff would be almost unplayable... do you know how many classes get an option to board clear from 5 to 6 mana? This isnt only guff then do nothing for a turn it also means skipping the strongest play in the deck.. which is arbor up.
@@roshnuwest7521 Well I guess to reiterate, Guff would only be there for, "...when an aggro druid runs out of cards." Its not necessarily a 'must play on turn 5' kind of card idea. Like so let's say aggro druid has a 57% win rate right now. I'm willing to bet the 43% of the games where they lose is because the aggro druid runs out of cards and is simply top decking against decks who delayed them enough that they didn't win by turn 6 or 7. If they had Guff, at that point they could play him, get some card draw, get an extra mana crystal, get a new hero power that lets them an extra card per turn and keep the pressure on.
And besides, I said at the start of my comment that it was a, "Weird hot take," so I could be wrong.
Just goes to show how insane the United in Stormwind cards were. Class Heroes are back like Death Knights but theyre meh since the questlines are insane.
why is there no sound effect for the stars in the single neutral section?
I think you’re getting baited by the “trading back and forth” token DH cards. Giant is still gonna get discounted by a lot most games in deathrattle or token DH, and Kurtrus is *always* good. Battlecry is usually going to be worth 6 or more at a base level, and even without synergy the hero power is literally the upgraded DH hero power.
I like the set but I pretty much agree with the low ratings simply for the fact quests are too meta defining at the moment.
How would you make room though? I don't see them too just gutting all the combo decks to make control prevail, and if they don't this cards will go unplayed all way to wild since they are on the same year rotation.
Good
I have a feeling rokara will see some play. Also wondering if unstoppable force can be gotten from the juggernaut.
It can't be, since it's not a collectable card(proven by other weapon generators not generating uncollectable cards like Tirion's Ashbringer)
I wonder how often Frost bite will be in played to kill your own creature for the honorable kill.
With the growth of OTK decks it don't seem to unreasonable.
I am a bit surprised by these ratings, I guess they are reasonable given the cards available and the current meta. However, it's surprising to me that Iksar straight up saying that combo decks will be nerfed at the start of the expansion if these slower decks don't work out is not factored in or even mentioned
Iksar has said a lot of things in the past, from which only a few came to be reality... He'll say anything to sell the expansion.
I want to see re-reviews!
I miss it when star rating were done one at a time. I don't have the cards memorized so I have to pause the video to read them if I don't want to possibly miss any discussion.
Trump the only person I know who sees 2 mana 4/3 rush as a bad card
The best thing in the new expansion will be Trump's free-to-play run!
I really hope that Trump did not forget about that. It is time to start, only a couple of days are left to collect the current freebies.
Ah, good ole 1 star set trump review 😂😂
"Shadowcrafter scabbs will be played in every deck except tempo rogue" as if rogue has any other viable archetype
Garrote rogue and poison rogue? Potentially deathrattle rogue from this set? The only tempo rogue deck played right now is questline rogue
Should have given rune of the archmage at least a 2 stars not based on power level but on a fun standpoint. People are going to try to run this in quest mage/are going to play the card for fun
What fun you will having if the enemy beating you left and right under 6 turns?
@@raharii12345 not every deck kills on turn 6, overrated statement in my opinion
I'm calling now, the quests will rotate out early.
The weird thing is if blizzard deletes the quests, Trump would need to re-evaluate all these cards, but as it stands.... looks a bit rough.
Pog review
Big pally might just work with Vanndar and the card that draws your lowest cost minion.
Title of the video is extremely accurate because it has only 1 star in it.
The title is :star: ratings because he gave everything only one :star:
Ice Trap 1 star? I question that. Yeah in a secret hunter value oriented deck on its own yeah its not the greatest, but this can easily be in the aggro hunter deck like freezing trap, considering its like half a counter for 2
Its probably better than counterspell, its a lot faster than it with the only negative being that they still keep their card and can try to play it again later, but you don't really care about their card advantage as an aggro hunter. Making them waste even a single turn could be a death sentence for them.
Arcane Brilliance is tutor for grand finale & that's it
Elemental Mage doesnt currently exist for it to be relevant
@@marleonka. never said it's gonna be relevant
Grand finale was played a lot for a little while as a meme that can sometimes steal games. It's still played today here & there, and arcane brilliance can make that deck a little more consistent because it will allow it to run spells other than grand finale. But it's still mostly gonna be a meme that sometimes steals games.
But hey atleast that means it's gonna be played because Grand Finale Mage is still being played. On the other hand, I don't think big spell mage is gonna be played even as a meme deck.
Can we get a Trump review Trump review
I dont know, im not sold on these ratings, I think a lot of those cards might be better than you think but we shall see
Has there ever been that many 1 star cards I wonder?
The best thing that blizzard can make is banning the quests from standard. I hardly see another way of shaking up the meta.
I haven’t even played quest mage and can see that Build a Snowman fits straight in as a 3 for 1 non-targeted frost spell.
Theres no chance you play that in quest mage. Youre crazy if you think that deck wants 6 or 9 cost spells.
@@WayToGoBerengar Maybe, as I say, I don’t play it. But I play Fel DH and blocking mages from playing frost spells by not playing (or killing off own) minions or activating their secrets can delay quest completion by several turns at least (depending on their draw). Snowman would solve that in a single card (I.e. could run 1 copy).
Rasthakan rumble 2.0!?
