If neither of these links work (they've been working for some people and haven't been working for others), I'd recommend typing "Terrain Displacement Map" into Google Search & you'll find a bunch of images.

instead of using the displacement map as a node, use it in a displacement modifier, in that way you will have a mesh. This mesh can be used in eevee too
can you help, how do i control the height of the landscape in the displacement modifier?? im using eevee btw
@@darrenalbansyah use brightnes/contrast in color menu
Can anybody help ? My displacement map are not as sharp as his , they look like low poly almost
thanks this helped me a lot !
@@marcotp9 does your base mesh have enough geometry try adding a subdivision modifier
fastest and most straight forward tutorial ive seen especially on such a complex program
Dude amazing tutorials. Thanks for not taking 30 minutes to show your process. Saves me a ton of time and I really appreciate it. Keep it up
Such a great tutorial, concise and to the point, and a really chilled vibe
To see displacement in the viewport you can also use a displace modifier and add in the image there instead of having to stay on rendered view to see the displacement happen procedurally.
This is a great style of tut. Keep em coming.
damn this was an awesome tutorial. Went on and decided to make a pretty elaborated render and ended up encountering a bunch of problems which I ended up solving. Great for practice!! thanks man
Easy and straight to the point. Nicely done mate! Cheers
This is very helpful to me. Thank you very much for taking the time to make this 👍
I could never figure out how to add good atmosphere to my scenes before, and now I do!
super short and comprehensive tutorial man !
helped me learn and achieve some really cool new effects
thank you so much ! ^-^

Thanks!! Much appreciated :)
Great tutorial man, very quick but a lot of great info. Thank you!
Awesome! I can now make really cool space terrains!! Life is so awesome, blender is Awesome and Blender community is awesome! Thank You PopNerd.

Thanks, I really appreciate it! I'm currently working on another tutorial that should be up sometime this week :)
This was so informative and concise! Very good video, it is a shame that the drone sound in the background was so loud.
Just... WOW.. the best and easiest tutorial ever! You deserve more than 1 mil subs! Keep up the good work!

Great stuff.

Awsome! :D
Awesome
I love the tutorials man! I really enjoy the way theyre quick and to the point. It helps because I can take the advice and put my own artistic spin on it without waiting to hear the other things I need, thanks a lot!
However the ambient music is a bit too loud and the constant woooooooo sounds is a little distracting! Maybe adjust the track so its a little lower and your voice is more prominent? Cheers
Damn, so relaxed... and great!Just amazing thanks! ( Mauro3D)
Thanks! Glad you like it!
if you still have the files reply ... the google drive don't give me the terrains
Great content!!! is there much difference between using principled volume vs mist pass? Or do they give same results?
Thanks
Thank you much for this!!
You are Simply amazing❤
Thank you 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Thanks bro it's crazy !
ok I memorized it for life.
if you still have the files reply ... the google drive don't give me the terrains
Love this! Thank you for the quick and clear tutorial and the assets!
Question: how does depth compare to mist? Any pros or cons of using either one?
Great question! Tbh I don't know the difference and they seem to be minimal from my experience; However, I just Googled it and found an interesting thread if you want to check it out: blender.stackexchange.com/questions/43638/difference-between-a-mist-pass-and-a-normalized-z-buffer#:~:text=Depth%20sets%20the%20range%20in,quadratic%2C%20linear%20or%20Inverse%20Quadratic.

Awesome content in this channel. How has it taken sooooo long for me to discover u .
welp that was really quick and so much wow
Thank you, a question please. For me to mix the depth with the image information, the shortcut, I couldn't understand. can you explain?
Thank u! How many levels of sub did you add to the mesh? Also, did you shade smooth by any chance??
man, thanks a lot!
dang how you know so much about blender? Great tutorial aswell.
Thanks! Tbh I still consider myself a beginner but I've learnt most of what I know through other tutorials and by getting acquainted with other members of the blender community on social media.
Any idea why the sun is casting much shadow? nit matter where I move the light it's the same. I also have cast shadows on.
It was Really helpful...
To add the add node, press (cntrl +)
Thank you so much omg
Not shift+a?
@@cyleroxdonghuatanxianjia hey, yes shift+A is what I use now, cntrl + works as well for me

