- Mr & Mrs Tang, both in their 70s, have been making their traditional pancakes for the last 3 decades. The couple takes pride cultivating their own natural yeast in the same old way that the stall's founder, Mrs Tang's father, used to do since 1960s. It is the yeast that gives the pancake its distinct chewy texture and flavour.
Preparation at the stall starts at 2.30am in the wee hours. By 3.30am, peanut pancakes are ready to be served. Each piece is generously packed with fragrant ground peanuts. The ring pancakes that come in different flavours are served with flower coloured paper cups that reminds one of childhood days!

I love seeing the old traditions unfortunately with Tanglin Halt marked for re-development it is likely Mr and Mrs Tang will retire and another tradition will be lost (Tanglin Halt was one of the first Hawker centres) So thank you for being there to show this amazing couple still doing what they love for so many decades and thank you Mr & Mrs Tang for all the joy your food has bought even to an ex-pat like me.

Only way to avoid the crowd. :) The owners have been doing it for so many decades this is their home where they could meet their old friends and customers. But also have cut down on opening time and days due to old age.
