We need a "Trump's Hubris" compilation where it's just clips of him BMing and making fun of weird decks/off-meta heroes before being beaten by them... it would probably be a long video

the fact that they have to play against a freeze mage is already aggravating enough, but also having that freeze mage be trump(ropes literally every turn) must be unimaginably painful.

what do you mean? that solarian prime gets shuffled into the deck? its 7mana man.
@@MrCaturday it does get shuffled though. It says it right there on the card's deathrattle. Besides, if the deck was still ordered then Trump would have drawn the second Tortollan Pilgrim after the first instead of drawing a Farseer.

MrCaturday Lorekeeper's effect gets nullified once a card is shuffled into your deck, if that's what you're wondering
@@TenYasha897 I don't think it's so much that it's nullified, but rather just common sense. You can order a deck however you want but if you then shuffle it, it's not ordered anymore, otherwise it wouldn't actually be shuffled. The end result is the same of course, but it's not a specific interaction between the cards but instead just the natural result of shuffling a deck that it's no longer in the same order.
This is the most unfun deck that’s cropped up in a long time, and surprisingly it’s just as bad in standard as it is in wild. Which is pretty impressive, but still terrible

this deck will run out eventually, and can fizzle if you draw both potions before the tortollans
You can play a version with Educated Elekk and Animated Broomstick which is actually infinite, since when the potion is drawn, you can shuffle in the potion into your deck and get those two minions back in your hand.

Sphere of sapience is there for making it so you have an incredibly low chance of ever drawing all 4 copies of your freezes and both potions, so most of the time the only way it runs out of fuel is by getting to fatigue

This deck is so unfun to play against and with it. And you really need to stop copying Wandmaker with the Turtle, will only clog your hand with useless 1-mana spells.

Pretty much every card he decided to add himself is terrible in the deck... Theres no reason to play Sunreaver over the 5 mana 4/4 that deals 3. Dealing one more damage isnt worth the requirement at all. Also yes I agree, the deck is toxic and hopefully gets nerfed to oblivion somehow

You can run that elephant that shuffles spells back into the deck in case you draw 2 potions.
That colossal missplay at 30:00 where trump plays polkelt to shuffle the deck and then astromancer solarian that resuffles the deck when it dies, but noone even noticed because the madman naturally drew the turtle next turn anyway, insane!

I played this deck, I would say the watchers and the double ooze felt bad. Maybe replace them with something that generates value?
Short question that probably requires a long answer... maybe. What if you (as the Oppenent) dont play anything and dont clear the 1/1 tortolans. Like warrior can probably generate around 7 armor a turn right? Is that a thing you can somehow do or is it not worth since that deck wont beat anything else? Maybe druid can generate enough armor somehow and dont play anything. The mage deck runs out eventually of the spellcards right?

Because sometimes you don't want to kill the minions. Like with the Druid in the second game, once he has 7 minions on board, casting Frost Nova each turn is enough to prevent him from doing anything since he can't trade his minions away to make space for more
13:20 Honestly going for a bunch of Ras's and Solarians seem like a decent combo. You could do 4 damage per turn easily while clearing their board.
Why not 2 x Sunreaver Warmage? Helps you not draw the potion of illusion and it's a part of the combo in a combo deck.
Isn't rusteed raider pretty good as a 1/1? 1 mana deal 5 looks good in my book.

Holy. Trump draws a tortollan mage at 30:31 after shuffling his deck with Astromancer Solarian the turn prior. The luck is insane and he doesn't even notice
take a shot every time he says “note to self”.
Should add educated elekk to make sure if you draw potion you can get more copies into your deck

Freeze Mage isn't good enough to run Living Dragonfire
@@PlutoDarknight It's not that simple... if you have other unimportant cards and freeze mage is prevalent enough, then it can be worth it to play that weaker card in order to have a much better winrate against them.
Let's say the meta has 10% of your games be against freeze mage and Living Dragonfire gets your winrate in that matchup from 25% to 75%... if the weaker card only means losing 2% more in other matchups, then you're increasing your overall winrate by ~3%.
Chance any of those value and the viability of Living Dragonfire changes along with them. In the right meta, it could be worth it.
But the 3/4 dies to just 2 blizzards which u can easily play right? And if you have 7 minions you can just freeze em without killing them and the enemy cant play the 3/4. I mean i thought of the same thing but i actually think its not as usefull as it looks on first sight.

What he said. Two 1 mana 1/1 turtles kill it, so unless you're dropping it on a board with lethal it's worthless.
River O. You have to be good enough to push early damage plus not fill your board so you can win by playing it when you have lethal. It’s uncommon but it will work especially if this deck really is prelevant in the meta

Trump got incredibly lucky at 30:17 and didn't even realize. Solarian Prime got shuffled in in his deck after Polket was played, so Tortollan wasn't a guaranteed draw. I was facepalming hard in the part and he drew the card anyway, unbelievable.
Funny how these super op decks are always incredibly unfun and are gonna be played for months

30:20 how this works, shouldnt the deck be shuffled when a card is put inside it? does this even make sense ? and that effect of stacking your deck is permanent even when new cards are added to your deck?

It's a shame Jandice Barov suffers from a similar issue the old Druid Choose Secretly card, Fatespinner, did. There's usually one obvious choice that's more beneficial to the person playing it, and 'mindgaming' while funny is usually a strictly worse play that can get you killed. The rare cases like getting a Recurring Villain you can buff to resummon is fun, though.

"Goldfishing" (or playing against a Goldfish) is the practice of playing without an opponent, as in drawing a starting hand and playing until an opponent who does nothing to stop you from accomplishing your gameplan loses. Its typically used to describe decks that dont care what the opponent does at all, and is as uninteractive as possible.

I don't get why he goes "oh no I shouldn't have played this card" after playing Ruststeed Raider around 13:40, and then goes on to kill it instead of echoing it back to hand... it's a 1 Mana 5/1 with rush, that's much better than the "add Mirror Image to your hand" Wandmaker? :confused:
Wand maker is infinite value. I see you are a novice of trump tm strategy.
He has infinite freeze. Removing minions is no longer useful, in fact it's harmful as he can't sac the 1/1's to play more stuff if the opponent doesn't have any minions. The wandmaker at least has a chance to get him that 1 mana spell that adds a random spell to your hand, which _could_ give him a 5+ mana spell which activates his win condition.
Ruststeed Raider is removal but when you can cast infinite Blizzard, you don't need removal
A 5/1 with rush is useless when you don't care about the opponent's board. Trump was just looking for a 5+ cost spell to trigger his sunreaver and was keeping the enemy board frozen.
Trump takes super long to plan it out, then he rushes through it and screws up. thats just his thing

This deck win condition in a nutshell: did you hit turn 8 and not draw both potion and blizzard
I'll be honest I think he could have won quicker in that druid game if he just played Ras Frostwhisper and let his passive damage start killing the Druid then amp it up with Astromancer Solarian. Against other decks I could see the point, but I don't think that Druid runs any kinda Charge or Rush minions natively and the druid did pull all the animals he could get with Guardian Animals.
Against something like Warrior or Hunter I could see the reason, don't want the board clean to let something like Dino Tamer Bran into a King Krush or a Grom Hellscream do their respective thing, but Druid don't really have something like that in this expansion, at least nothing that I can realistically think of.
There could be some merit into board locking the Druid so he can't play his potential Malygos/Forest Warden Omu, but I agree Ras/Solarian would be a way sweeter way of killing your opponent when you get the possibility

Because Mage would be running Wand Thief anyway and between Wand Thief and just drawing one copy of Blizzard, getting a 5-cost spell in hand isn't unreasonable