Amazing tutorial! Can't manage to find that exploration pack unfortunately

Hey !! Great tutorial. Can you please help me with this : Not able to add the Add node - Mac
Is this possible using the A.N.T lanscape addon that comes with blender?
Oly sh!t man
why you have only 2.6k subs
You're amazing
Thank you for the great tutorial, i tried to add the empty slot using shift+ while the color ramp selected but it didn't work, what is the kind of this node , i tried to search on add node or empty node also i didn't find it , can you help me.
I think you want control+
man this tutorial is crazy, but i can't find the 3d tiff for blender in download link, can u help me?
nicee~
For the Atmosphere at 2:15, I found it a lot better to use a UV Sphere instead of a cube as you see a white outline when using the cube.
That's weird. Do you see the white outline when you render?
bro thank you so much❤😍
how do i add the add node i already press shift and + with the color ramp selected but nothing happened please help
There is a bug preventing it from adding I guess, try adding a mix node and select Add from dropdown menu of the mix node, I have been trying to find it for half an hour lol.
do you have node wrangler enabled?
First of all, this tutorial is really amazing, thank you so much! I have one question though, when I append the objects they're mostly pink and missing materials. I tried with "Find missing materials" in the folder but it can't find the materials. Also when I open the blend file with the objects alone they're all pink and blender can't find the materials. Does anybody know what I could be doing wrong?
I'm new in Blender. How can I render it as Animation? when I render this as animation, the atmosphere is not rendering. pleas help.
Help! No depth node in render layer :(
thank you bro:)
When I change the colours on the color ramp connected to the math node the image stays black and white. Any idea why?
I followed every step you said but I don't know why I'm getting distorted landscape. Btw awesome tutorial, I subbed you
why do you have to add composite to view the atmosphere?
is it going to wok in eevee? please reply
Honestly doing procedurally is probably easier and more modular. You can make some amazing landscapes this way
I wouldn't say it's easier because you'd have to more tweaking to get interesting results but it's definitely more modular & better for customization.
idk if its my bad luck but so many things still went wrong. first of all the texture/resoloution wasnt detailed on mine, and when you came to chagning density to the cube and color, nothing happen to mine
why do you have 2k subs?
u deserve more bruh
when i tried to do it the landscape was messed up and streched out plus the cameras where seing diferent things then i was
This is a great video, thanks for tutorial. For the people who had terrain displacement problem just like me, pls check the drive link below the video and download terrains.rar file. Use tiff file not a png. I'm the beginner at Blender but I think there are many people just like me :)
Thank you!!
Soooo I have a hopefully easy question. If you planned on using a scene like this in an animation, at what scale would you want to model these things? I've always wanted to try to keep most of my work at 1:1 but that because a big problem at times when you go from a 1k x 1k block of terrain down to, say, a lab there that's maybe 10-20m across? I am generating my terrain procedurally using the base material's displacement (can't use a modifier as the noise is too tiny) and working with the experimental settings so I can use the adaptive subdiv to help keep my sanity.
Hey, I’m not too knowledgeable about this but from what I’ve heard, it’s usually a good idea to scale an object to the real world size of that object if possible. Personally, I haven’t noticed much of a difference, though
I can't figure out how to append. I have the file downloaded, but it doesn't show in the append screen
does this work in blneder 2.91?
Why my mountains are sharp and frequent? How can i make it the same as video
Is there any way to make this seamless after duplicating it many times?
Thank you
if you still have the files reply ... the google drive don't give me the terrains
i think the BEAM Studio’s Free Space Exploration Assets Maps is no longer available :(
yeah, did u maybe find it somewhere else ?
@@NizzAe no, unfortunately. :(
@@floyd1411 ohh thats sad, its fine thanks still for answering lol
@@NizzAe to be honest I kinda forgot what this tutorial was all about. I ll have a proper look at it in the morning first thing. Is there anything in particular you were looking for. I do have much more experience now with blender and perhaps I could check that for you.
@@NizzAe ps. If yr looking to make scifi environments check out chuck cg.. He has tutorials and tons of free assets on his gumroad page.
Is the Compositing atmosphere method only good for stills or can it be used for a moving camera animation?
Can definitely be used for animation!
This is great!!!! can you make a tutorial on eevee??? im a beginner and need a tutorial on eevee please
How do we use this in Evee
Through modifiers! Add a subdivision surface modifier and a displacement modifier, and use the height map as the texture in the displacement modifier.
I did this tutorial. It took me two computers, b/c I was putting the wrong files in the
Image Texture nodes, and therefor, it wasn't until I re-tried the tutorial on my lap top, was I able
to pin point my error. Regardless, I tried to do a 100 frame animation, as though one
were flying a drone over the surface, and that took about five minutes per frame.
Can you give me any advice on how you would apply "moving camera's"? I know
that's the sort of thing an VFX chip would render in a few seconds, but it would still
be interesting to know how you would do it before shelling out several $1000
to buy one. Thanks again, great tutorial!
Awesome tutorial! Question, what is the best way to add PBR textures to these? When I try to add in a texture, it messes with the displacement.
I’m actually not sure how to use PBR textures with this - I’d assume the issue stems from the displacement properties of the PBRs on top of the displacement maps. I’ll ask around and let you know if I find a solution, though.
@@PopNerdStudio I would assume that it has something to do with using a mix shader and adding that to the Principled, I just dont know what the best way to do it would be. Thanks for the quick response!!
1:40 when I go back out to the layout tab I don't see anything but a flat plane
In case anyone was having the same noob problem I had, you need to be in render view on the layout tab. At the top right there should be a bunch of globe icons, the right most one is what displays the landscape. At least for me that's what helped
how to import this in unity?
Hey
Nice tutorial
But when I click displacement and bump mine still stays flat
1:30 why does my mesh shape become very sharp and weird af, I tried to adjust the scale but I can't make it like you
I don't know how to place the camera. Can you please help TT
Hello, for the link, only 6 files show up and I don't know why, please help anyone have a great day!
Mighty Nice! ...wonder, how would you add rocks etc to the surface? would you de-res the landscape first?
Right, you could use the displace modifier along with a subdivision surface as well but that would take more subdivisions.
@@PopNerdStudio Cool, thank you! :)
I may ask, where do u get the "add" node? I've been trying to look for that node anywhere in Blender...
You can add a math node a select the "add" function. The add node is not showing up for some people for some reason. I think it may be the version of Blender they're using.
